    • Help Needed-Hero Passion Pro

      Hello All,

I am new in the forum and this is my very first thread. I posted this thread before too but I did not put a right subject thats why I think it didnt get approved.

Sorry about that as I had not read rules by that time.

Now coming to the bike, I have a Hero Passion Pro (Nov 2014 Purchased) that has done 3100 KMS, 4 services completed.

Now I am thinking to switch from stock hero engine oil to some other oil because hero oil is not that good and bike becomes harsh soon. I am thinking to go for 10w40 semi synthetic. Please tell whether it would be good for the engine or not. Though recommended is 10w30 but engine becomes harsh just after 500-600 KMS in summers. Please suggest a good engine oil for the bike.

Drain off as much fuel as you can . To do this put the petcock in reserve position , put the carburetor drain tube ( that dangles underneath it ) into a drain container ( old pet bottle ) and slowly unscrew the carburetor drain screw with screwdriver . Fuel shall flow out into the bottle until tank is empty .
Remove side panels & seat . Unclip the fuel-level meter connector wire on right ( small white 2-pin clip ) . With a plier move down the spring cir-clip on the fuel hose ( any one end ) and pull off the hose . With #12 spanner undo the only one bolt holding the tank to the frame just near the seat . Lift-up and pull back the tank away from the bike frame and put it on a old towel or like . Now remove the petcock valve below the tank with spanner and the tank cap . Drain off remaining fuel as much as possible . Wash inside the tank with surf-water and then plain water , drain out and set the tank aside to dry in sun for one or more days until it's completely dry inside . Clean the tubular mesh filters in the petcock . Reassemble and fit back , fill fuel .
Bit laborious and time taking but quite simple , since I've managed to do by myself several times
This is something everyone has to do once every one or two years , because water SHALL accumulate in the tank below the petrol , no matter how much careful you are . Every time you fill petrol , you get a drop or two of water with it .

          Hello All,
My Passion Pro handlebar and front wheel vibrate heavily on idle. The vibrations disappear when RPMs are increased. Could this be because of poorly tuned carb? My bike has done 3100 KMS. Please tell a solution to this problem.

Its common I guess. My bike's handle bar also vibrate a bit in idle alone. Once it starts moving, it disappears. Or, if the throttle is slightly raised during idle, there will be no vibrations.

Is the vibration too much that it annoys you?

Nope its not that much vibrating but I was just a bit concerned about it since I didnt know if its common with others too or just happening with me.
              Thanks for your answer

Also, I want help on carb tuning. My bike is returning just 38KMPL which I feel is pretty low. I always drive in economy range 40-50 kmph.
I want to know how many turns on fuel screw from the leanest position would be good to get a better mileage from it.
                Please help

38 kmpl? are u sure.. use (reserve2-reserve1)/ltr of petrol method. I heard splendor can return 60kmpl.
Turn the screw half turn anticlockwise (open utility box and view that air screw in carburetor)-this will lean the mix. Dont screw up that too much. Maintain 35psi and 25 psi in back and front tyres

I dont have Splendor, I have Passion Pro. And I always use reserve to reserve method.
I will get the air pressure checked tomorrow, thanks.

                        Hello All,
I have an issue with my Passion Pro. Whenever in the morning I start the bike and put the first gear, the bike takes a forward jerk even when the clutch is fully pressed.
When I ride it for like 1-2 KMS then I put 1st gear from neutral then there is no jerk.

Are you using the recommended engine oil grade in manual? what is the clutch lever freeplay, is it too loose?
Check engine oil level per manual.
While it is normal that clutch sticky in new bike at cold, wait for it to run-in

Yes I have everything stock at the moment. 10w30 Hero Engine Oil. Clutch is good, it has very less freeplay.

Did the clutch disengage fully when the bike was new? To my knowledge , in honda bikes clutch doesn't disengage totally even when fully pressed, esp at cold... Slight wheel rotation will be there, in center stand. But the bike should NOT move forward when clutch is pressed . It indicates svc guys may have messed ur clutch.
