The second thing which I had in mind while opting for k&n was that I am using a fully synthetic engine oil for the motor of motul make I guess 5100 or so. Costed me Rs. 800 for a litre. So can that prevent the possible damages to my bike with this lean mixture if it is present! Also, I dont ride my bike much like 10kms per day hardly. What do you suggest, sir? To remove it or to keep it??
Using a good oil cannot save your engine from the damage k&n is gonna cause. My suggestion is to remove it or up-jet the jets.

No i had to rebore because there was apparently no engine oil and i was running the bike.i did it in the SVC. i was considering selling the bike but i decided to go for the rebore.

how do i go about fixing this tappet sound??

Tappets should be adjusted only when the engine is cold. Better take it to a local mechanic and ask him to tighten the tappets, he would do that with a feeler gauge. You can also find DIYs to fix the tappet noise but its better to leave it to the pros to do it i guess. If you are asking me a sure shot solution , i don't know bro :P Tell me if you find any Tappets occur only when the engine is hot ,not all the time . Check the timing chain too , sound might be coming from there too , it would be heard all the time , cold or hot engine .

NO i get this sound only when the engine is hot.so i am sure its the tappets and i have this problem of tachometer vibrating after 7K RPM to 9K RPM.it wasnt present before.i dont understand why TVS hasnt paid attention to all this, horrible quality.

This debraj's DC kit, is it plug and play?
Like can I unplug it before I give it to the ASC guys? Or do I have to wait till my free services are over?

BTW. My bike is around 900kms old. I tried redlining it today(in gear of course) but as soon as it hit 9k or 10k I felt like hitting a limiter. It felt like stalling abruptly. So lean Mixture you Reckon?

Btw. Since you've upjetted. Can you post the jet size you have? As a reference to us folk who want to get it done!

Its tappets in that case , get it checked while your engine is dead cold . you mean the whole tachometer is vibrating :O ??

I don't have much information on the DC kit, if am right he uses a piaggio ape's RR unit. The unit has magneto coil woundings too so you just cannot remove it before service , one time plug and play :P Am not sure but i remember someone here posting a picture of a Silencer and telling Debraj tuned it, he might throw some better light on it.
Yes, it might be the lean mixture , just take out your sparkplug and check it for confirmation.Coming to the jet size, even i did not get a good driller to do the job , so i went with the conventional way of filing the jet with a brake wire . It's a lot of trial and error and not a perfect job , wasted 2 main jets doing this , got a near good mix only on the third jet . Ill try to post a picture of my jet if i open the carb . The only good thing is i got a good mechanic who helps me loads on all this without getting pissed :P for 2 weeks i was constantly checking my top range rpm trying to file a little more of the main jet each day :P

Devraj da's kit is plug & play, but you cant remove and install when you want.
The quality of winding is like oem, i have a kit installed on my RTR 160, it has been more than 1 and a half years and not a single problem with the kit.
And he only designed the pipe and tuned the carb of my bike.
He is an engineer and a very good friend of mine and also a proud RTR 180 owner
The pipe he designed performs too good with no backfires/misfires and sounds too sweet, has a very bassy sound even more than a R15 with daytona exhaust.
Stock airfilter has been modified to increase intake and still giving protection against dust. There are two conical shaped foams inside the airfilter, he removed one and tuned the carb accordingly.
Now we plan on changing the carb to a bigger one, of 200ns(i didnt up-jet the stock carb as i didn't want to fiddle with it)

P.S - dont mind my long post
