Also reached a new milestone on my CD100. Excuse the image quality. Picture was clicked during heavy rains. ODO stands at 2.9 Lakhs now. Planning a major rebuild before 3 Lakh KM anniversary.

    • Thinking of doing a teardown rebuild in December.

I was even able to source the Mikuni Carb jets and rebuilt my carb. Getting a steady average of 70.3kmpl as well.

Have some structural improvements planned for next week. Stay tuned.

My CD100 in it's 2022 avatar. Notice the clearlens HF Dawn headlamp which replaced the previous Pulsar Classic setup. Also the complete front end is now from the HF Dawn (same forks as Splendor). Did a complete engine overhaul in 2021 December and I expect the engine to perform another 80-90K KMS without any issues. I have overhauled the factory carb using a repair kit and have been getting a steady average of 71kmpl. The lowest I've got is 64kmpl and the best being 79kmpl. Have been unable to get the motorcycle repainted owing to personal time constraints.

In an age of BSVI and Fi, the same fill it, shut it and forget formula of the CD100 still stands the test of time and has proven to be the most study motorcycle that Hero Honda ever built. A lot of part are still from factory, especially the mudguards which have been under constant care over the years.

Will be oping for a dual tone Horn fitment soon and there are plans on adding aux lights to help with the night commutes as well. The street lights are now LED or white lights here and that a screwed up on most of the visibility here.

            • Ah! I visited this page almost after 7-8 years. Time flies. So does life. What remains constant is joy(bike, not joy in life). Was thinking of doing a cosmetic rebuilt and look like factory. But well i don't feel like.opening a perfectly working bike.

Well lots of water has flown under bridge and biking has changed a lot in these many years.

Joy is chugging at 4.75 lacs with o issues.

              • 10 years ago I was highly active in this thread. But time changes. My cd dawn is working very fine in the home town. At 1.3 lakhs. Dad ride now a days. I ride when I visit there and service it. Registration renewed twice. After riding FZ25, cd dawn feels very light. Smooth as new. Sound butter smooth. Its fun to ride but I miss torque.

Photo of 2014. Don't have recent one.

                  • Writing in this thread after a few years. My passion pro was sold in 2022. The odometer was at 117,000 kms when I sold it. Recently a week before, I came to know that the bike has crossed 131,000 kms from the present owner.

                      • Back in Nov 2016, I got valve guide changed in Gurgaon. The lathe guy didn't done the work well enough, paid ₹200 for that and guide costed 35 and 37rs. Since then, after 7.5 years, now I opened the head for spark plug thread remake work. The spark plug was stuck, when opened thread damaged. Block packing was leaky and oil all over. Thought to change the piston rings but didn't did. Block is Usha 37k clocked. Would still run well enough.

So I let the piston inside, remove from dowel pin. And installed new block packing (block packing didn't found separately so had to buy packing kit, now I have extra gaskets lying around). Installed new head packing, head seals. Got spark plug thread made at lathe shop for ₹200, very very nice work.

Didn't touched anything at all as it was not needed. Valves were running for only 15k after guide work. Nothing more changed as I think life of a bore and crank is unexpected. They can be over at anytime, maybe in 5k 10k for 20k, God knows when. And then will do complete overhaul. The engine is working very good. Compression is good. Plug and value was brown in color.

The only thing I noticed after fitting and riding, when engine got hot, guides are making noise a lot. I was unaware of this before otherwise I would have got the guides checked at lathe. I am not riding this bike, dad is. The sound got unnoticed of me inside the helmet. T-Chain is DID running since 23k.

I will let it run like this now, will see it in the future when whole engine work will be needed.

                        Half gasket kit ₹117
                        Head packing ₹135
                        Head seals kit ₹55
                        Air filter ₹110

Update: A day before this changed the main stand at home which came for ₹499 earlier it was used to be 307. The center pin/pipe was stuck, me and dad both did the work. Heated with heat gun, bike ko niche sula diya, and dad punched the stand pipe out.

Looking forward to change the head light assembly with new CD Dawn and a LED headlamp running directly with battery. Headlight assembly expected to cost around 580, led 250. A new battery is also needed.
