  • Question guys...
The drain period of Semi Synthetic engine oils are around 2500km right?
But what is the maximum time period till which the oil stays in grade? I might take around six months to complete 2000-2500km I'll top it up as n when required though
Would the oil stay in grade for six months?
    So, what say?

The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

    • TVS completing 100 Yrs

Got an sms on Friday from my local SVC, TVS Kapoor about a free tune up and PUC as TVS has completed 100 years. Anyone else, who received such sms or am I just the lucky one? Hoping I can speak and set thinks right with them, regarding the non availability of parts and at time crappy service!!

                Just a stupid thought there

Can we suspend something on the frame near the footpegs so as to let the thing take the vibes away from footpegs? The thing/block/bar could of any material which can consume or take vibration to itself.

(While my bike vibrates badly, the RVMs vibrate quite a lot more than the rest of the handle bar assembly. So, if they can bear the vibes of handlebars, why not something near the footpegs? )

Named Drifty n guys separately coz I can expect them to try implementing it
I had tried that before, attached a thick iron bar to the left rear footpeg & the other end on the chassis where the saree guard bolts fit in.I found no difference so removed it.
Haxor was right with the 'rubber bush' thing.Neither its a rubber nor a bush but a vibration damper.I bolted it without the saree guard & now I feel ZERO vibrations.Believe me,the vibrations from the footrests had almost disappeared!
Now,have to eliminate the vibrations from handlebar, that thing is pending, guess I ll have to buy allen key set.
Garry, try this and see if you feel the difference.Remove the saree guard & then fit the damper alone, plus insert thick cotter pins in the footrests as I had done.BTW,which engine oil are you using??

                • I guess you cant do much about the vibes in the handlebars, yes the 15w50 will kill the revving nature of the bike and the bike's pickup will be sluggish.

Will try. Can we remove the saree guard on our own? PLUS where can be find the thick cotter pins? Can I get them from any random hardware shop? And about the engine oil, you will enjoy reading THIS conversation between me and Haxor. Read 3-4 posts starting from the link.

Yeah you can do it at home, you have to open up the seat,on the left side there will be 2 nuts, you have to remove them and there will be nut connected near the foot pegs you have to remove that as well.
I never had to use naything extra, just put up the bushing there and you're good to go.

I guess you mean 60-70 kmph

I always felt the vibes at 60-70 kmph range after which there is negligible vibe.
I guess you should tighten the nuts which is connecting the handlebars.
tappets go loose after certain kms,or maybe(early) because of hard ripping, get it tightened from the SVC,you need a feelers gauge

I guess it is advised to change the engine oil after 3000kms
I don't think there is any "best before" thing written on oil bottles,so i guess there is no time limit,But i suggest you should change the engine oil once in 6months at-least.

                              Thanks bro
On second thought, think i'll change the engine oil once in 3 months, like always along side periodic SV
                              Peace of mind is assured
