Hello friends,

I have booked my Blue beast as well hydeRabad. The dealer told me it would take 10 days for the blue color.. However today being the 9th day after booking there seems to be no concrete news about its whereabouts. When I blasted the manager out of frustrations, he offered me to take the white color for timebeing, and would replace the panels once the blue vehicle is delivered to their showroom. Is this a good idea ?? Am really confused.. Please help !!!!

Very bad Idea. lot of paper work is needed to be done after changing the colour. After you get take the bike, they will not care about your needs anymore and will start giving excuses. My advice, wait for your colour. Write a mail to TVS about the delay in delivery.

Sambit to Sambit..

Thanks a lot bro for this suggestion. I was also not willing to go for this "panel change" bargain.. However, still wanted to check with you all. The "itch" to ride the new beast is just too much..

Well one more query... It may sound funny to many of you as well.
As of now I have a Honda Shine. I have experienced vibrations on this bike whenever I had to hit 70-75 kmph even occasionally. So usually I to do not rip (read: options are too less) my bike.

I was wondering, would the vibrations levels of TVS APACHE 180 ABS more than that of Shine's ?

Hi Samrokz . In which TVS showroom in Hyderabad have you booked it? Gachibowli?Or Smart TVS Madhapur?
Any reasons you do not want to try Apache 200. I would suggest you to wait for it. Might just about take one more month from now.

However, if you want to stick to RTR180, then better cancel out the booking from that showroom. As Sambit had mentioned Changing panels is a very bad idea.

There are quite a few showrooms in Hyderabad with Matte blue RTR180 in stock for display, better take the bike from there.

I agree with the other people. It is a bad idea indeed. If you have booked the bike from susheel TVS, kukatpally, do not believe a word they say. It has been a pain dealing with those morons.

On a side note, if susheel TVS happens to be your dealer, do not pay for registration. Get it done all by yourself. I ended up paying the money twice, once at the showroom and once for the broker they have assigned me. They do not treat you properly after the bike has been out of the showroom

Hi jetsetgo08,

I booked the vehicle from Anjali Motors, Hyderabad (Address: # 7-1-638, Bhanu Enclave, Sanath Nagar, Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar Rd, Model Colony, Sundar Nagar, Erragadda, Hyderabad, Telangana 500018). This outlet seemed to have a good reviews (atleast on Justdial). Why I decided to stick with Anjali Motors ????

1. The Manager Mr. Kishor krishna seemed nice to talk to (my biggest mistake) & also offered me some discounts OTR. He also promised to deliver the vehicle before 10days from booking date.
2. Last week, just to cross-check if Anjali Motors is playing any foul game, I called the Gachibowli showroom & they too quoted that there is no Blue Apache RTR 180 ABS model available in Hyderabad now. After booking it can take 10-12 days of waiting period.

The Story ~~
7th Mar, 2016: Vehicle booked with lot of excitement.
Update on 10th Mar: Vehicle would reach Hyderabad on Sunday night (13th Mar). Delivery would happen on Monday/max by Tuesday after they complete all formalities & PDI.
Update on 13th Mar: I called to inquire about the vehicle & he had no clue of its whereabouts. He was still trying to bluff around. I was furious for his wrong commitments & had blasted over phone.
Update on 14th Mar: He informed me that the vehicle was about to be shipped at night, from Hosur (will take 2 days to reach Hyderabad)/Mysore (3 days).
Update on 15th Mar: It seems, the story did not materialize again & the vehicle now seems to be shipped only after 2 more days from the factory/warehouse. The delivery is expected only on 21st Mar, 2016.. I am really fedup of his stories now.

Why not wait for Apache RTR 200 ? -- I loved the bike for sure, but again:-
1. Am sure the wait would be longer than 1 month for top model (FI+Parelli+ABS) [I have always opted for top end models of any vehicle (Bike/Cars) that I have purchased] 2. The top model would be much beyond my current budget.
3. Being most a daily commuter, I guess I would not do justice going for RTR 200 & not unleash its true power.
4. I somehow like the RTR 180 ABS more (no offence)

Are you sure they are APACHE RTR 180 ABS ? I even saw the Blue 180 (Non-ABS) with Anjali Motors too. Even they have the Black & White (ABS) in stocke too.

The Panel changing stuff is a strict NO NO for me now !!! Thanks to all your valuable suggestion. Now, either I would get the bike delivered in one piece & Blue color.. Else, if Kishor is trying to throw some more tantrums or any of his shit stories to me, I would prefer to cancel the booking... Also I would also make sure he remembers me till the end of his service life (should not make false commitments to any more customers).

Sorry for venting out here.. But I hope this is the only place, where people would understand my plight!

No issues.

Correct, i don't remember seeing Matte blue ABS version. May be they were non-abs.

Nothing to worry, since you have waited this long, another few days should bear the fruit. You can complain to TVS, if you would like to bring up the issue.

Make sure to check VIN number for manufactured year. May be others in this forum can help you with this.

Was suggesting the RTR200,being the next gen. vehicle has lesser vibes as many reviews claim. But, true, it could be atleast may-june till the time RTR200 Fi + ABS is dispatched.

Hi

Firstly, congrats on your booking, and welcome to the tribe!

There's no two ways of saying this: delays happen. And you have to bear with them. The showroom guys are people too, and there are probably tens of officials above their pay-grade who they have to listen to, and take orders from. Sometimes, the delays happen on the factory side and there is simply nothing the showroom can do about it.

The key is not to push them: if you do, they will lie to you. Or worse still, they will skip some steps in their delivery procedure (like inspecting the bike properly, test riding it etc. Some dealers put double-sided tape in vibration-prone areas to increase your comfort). The most you should do is politely ask them about the delay: if they are irresponsible or rude, then drop a line to customer care. Being friends with them might also result in pleasant after-sales service: and that's a mighty win!

Hope you get you ride soon. We know what the itch must be like

Happy RTRing! Ride hard. Ride safe.

Hi cep,

I exactly understand what you mean... I myself never prefer to misbehave with people unless they try my patience. I have only one expectation: "The Manager shouldn't have set a wrong expectation on the first place (he confirmed the bike will be delivered before 10days)".. Secondly "He could have been upfront with me stating: There seems to be still no updates about the vehicle, without making stories every time".. That's what pissed me off !!

But surely, I would keep your suggestion in mind

Well, I have no idea as well. They even screwed up my back wheel alignment at the fourth service :banghead: I could unscrew the nuts holding the wheel in place with my bare hands. Fortunately I was riding in bumper to bumper traffic when I've realised that something was not right at the back. Why they messed around with the back wheel, I have no idea...

Off topic, but just posting this so that my fellow riders know about their susheel tvs's service:
The list of things they messed up:
1st service: nothing really
2nd service: front disk. The bike just won't stop. They applied engine oil to the disc for "lubrication" it seems :what:
3rd service: carb settings, acceleration. they successfully transformed my RTR 180 to TVS xl 180
4th service: messed up back wheel assembly and the adjustment nuts on the swing arm (right side).
5th service: due next week.

Oh, and did I say that they did not inspect my bike before delivery?

@Guys from Hyderabad: does anyone know any good SVCs around?

Hi Samrokz,

VIN(Vehicle Identification Number) is the chassis number of the vehicle.

Sorry, can't help in decoding of the chassis number as I do not own a TVS. May be other RTR owners can help.

Btw, you do not have to use '@'(username) when you are replying with quote. @(username) is generally used to pull in a third-person into a reply/conversation.

Also, please let me know if there is an RTR200 in the showroom, the next time you visit.

I have an RTR 180, 2010 model. Still gives me the same performance as I had on first day. I get around 45 to 50km Average as I ride more than 4000 RPM and open the THROTTLE only when necessary. Now recently only problem I had with battery. I bought Exide FXR0-12XR9-B battery from BatteryBhai.com online. After changed the battery problem is solve.
