    Guys!!
Today I had a heart in the mouth moment on my RTR. It has been raining cats and dogs here in my location. Got a breather in the afternoon. So, took my bike out for a ride. In some places the roads are filled with water. So, I was going through one such road in 1st gear about 8-10 Km/h and I just felt gravel underneath and my rear tyre sliding out!!
Although I was in my riding gear but still that was really scary. I could literally feel like the bike sliding out and no grip what so ever
Have heard so much about the wet grip of TVS tyres. Now felt it first hand.
Is this the case with all tyres in gravel and water or just specific to TVS tyres only?

Don't know about other tyres but had similar moments on TVS tyres. I was riding in Poladpur ghat with moderate rains and three times, I felt the rear tyre skidding for a split second. Quite scary experience, specially if you have a pillion.

On dry they are quite good but riding in wet conditions makes me nervous at times. (my Apache is non ABS)

Oh yes. Tvs tires are utter shitty in gravel/wet conditions. You have to be very careful.

Got the 1st service done today.

Engine Oil: Rs. 290 1 liter
              Oil Filter: Rs. 38
Chain Clean & Lube: Rs. 75

The bike felt a little smooth and the throttle response felt better.

Guys!! An update on Shell Ax7 oil price:
The revised price is 399/- (printed on the cover), while the shopkeeper took 395/- rs.
Anyway the last time when I bought the oil it was 375/-rs. I dont know where the hell these guys are keeping on increasing the rate.
Yes its a good oil for the RTR, but certainly not the best & to milk the customers so badly is not good and I think it will back fire them sooner or later.

Wow! Thats cool deal. So maybe that guy must be able to source with lesser rate. Anyway I also noticed that since one year or so Shell is trying rope in many mechanics with some lucky draws especially for them. I mean I could see some coupons for mechanics with some scratch & win offers I guess (not sure as I didnt check them & left the bottle with the mechanic itself). At the start they used to give some silly gifts like (key chains, bottle holders, pens etc) for customers. Now they are focusing on local mechanics. All some marketing strategy.

                      Hey guys, need some advice!
my bike's pickup has gone down and the engine has become somewhat harsh.. now i can experience vibrations from the foot pegs![emoji20] sometimes the gear slips from 3rd to 2nd! Clutch plates to blame here?? It has run only for about 1700kms after i changed oil to ax7.

Change the oil and before that just check the oil level too.
Maybe the clutch plates are nearing the end of their life.
OTOH, what's the condition of the chain? Is it lubed/maintained with proper slack?
                        Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Yes i cleaned the chain a week ago and it is lubed. But the chain has run almost for 15k kms. Is it possible that the chain is nearing its end? Because the sprocket teeth are intact!
                          Thanks buddy!

If the chain needs constant slack adjustment often, then it's gone. Else, the problem is something else. Try another oil for some time and see.
