And about the cable, Did you mention it was faulty?

Yes the cable was faulty from day one.

I don't trust petrol from any other source except government sanctioned ones. And on rural stretches, private depots might have adulterated as 30% kerosene. So i played safe.

    • Just back from a long trip.

Did Delhi-Nainital and around in my bike. I am in love with the RTR all over again. There's no bike I have ridden to this date which is as good and involving as the RTR around hills, specially while doing a hill-climb.

2nd gear and revs hitting the red-line, that's the way to do hill-climbs my friends! And then no need to mention the noise it makes...

It was an unplanned trip. I just checked the oil-levels, tighten the chain (the whole chain-set badly needs to be replaced), lubed it and went for it. It was all and all a fun trip. We were a gang of 4 bikes and an Innova. So, whenever any of the bikers felt hectic, we swapped positions with guys in the cab...
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

        • HID problem

After installing the HID kit my battery keeps draining out fast.I replaced my stock to Amaron and i still face this problem i was not able to self start my bike, got my bike back from the mech after charging the amaron battery again. Please help is there a way the battery drain can be fixed.? I just read that an electrical modification can be done to make the bike run on full DC. If i convert it to full DC will the HID wires need to be rewired.

            • Another speedo isuue

Hi everyone, recently i have been getting a seroious problem with my speedometer. When i rev the bike on standstill or after pressing the clutch, the bike revs till 5k rpm and a gets stuck there for abt .5 secs and then again raises, but when i release the throttle the bike keeps idling and the tacho shows 0k rpm while idling. And on normal runing the tacho needle vibrates a lot at 8k rpm in each gear. Wat to do..??

Another issue is that on my ride even when the petrol is nil in the tank , the yellow fuel indicator in the speedo never gets lit up, this has lead me into very unwanted situations many times.

seniors and other experienced members plzz throw some light on this.

And all plzz reply to my carb query which was posted recently before 2 pages. THnxx

Rather than which absorb how much moisture, important thing is how much it is affected with particular quantity of moisture.

Say for 0.5ml water in 100 ml fluid, drop in boiling point of DOT3 will be lesser than that of DOT4 (DOT3 is sort of life time fluid. DOT must be changed at least once in 3 years).

For sealed brake system/container as of ours, DOT4 will work well. However, in older cars like Ambies/fiats and some old bikes, having partially ventilated container, DOT4 should not be used.

In india, most of DOT4 will be clear/light amber. However, DOT3 will be cherry red. DOT3 contaminated will be brownish and DOT4 contaminated will be dark amber.

If at all some one is seing DOT4 to have pink tinch, his brake system was not flushed properly and its traces of DOT3.
Yeah DOT 3 is a life time fluid that s why its stock.

bro u got it a bit wrong, the bike dosent jerk at all, its just the stupid needle that vibrate, while there are no jerking issues . So upjetting wont do any good here.

                      • Hey Guy's
Lately when the self check cycle is done by the meter console, a weird grinding like sound is heard when the tacho needle swings from 0-12K-0 rpm (the swinging action/timing is alright though). The sound is not a loud one. If it's quite out there, i mean the surroundings, it can be heard. Yesterday the self check didn't complete 2-3 times too. But otherwise it's all OK.

What could be wrong especially with the sound coming when tacho needle is moving?
                        Waiting for your inputs.

The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.
