Bike takes a jerk forward when I switch from neutral to 1st gear in the mornings when bike is cold.
When I ride it for sometime then this issue disappears.
    Yes clutch disengages fully.

When pressing clutch and switching first gear, bike should not move forward. Bike should move only when you release clutch.
      this is the simplest test

When I ride it for like 1-2 KMS then I put 1st gear from neutral then there is no jerk.
During morning starts, before starting the bike, press the clutch fully with your hand and at the same time gently press the kick starter with your leg for 2 to 3 times. Then start the bike and engage the gear. There wont be any jerk.

That indicates your clutch spring is good.
When parked overnight the pressure from clutch springs makes the plates stick together. Pump clutch 6-7 times before starting. The problem will go.

You said about mileage of 38.

Check your spark plug. It will be sorted.
Change it and tune it. Almost most experienced outside mechanics know passion tuning.

Else get it tuned at svc using tachometer.
While making job card enter mileage problem. They will tune, and test it before handing.

This is how my spark plug looks-

Is this sorted? Also I can smell petrol from it.

That looks too rich mixture. Get new plug and test with 2 turns out from fully seated air screw. Color should become brown to grey tan. If u are too new to this search carb tuning method from this thread or inform mechanic to tune it.

Plug is oily , what does your engine oil level say ? Check engine oil levels often and see if it is stable or going low . Plug can also appear wet like that if petrol is flooding the cylinder and you've just removed the plug . Please check if it's oil or petrol that is wetting the plug .

Does it dry up in sometime ? Does it ignite with a flame ? Are you kicking the engine over many times before it starts ?

I did not wait for it to dry up nor did I ignite it with a flame. I just took the photos and put it back. However it was smelling petrol.

Okay , for petrol getting into cylinder in excess like this -
                        i) replace the spark plug with ngk cr7hsa . Take care to seat the new plug correctly . ( 1/2 turn with wrench after careful threading in by hand and fully seated for a brand new plug ).
ii) check ignition current , holding the ignition cable end bare near the engine case and kicked , a strong blue spark should jump the gap . Use good insulated handle pliers to hold the insulated part of wire when you kick .
iii) take the carburetor off the bike and clean it's jets and internal parts . Check the float , float valve , idle and main jet holes , overflow & drain tube holes . Do this yourself , don't give to mechanic - instructions to do this is in this thread itself .

Bike's 5th service would get due in Feb and in book its written that in 5th service spark plug needs to be replaced.

For the carb, I got it cleaned 2 months ago. I think that I am running too rich mixture thats why spark plug is getting fouled.

After getting the spark plug replaced I will tune the carb. 1 turn out and then I will observe the new plug after one week.

Thanks for your answer sir. Really appreciate your help.

Good decision all brother . But your plug is not getting fouled by rich mix . That kind of carbon fouling is not visible in your pics . This is what wet and dry carbon fouling looks like PLUG STUDIO / NGK
So possibly as brother Sibun said , maybe it's just that the plug itself is shorted and gone bad only . So your decision is also good .

Yes, my spark plug does not look like that wet fouled plug on webpage. There are no carbon deposits on mine. Its just wet with petrol.
I also think that its shorted.
Lets see what sibun and jeswin have to say about the plug.

I am still a learner here and a rookie!!. The wonderful members here have trained me a lot. My bike visited the Hero SVC when the odo read 7,500 kms and the dumb mechanic there replaced a part of another bike's. That was the last time I visited SVC. Oh yeah, I visit SVC religiously for insurance renewal. The bike is serviced by myself till today, and for some oil leak problems, I have a friendly mechanic here. He does the job very well.

Regarding mileage problem, let me tell you about my experience. Once I fiddled up with the fuel screw when the odo read 10,000 kms. At that time the spark plug was replaced. Till then, the mileage was 72+ kms, but after that it came down to 50+ kms. At that time I didnt know to adjust the AFR screw. I just knew that Clockwise=Rich, Anticlockwise=lean. So, I use to turn the screw 0.2 turns anticlockwise and check the mileage. My bike use to do 500 kms per week at that time. Slowly the mileage started increasing and one day it became lean, ie, the bike will feel like running out of petrol at lower revvs. Then, I turned the screw about 0.4 turns clockwise and now constantly getting 72+ kmpl. All these trial and error method costed me around 7 to 8 days. With good experience, it is a 5 minute job
