Thanks for the offer.. But right now the bike is dismsntled so that is not an option. Let me assemble it first.

please help me with the following :
          1. As the bike is consuming engine oil , I'm thinking of getting the cylinder kit changed , thought about oversize but that seems to have workmanship issues.
Now please tell me about the parts to be changed , any other manufacturer or OEM .
Does cylinder kit also contain bore +head , Piston , valves, rockers etc. ?
          Approx. cost ?
          2. What other things should I change to ensure that this time it lasts for some good time ?
          3. Any Precautions ?

          it's glamour (2007) and odometer reading = 33650
Shoeb bhai, Sibun ji , psr sir ....other members , please help

Ok.. Small update. It seems my friend got ripped royally. We measured the block and its on first os. I checked the rings and they read .25 as well. So is it advisable to go for the 2nd os?

My suggestion is -Get a genuine Usha bore kit .
For less than Rs.1400/- you get peace of mind, performance and mileage like a new bike if everything else has been inspected and repaired as you have mentioned in your other post.

Check Paul's wonderful DIY on complete engine overhaul. http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post927101

Before you install a new bore kit, make sure - Crank is in excellent condition/rebuild if necessary with new con-rod and bearings, valves & seats are good and after installing the new kit, fine tune the carburetor .
Crank pin should always be removed and installed using a press and not by hammering it, after re-building the crank it should be re-balanced.

Replace timing chain , sprockets , rocker arms, pins and valve oil seals.
Replace copper neutral patti and make sure it is installed correctly.
Counter-shaft's top most gear's chamfered side should face the clutch side.(http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...psae8d3e9d.jpg)

Replace counter-shaft and kick oil seal.
Get OE oil seal kit and packing kit.
Open the carburetor, replace the o-ring on the air screw and black heat insulator(flange ), clean all the jets and passages thoroughly.
Clean the silencer and exhaust ports as the engine was burning oil. Check all other parts like chain, air-filter, spark-plug, ignition coils etc.

Remember that splendor is a very simple bike and most people while repairing it make simple mistakes which usually goes unnoticed. Small and simple things make a lot of difference. I just can't express my happiness on seeing so many members here going the DIY way.

Sibun should be able to advise you better than me but I will try reply to you by message tomorrow.

                Thank you for your input.

Here is the list of things already done. Crank has been rebuilt with a new rod and bearings. All gear box bearings have been changed with skf ones. The clutch hub, wheel, center, pressure plates and friction plates have been changed. Packing, o-ring and oil seal kits are new and are in place. Timing chain kit (roll-on) which includes bushes, spring and chain has been installed. neutral plate has been changed. Whole valve tain including cam shaft, valve kit, oil seals, springs, locks, rockers, timing pinion, tappets and pins are new. Carb has been cleaned. Engine oil had seaped in to the carb somehow.

So most of the stuff you have suggested has been already taken care of.

The owner is more inclined to rebore than to go for a new block. Its his choice so i cant do much now other than get it bored with a .50 oversize usha piston kit.

Tomorrow hopefully i wld assemble the cylinder. Then would clean the secondary air injector and exhaust. Fingers crossed..

If you want to go for boring get it done for Grand motors in cuttack or Kapoor motors in cuttack, both do near company spec boring. Regarding piston get USHA 0.50 size from same dealer as mentioned as there are lots of fake in market.

Planning to change the valves next week. Meantime my mech had loosened the tappet. A kit kit sound is coming from the engine now. However compression of engine has become very uncertain now, sometimes the kick is very hard to press sometimes it is completely slack. The engine is still coming to life with a single kick & no issues with pickup. I am requesting for a last minute suggestion from you all.
I am noticing a new problem for the last two days. I had taken fuel (i.e. 3-Litres) to reduce the percentage of 2T already in my fuel. On starting the engine overnight a little bit of smoke is coming out from exhaust. It vanishes within 5-seconds. I had noticed the same thing again today morning. I am bit confused over this issue I had not noticed this earlier.
Looking for expert opinion. Thanks to all.

ID:	1855934. How much do you fill .Same as recommended?.My tubes are new. The shop with that red color machine used to fill 30 psi f and 40 psi back. My mechanic told me that this too high pressure is the reason front my front shock damage..and said to it to keep it low 23 psi f. My problem is that the pressure seems to be reduced after a week .Is it due to diffrent machines showing diffrent reading?.How much do i fill?.

The smoke is because of 2T that you have added. Once the engine heats slightly the residual 2t in bore and silencer gets burnt and thus smoke stops. Yes loosening the tappets will increase compressions as valves will remain closed completely when piston is at top. regarding variable compression then it is because at what position the engine stops is that matter. If it stops at top or at exhaust stroke naturally kick will feel soft. If it stops at compression stroke then kick will feel hard.

Yours is splendor NXG so it will be having roller bearing on the rockers. Unlike ours which has flat rockers and thus tappet clearance is 0.05 mm on both yours tappet clearance is 0.10 mm on both rockers. So get that adjusted properly otherwise mechanic will adjust it like old models.

It is one of the best semi-synthetic oils at that price. I am a regular user in my joy. One of the best value for money oil in market. Regarding that oil you have posted then it is diesel engine oil, but no problem it will run very well as splendors can run on any oil. I myself now using shell rimula in my joy now.

                                Sibunjee,
At last the valves are changed. But bad luck I could not stay with the mech due to my official urgency. I had to rely on the mechs version, Pair of valves , Piston Rings, Timing chain tension rod apart from lathe works, packing, gasket, oilseal & O-ring changed. Total bill charged Rs.1530.00. Got back the vehicle yesterday night. Till now the running is Ok. Although the mech had advised me to run the vehicle at moderate speed for a couple of days to allow the valves & piston rings to set in properly.
I had asked my mech the reason for changing Piston rings ? ...........the reason for the same is blackening of spark plug from the side although the tip is grey (mech's version). Depending on BajrangBali now. Although I had asked my mech to give me the replaced parts. Lets see.....
