Initially the front fork wasnt diving as much as expected but later we found that the front brakes werent acting up as much. After checking the master cylinder and cleaning the pads somehow the brakes got better bite and now there is more communication from the front end.Even the front shock absorbers had less oil.Do check yours.Originally posted by theguitarfreak View PostHow much does the front fork of your bike get inside? Because mine one feels very hard and doesnt go in dat much and dat easily compared to a 220 whose front suspension feels like a sponge.
It can easily take up the beating but you have to show some mercy to the bike if you love the bike!!Originally posted by vishnups17 View Postcan this byke take a cruising speed of 90-100kmph for a nonstop 200-300kms trip, will it stress the engine as it has no cooling system, bcoz am planing a ~300km trip on my brother A180..

As i was riding flatout during the night, the ambient temperature was quite low, so i rode accordingly.Had it been during day i would have definitely taken 5 minutes break for every hour of riding. In that way it will help both the machine as well as the rider in evading fatigue.
Make it a point to travel at 6k-7k rpm if you are riding during daytime for a considerable period of time.

+1 to bolds, but a break of 15-20 mins gives engine to rest good....Originally posted by chicane1879 View Post

Max. Speed
My white angel has done 1300 km on odo. Last week I tried to rip the throttle to touch the max. possible speed in the outer ring road, Bangalore.
But the Tacho is not crossing 8000 rpm (it is oscillating at around 8000 rpm) and the max. speed was only 112 kmph
.
Do I need to sustain at full throttle to get to more rpm??
Is there any problem with my bike
.
Share ur ideas guys....plz...

depends on loads of factors, wind, road, slope, straight, bike pulled in each gear, single, doulble, croutched, etc...Originally posted by bala_racing View PostMy white angel has done 1300 km on odo. if the bike is refusing to go above 8k's either ur air filter is clogged or the main jet is.The Magician"

but that doesnt actually qualifies as a filter buddy, that's a sump which collects all the particles in the fuel if any, i'm talking about the real filter the RTR FI has, that'll definately keep the carb clean. The Magician"

Irrespective of what caste they belong (Carb or FI) all vehicles do need fuel filter...Originally posted by chicane1879 View PostAFAIK a carburreted engine doesnt require a fuel-filter.
Topic changed:
Today had a circuit race with my friend on FZ-S..No doubt Fz was left behind on the straights but on the corners i was too afraid to push the bike to limits.Undoubtedly, that guy has awesome control over the machine and was leaning the bike at angles that i can't even imagine to attempt..maybe that's what i thought and dropped the plan for the time being..
But as soon as the race got over i decided to try some peg-scraping action with the RTR...I don't know what's the matter with it but at speeds over 70-80kmph the rear feels as it'd slide away and at times,i felt like i am gone but thank god,it didn't happen!
Now ..Do the tires suck? And one should not attempt these actions with these!..Or is it more of a mental affair than technical?..Should i stop practicing it without swapping the tires?
Help me out please ..i want to lea(r)n these things! If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

TVS themselves use MRF tyres on their race spec RTR's....!!!!!!!!!!Originally posted by shivank View PostNow ..Do the tires suck? And one should not attempt these actions with these!..Or is it more of a mental affair than technical?..Should i stop practicing it without swapping the tires?

TVS tyres suck big time on wet, and while attacking corners, their sidewalls are good for nothing, they are good for straights and city puttring, but for performance oriented riding, RTR's chasis yells for sticky compound tyres (MRF,DUNLOP).
though i've scraped the pegs using TVS tyres,( my bike still runs on them
) but they dont inspire confidence, and you have to correct your lean while staying in and coming out of it (transfer of the weight on opposite side) cuz the sidewalls just dont stick to the tarmac, and on the stage of scrapping the peg, one uses the sidewalls to the limit, and i did it to the road well known to me, and i always "examine circle" it for sand, stones before putting my knee down...
i strongly recommend you to first change the tyres (MRF) before practicin leans as you're new to it, and you'll end up kissing the road with the TVS tyres. The Magician"
