Do not open and clean the carburettor frequently.About the misfiring part, try cleaning the sparkplug and set the appropriate clearance.Originally posted by prakash_mvpa View PostGoing to Visit TVS Service since Few Issues I face with RTR180.
1)2nd time ,I guess I've got adultered petrol from some pump
.So ,Carburettor Cleaning
2)No Cold Start problem etc.But There is misfiring and Engine is Overheating and knocking(which is interconnected with problem no.1 -carb issue)
3) Front Fairing/Dome is making noise.Last time TVS Service tightened the side screws ,but it is not resolved.
4)Front Disk Brake is Spongy - Again!Needs to do Air Bleeding. This has happened twice on Me
Will Reply Once I get back the Bike.Mean time ,Please Answer if You can Help Me
Thanks.
Even i am facing the noise from the fairing part of the bike which makes a constant buzz between 5-7k rpm. I guess i will have to resolve it of my own by trial and error method!!

I too get a kind of a thud sound from the headlight fairing every time I go over the odd pothole and stuff like that, however I don't get the buzz thing which chicane1879 gets. Seems like noise coming from the front fairing seems to be a similar issue to all RTR owners. Oh yeah and Happy New Year Everyone!!

Completed 1000km on my bike. Have started to rip her slowly but steadily. But i can now feel the skidding tendency of the rear tyre. What tyres can be a direct fit for it?
And my bike also gives jerk in low rpms (mostly near 3k) when i ride it at that rpm. I showed it to the mechanic. He adjusted the AFR and made it a little rich but still its there. Any idea?Last edited by theguitarfreak; 01-03-2010, 11:40 PM.You can only ride better tomorrow if you ride safe today.

Yeah the TVS tyres are really bad. Even I had some scary moments with them. I plan to fit the Yamaha R15 tyres MRF Zapper FY and S. I used to feel the jerks at low rpms till about 2500kms on the odo, now it's gone. If you also happen to install the R15's tyres do let me know how well they perform. The reason for me waiting to change the tyres is I want to wait till the rainy season this year and also I think I'll have crossed the life span of the stock TVS tyres by that time.

But will the R15's tyres fit the RTR 180 without any problems?Originally posted by iBerry View PostYeah the TVS tyres are really bad. Even I had some scary moments with them. I have fitted Zapper FY on my Pulsar 180 UG3's front. In addition to that, I have also made both the tyres tubeless.Originally posted by iBerry View PostYeah the TVS tyres are really bad. Speedo shows more speeds for every rpm. 5th gear, 4000 rpm shows 54 or so.
Performance gain is not noticeable but a certain degree of smoothness shows.
Grip is increased noticeably despite less size, enough for lean cornering and stoppies. Front feels safe at extremer leans too.
For RTR: I earlier tested brand new RTR's and even the new 180 had tyres with grip that was lesser than my old Pulsar's MRFs.
One lean on the flyover corner made everything clear - Great Chassis but gripless tyres.
So, I suggest you get this mod done. RTR's amaing chassis deserves such tyres! Best of luck.---

My Problems with bike misfiring and knocking got corrected in the last service(carburettor cleaned and tuning re done).they have changed front brake lever and some other things(no idea) as warranty replacement to resolve the front disk brake issue.
PS: Earlier faced knocking and mileage went down as low as 30-32kmpl(approx).Now stands resolved.
The Small issue as of now is ,that I get some slight "missing" through every gear till 50-55kmph speed.not able to understand what is responsible for this "missing"?But Bike Pulls Fine through every gear. Will I have to check throttle cable?Any Idea?
Thanks.
