If you want to clean the brakes uour self remove the calipers off the fork and remove the pads you will need a (forgot the sizes) a spanner (preferably ring) a flat screwdriver and alen keys.

now scrub the the pads contact surface with large grit sand paper to remove the glazing this will reduce brake sequel this also applies to brake shoes for drum brakes.

now at the work shop we use a brush and compressed air to get rid of the brake dust in the calipher or else you could just use warm soapy water and a toothbrush to get rid of the brake dust.

reassemble the caliper and before setting it back on to the disk push the pistons back into the caliper with a screwdriver, this makes refitting easier. now pump the brake lever till brake pressure is restored

            @johnjojo08
sorry i took so long i'm assuming you mean only the fork legs and they cost about 1100 each and a little more if it's for the 180 the only difference bing the colour. If you indeed mean the assembly then figure in the cost of the cone bearing set About Rs280 and the T stem about 600(not 100% sure about the T stem cost)

Check the disc brake pads and adjust.Occasional Bursts to speeds over 100 is fine as long as you dont keep it for a considerable period of time.

                            • I am experiencing knocking with My Bike.can't confirm whether it is due to poor fuel or some other issue.Which things I need to check.the Knocking is felt on every gear.Pulling is Normal.
                              But as I earlier posted:

I managed to take some photos of the same. Can You People Identify what Part is it?There is some slight leakage from this thing which is found inside Left Side Air Scoop.

Check the rounded part see the oil pipe having some leak.

from here(Left Air Scoop) inside that these parts are found

                              • Help me decide about RTR 180.

                                Friends,

I was planning to book a RTR 180 Menace tomorrow. But after reading the ownership thread, I'm a bit confused now.
The following issues I've observed in RTR 180 from this thread,
1.) Engine vibration around 5000-7000 rpm (not a big problem as it is oversquare engine).
2.) Engine oil leak (reported by many guys here.)
                                3.) Fork alignment not proper

As owners of the RTR 180, do you recommend me buying this bike?
The problems listed are very severe or its quite normal? Is it a VFM to invest in RTR 180.

My next choice is Honda Unicorn, but it is pretty old with no good updates...by the way , ...I never go for Bajaj...

                                Please help me quickly.

                                I own a TVS-Victor for 6 years , without any major problem.
