Hi,
I want to change the front tyre of my RTR 160 (2013). I am considering Zapper FY1, FY2 and FX1. FY1 is available in 90/80 but other two are available in 100/80 only.
Which of them is best wrt dry/wet grip and cornering stability? Will be doing monsoon rides in Sahyadris.
What's the pros/cons of upsizing?
Zapper FY1 without any doubt. Even though it is one profile smaller. It offers the best grip in any conditions. I have literally tried to skid the tires in wet, dry, gravel and corners. But its is rock stable. The only issue is the speedo error increases a little bit. The initial few kms you might feel the bike leaning a bit more because of lower profile. Grip wise and performance wise you wont regret. I don't know about other two but its definitely is bigger profile than stock. I don't see any advantage of a bigger profile for the Rtr rims.
Other option would be zapper fs 90/90-17. That would be a perfect fit and it provides decent grip in all conditions.
No Ownership reviews/thread on Xbhp or anywhere on the internet. This is a mystery.
I'v seen at least 5 RTR200 on road. Bookings were open in B'lore in April itself and many bikes were delivered. After that there is/was a waiting period for delivery. Some dealers had stopped bookings a few weeks ago (not sure of the exact time line).
Here is the ownership thread :- https://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcy...tr-200-4v.html
I have an year old RTR (8500 km on odo). For the past few days (weeks?), the engine stops randomly. When I start the bike again, the idling rpm hovers below 1000 and dies as soon as I touch the accelerator (even the faintest touch kills the engine). The bike refuses to start for some time. The only work around I have found so far is to manually adjust the idling screw and start the bike. The bike then starts normally and idles at around 1400-1600 rpm. After a few minutes, the idling rpm shoots to above 2000 rpm (probably since I have increased it earlier) and I have to adjust it back to around 1400 manually. Just before the engine stops, I can feel loss of power and jerks as if the bike is about to run out of fuel. This happens randomly and I cannot replicate this at the SVC. The guys at the SVC say that the bike is okay and they would look into it the next time I service my bike. I am unable to zero-in onto the cause. The only change I have made to my bike is changing the oil to TRU4 synthetic. I have ridden for around 1900 km after the oil change (including a 700 km trip). For the first 1500 km, I noticed no issues. The problem cropped up recently. Can someone please help me what I should get inspected/repaired?
^^^ looks more like an electrical issue for me. Maybe the rains would have shorted out some electrical part and thus the bike is not able to adjust to the irregular electric interference. Check the electricals like the battery switches etc... If everything is fine, then culprit might be tuning or fuel blockage due to adulteration.
Or might be the fuse.... Replace the fuse first and see if this improves.
Devil99 : The head will leak in continuous riding or riding at high revs. Use 2 gaskets to minimise it. apachefan : Afr has gone, the idle rpm should be 1100-1200.
Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

As prateek2210 bhai pointed out, this seems to be an AFR issue. Inspect your spark plug and see if it's unusually blackish or white-ish. If so, setting the AFR correctly will solve the problem. You can do this yourself, or take it to a reputable mechanic.
See also if the spark plug cap is properly in place.
Thanks ajextreme prateek2210 and cep. I've contacted the SVC. They took the bike and said they would inspect the electricals first and if everything seems fine, they would inspect the carb settings. They suspect that the screw and spring setting which is used to adjust idling is faulty. I would update after I get the bike back. Thanks everyone.
