Hey guys, how do you bear handlebar vibrations during long trips? Do you fit a sponge handle grip or something like that?


Is it the constant tik tik tik sound? If that's the case, I too have started to get it( Hyperedge, around 4.5k km). I think in mine it's emerging from that plate near the handlebar with RTR160 sticker on it. If you get it solved, please let me know what you did.

Not constant, comes in bouncy road conditions. I also think its from the same location which you mentioned. Will check it and will let you know.

Thanks. In mine, it occurs when ridden(at almost all speeds), when pushed or when brake is applied suddenly or when the right mirror is turned with force, even if the engine is off. Basically any sudden movement causes it. It remains silent if the vehicle is stationary or no sudden movement is given.

hey guys wanted to know if anyone has put a NGK iridium spark plug for their bike..could you please give your opinion about it,does it make any difference?

Wear some gloves and ride above 6k rpm, this can solve your problem.

Today bunked office and was on bed all day "listened to lazy bones today". In evening when boredom reached to its extreme ran off with my Beast. Was in radius of 400 mtrs of home and the air was just mind blowing. I stopped some 100 mtrs from home under a street light and called my cousin who rides my RTR 160 now. He reached there and I was on phone with my office admin, suddenly a cop came on a pulsar 180 and passed by us by taking a good look of the bike. We both started talking with each other and that cop again came back and stopped by us. First question was "where is the registration number" and I answered "Just bought it today". Then inquired about bike cost of the bike and explained little about his pulsar as well. We were busy in setting clocks in our bikes and he also joined us for a while. I didn't want any problems so I took him in confidence and after some talking he went away. Intention of that Cop is still not clear to me but who cares, will call my dealer tomorrow and will check about registration.

Honestly I have not found anything far exceptional than the stock one except this that I have heard Iridium plugs lives longer. My first stock plug was changed at 13k kms, will get the recent one at 30k kms (current 27k kms)

To be honest I have not felt that much vibes apart from the same bracket that you quoted (5k-6.5k rpm)

Takes minimum 7 days and max I don't know. We can ride with Temp number in city limits for 30 days only if we have all the other papers and the bill with us.

Why did you change your tank ?
I am currently using a RTR 180 ABS and i am facing a problem with the petrol tank. The paint below the petrol lid is pealing off. They told me that its because of water and they also tried applying a layer of paint on it but the problem still persists. Should i ask for a petrol tank replacement ?

I doubt they'll replace, but try your luck! Always wipe off the area below petrol lid now and then as water condenses there.

Guys i have a problem with my RTR180. Actually every major or minor problems have been solved by the SVC mechanics till now but i am experiencing a weird "khad khad" sound resembling to knocking whenever i accelerate hard. i dont rip my bike hard,shift gears arnd 4.5k rpm. I use Castrol Power1 semi and that sound is lowest whenever bike has been just serviced. i also feel that pickup has dropped. Please help. I have been trying to rectify this problem since last three times i have visited SVC.

i got my first service done. Had opted to use Vavoline 20w40 this time as i dint get motul or gulfpride in our area. all we have is castrol here .

I told the fellow to keep the bike ready after servicing and the oil change should be done when i return to collect the bike as i wanted to have my own engine oil running.

The service person tried to threaten me saying usage of other brands of oil will void warranty and its written in the manual. I re-read to make sure such non-sense isnt there anywhere and took the manual back to the guy when i went to pick up the bike. I asked him to show where is it written about the engine oil in recommended lines (4T) will void the warranty and he calmed down.

What the SVC people are saying for this sound? Are you sure its not coming from the piston?

Honestly they will never allow any other oil. Try going to the svc next time, you will have to repeat the same steps again
