Give some time to get adjust to seating postion like lock your knees to the tank & release load from your wrist. Guys, how do I find out if my clutch plates have worn out ? My bike is doing 50k+ kms and no clutch plate change done up until now .

A few signs are:-
1. Loss of power and torque.
2. Loss of fuel efficiency.
3. Difficulty in shifting gears.Almost impossible to shift up or down, without matching revs!!
4. Starter motor will feel more stressed during starts. Some time bike will not self start while in gear.
5. I think(not sure) ,that the engine oil turns black faster than usual.

Point 1,2 already happening , there seems to be a slight clutch slip wen I raise throttle when the clutch is engaged .3,4,5 has not happened yet :-P guessing its time to change the clutch plate . Any idea how much it would cost ??

There used to be a RTR 180 parts price sheet shared with members long back. You could search this thread for it.

50k kms and still on stock, you need to get then changed, please follow the manual and service coupan for what parts needs to be replaced or changed.

By the way the list is in my signature, do have a look

Clutch plate is some Rs750 or something around that..
While the clutch cover is opened, change the clutch bearings and release springs if they are also worn out. Changing engine oil during the clutch work is a good practice..

I dont think it is a 'good practice'. It feels like optional.
No, when clutch plates are changed, oil should be changed as the old oil contains the dirt, dust and harmful abrasives.
If oil is not changed, the new plates will last at most 8k kms.

Did anyone try out mixing boric acid in engine oil and petrol and tried it using on your RTR?
My friend has a 60k kms run RTR and his mechanic asks him to rebore or go for a new bore-piston kit.
He has a budget problem and he read that mixing boric acid in engine oil will coat all the engine parts with boron (some info about boron: a substance which is stronger than the substance used to make those parts itself, it will prevent from wear and tear and will prevent corrosion or deterioration).
And mixing it in petrol will coat boron in Piston, bore, etc so that it will fix the bore for at least 6 months.

And @All RTR Owners,
If RTR and the Hondas out there are compared, which can handle all the rough Indian terrain roads and which is the most reliable except engine (yes, ofcourse, the Honda engines are the most reliable) ???
