Till this day, believe it or not, i haven't raced with any guy on the road, no sir. And i will try not to, ever. I ride above 6k rpm on some early mornings 2 or 3 times a month, on one particular road only, with some cool corners and a nice straight. I've said this already
I've long ago given up competing with other bikes. it's pointless and too dangerous. most bikers get an ego boost which is far more powerful than even nos and that leads to sometimes fatal accidents. i do enjoy the occasional race with the odd performance car though, they offer a REAL challenge and don't veer through traffic like a kamikaze. Of course they usually win, but the fun isn't in always winning, it's in the race itself. pulsars and yamahas and other rtrs aren't really competition.

Am back after much time, these studies do take a toll!!
Guys, having a problem with My bike. Have noticed that bike refuses to go beyond 90 even if the road is a full stretch tarmac, such as a highway road. Tried 2 to 3, times, but to no avail!
Also, I have noticed that recently My bike average has dropped a lot!! I ride nearly at 60kmph daily, sometimes reaching till 70 and I'm getting barely 40kmpl!! My bike has done 2000km on ODO and has done second servicing nearly a month back.
And one more, had carried a Friend of mine as pillion a few days back, and obviously, he and I were definitely above max pay load, a lot! Has this done any harm to My bike?

Haven't ridden a bike on a track neither raced on it, yet
We don't have a road racing track where i live. But i hope, would get a chance sometime, may be at the Madras Motorsport Club's race track, Chennai

looks like your bike have some serious issues .a stock rtr with single rider on plane can do 120 easily. above max load doesn't harm engine.
and now you are getting 40 then what you were getting before..
when ever you try dose the wind was opposite to you, cus wind play a big role in top end try to lean on front and then try.

it's much easier down south than around here man, chennai, bangalore etc. have some nice tracks. There are a lot of guys in this forum that race regularly, it's not as hard to get into as it sounds.

How does one actually do that? Drive till 100kmph and slow down to say that my bike is faster, because I know that your bike is faster than mine beyond tht and I dont want to show you that.

Well, it won't be needed to be stated by the rider. Just do that IN CITY

Anyways, jokes apart, why did you just came with the intentions of proving your bikes' abilities here which, indirectly, will most probably gonna lead to some brand war? See, we happily accepted, even stated ourselves, that your steed can outperform ours after 100kmph. Then why don't you guys simply accept that till 100kmph (or so), RTR is better performer? No matter who owns which bike, just accept what they really are

Yes,ego boost is far more dangerous than any other power in this world. It's what makes guys on Splendor/Passion believe that they can outperform any bike on the road. And I agree, most of the times I have been beaten by many of such loons.Sadly,I have a very little ego boost which comes once in a while as told earlier. What do I do?

Yes,I take my bike exactly to 100kph and then stop it immediately! This also shows that RTR's braking distance is the shortest..

I hope you guys know something called mathematics and the numeral system. If a bike does 0-100kph dash faster than any of the other in the same segment, then it includes numbers from 1,2,3,4,5..to..95,96,97,99 also. Given roads and limits in our country(or atleast at my place) I hardly get to touch 100kph in the city.

And also,it's not like that just after the speedo shows 100+1kph the R15 just flies by.It's all relative. Some guy might overtake me at 95

In case, the stretch is very long and I know that the guy will eventually pull ahead of me.This is what I do..Overtake-Turn the lane change indicator immediately-Close the throttle-Hand signal to the 'smart ass' to PASS.

That my friend,is how you show mine-is-faster-than-yours and burst those soaring ego balloons!

And this not only applicable to the guys riding the R15.The same treatment is given to lower powered bike also,be it FZ/Uni/disco or anything. Equality is what I believe in!

Thats why I see no points on arguing. We know how much capable we and our steeds are, and the other guys who know enough about bikes also do. The guys who oppose something which is true/possible will surely be some fanboys or, like you said, with high "ego" problems. And explaining something to them is like washing your hands with dirty water

So, Better not picking up the arguments here and keep showing the truth on the tarmac

The SVC guys ought to carry out all the jobs mentioned as regards first service in your users manual. You should go through the manual as well, just to get an idea. We can't just stay at the svc and watch them working right? So what i do is trust them on this, and after getting the bike ride it, so as to ensure every thing's working li'l better than before If you can, try to use a mineral oil like Motul 3000 4T plus 10w40. You can give the oil at the time you hand over the ride or go over there later and get it done like at the time of delivery or at a time in between (tell them about this aspect). Ensure that they replace the oil filter too.

About K&N, i suggest you to stick with the stock filter itself. The gain is marginal and for that, you need to increase the size of the main jet along side a bigger carb (correct me if wrong). Your warranty might get void if you are going for this mod. Just maintain the stock one in clean condition and would be perfect.
