First of all I will sue you for using almost the same initials as of my nameOriginally posted by prateekm View PostI plan to do a 2000km+ trip on my Apache. Any tips for the maintenance of the bike? I currently plan to give the bike for servicing only, would that be adequate or should I carry some spares with me too? If so, which ones?
Get the oil changed at the during the service, get the brake pads, throttle cable and clutch wire changed. If possible learn how to change these , night be helpful. Rest everything is fine, enjoy your tripFare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

r u serious? does change in engine oil make that much of a difference? cause i've used shell(fully synthetic) too.. n ofcourse the ride n smoothness of the bike improved drastically but not much with the mileage. these r just my observations.. im happy for u that u got such good mileage enhancement..Originally posted by achu View PostGot my third service done....switched to shell AX7 10W40 semi synthetic oil. Totally like the oil!! the bike is so smooth.....and now mileage increased from 37 to 44 !!

Tyre, Air Filter n Oil Filter
Hi all U RTR lovers..
This is an usual problem that most of us face about the mechanics.. hardly find any mechanic trustworthy.. all of them intentionally or unintentionally tend to forget or mess up some or the other thing while servicing our vehicle. and this time odd i've made my mind to do n purchase most of the parts and lubes myself. so that i can atleast manage to fix them myself (not all) n the rest get it done by a good mech in front of my eyes. after the previous service my bike kind of seems to b very sluggish, n the time for my next service is almost there..
So, now i would really appreciate some expert advice from u on certain things.
Firstly, Plz suggest me the best Engine Oil (preferably Fully Synthetic) for RTR 180, along with it im planning to go in for K&N oil filter.
Secondly, the rear tyre of my bike is some what worn out n has u all know its not the best of the tyres for this bike as it doesn't hold proper grip in wet conditions. So kindly suggest me a good make with better grip n durability.
Lastly, the air filters. i've the craze for sporty performance, sporty sound n stuff. but my concern is would a K&N filter last long n perform the way it initially does in the beginning over a long period of time? n also would it effect the vibration of the rtr?
I would love to know ur views in the above regards n help me make my Meany Beast even more Meaner with good n long lasting health.
Thanks..Abhishek N Rai

About the oil change, I was planning to shift to semi-synthetic/synthetic, but should I do such experiments before such a long trip?

Motul is the best option available if you can shell 725INR per litreOriginally posted by abhirairtr View PostFirstly, Plz suggest me the best Engine Oil (preferably Fully Synthetic) for RTR 180,
Are you sure that any K&N oil filter will fit RTR and you are going to shell out 10 times the price of OEM filter, think about itOriginally posted by abhirairtr View Postalong with it im planning to go in for K&N oil filter.
I myself is looking for tyres and personally I am getting inclined towards Pirelli SDOriginally posted by abhirairtr View PostSecondly, the rear tyre..... better grip n durability.
This one is my fav topic. Just for the sound you want to go for K&N, ask @AbhishekCh why he removed the filter. I personally would never suggest K&N until its a twin cylinder churning out enough bhps. Rather get Joel's FFEOriginally posted by abhirairtr View PostLastly, the air filters....... vibration of the rtr?
Go for semi synthetic of a good brand (Motul. Shell. Castrol)Originally posted by prateekm View PostHaha!

Got New 180 Today
Hi Guyzz, got new 180 non ABS today. Headlight design is uninspiring but DRLs make it somewhat likable. Other than headlight all design touches are a welcome change over previous model. Until yesterday had no plans to go for it but i dont know why it just happened today
. Was thinking to get a R15 V2.0 or CBR 150R but the wait to save the money was giving me hard times, so here is the result. Will go for a proper 250 sports bike after a year

Yeah i guess so......i went to amba and they were like they never even heard of twin electrode spark plug......i was just hoping to increase the mileage whic everyone says will go up by 1 or 2Originally posted by Rtrlover83 View Post^^Stick to the stock Bosch plug. It's the best one for our bike. Try to replace it every 10K km.
You could buy 4 of those for the price of 1 Iridium plug by NGK which BTW does not come with a twin electrode setup.
So, what say? When I Ride my bike I don't feel like a common man.

A friend is using MRF Vyde, but somehow it doesn't give that confidence on wet surface plus 120 profile would be a little heavy, try searching for R15 V1a rear tyre.Originally posted by abhirairtr View PostThanks prateek2210.. ur kind of framing me well to my ideas.. regarding the tyres. i heard that mrf zapper Y 120/80 or 100/80 r good. wat r ur reviews on that? n also if u could brief me on y @AbhishekCH got his filters off, then it would b great..
K&N actually gives sound....that's it. You will love the sound in the initial days but later on the sound will irritate you . On top of it as I said IMO K&N works well in higher cc bikes where there is opportunity to get more juice out of the bike. Again with this you need to upjet the bike, which I am scared of
