    • When I start the bike in the morning, it idles at about 1300-1500 RPM. After riding about 30 kms to college, the idle RPM rises upto 2000-2500 RPM depending on my mode of riding (2500 if fast, 2000 if economical). What might be the problem? Can the local mechanic fix it or should I take it to the TVS since it is under warranty?

Relax buddy your ride just needs some tunning, take it to the SVC and tell them to tune it on a co machine.

        • A Misfortune

Guys, had an accident yesterday. Was en-route to My college at normal speed, next thing I know is that My bike is skidding and I fell on ground. Saw that My bike got skidded to nearly half an foot in front of Me. Luckily for Me, the truck behind Me stopped and was saved. Got up, My right hand had got totally limp, as had taken full force of body on it. Also, I was wearing a helmet and gloves, so avoided other causalities. After I got the bike to side, it turns out that a tempo had dashed Me from behind, as said by a few road people, which sent Me skidding. This was the only thing possible for My accident cause it is My daily route to college and the road is superb, as it is a highway. Got to doctor, had dislocated My arm. Got operated it and now My right arm is stuck to Me for at least 3 weeks. No movement is allowed and possible.

As for the bike, though I saw it skidding such long, The leg guard and sari guard took all the beating. Just the front left indicator got scratched and the main white casing of headlight near visor took a little scars. Other than that, bike runs perfectly(a Friend of Mine told Me). Even then, am giving it to SVC for a check up.

So the thing I would like to say is people please be careful while even riding sanely. Cause You might be sane, but other's might not be. One might not be always lucky as Me. And always wear a helmet, cause it saved a lot casuality in My case. So please be careful, all the time.

Sorry to hear about your accident mate, but what you said is true. Just because we are careful it doesn't mean that others are too. Had my share of these kinda things too and if it wasn't for the trust which I have placed into my bike's braking I would not have been alive. And worst of all these people will accuse us of creating the problem !!! Get well soon mate !!
When I Ride my bike I don't feel like a common man.
              I feel special.
I feel something which is beyond words.
That is the thing which makes my bike special, me special, the whole ride seem exceptional .

Mirhawk: Glad you have escaped a big accident Wishing you a fast recovery!!

Your entire post is an eye-opener.Your case sends shivers to riders like me who wear helmet only on long rides and feel it cumbersome in city rides . Let we all be cautious all the time and ride sanely with care!

in 2 wheeler accidents, most of the times the rider is not at fault!
but what we can do is always use as much protective gear as possible!
get well soon mate! ur menace will be back in the action soon!

+100. Mostly people tend to blame bikers in mishaps. So its up to us to keep ourselves safe regardless of who is at fault.

+100 to the bold lines. Almost every 2-3rd time I go to the nearest point to my home, i.e., a metro station, I find such people even in the 1-1.5kms. ride. Girls/aunties crossing the road without even paying attention to what's coming to them at what speed. And when you somehow avoid hitting them by panic-braking or maneuvering, they stare you as if its your mistake or even utter some bullshit like "pata nahi kaise chalate hain, dikhta nahi koi aa raha hai" and stuff instead of being thankful.
