• Re: small trip on sunday

Hi, I'm posting here after long time, Bad news from my side.

My 13 year old First Generation Hero Honda Passion met his 1st major accident this X-Mass Eve, It stopped by truck at its back which is stationary and it remain the same. This thing done by my nephew who recently learn to ride and thank God all these thing happen in front of me and his father. My nephew got very negligible amount of muscle cramp and the truck got Zero damage.

My beloved took all the heavy lifting.

After this incident I almost drove 30km to reach my home and my ride prove once again its reliability.

Now the list of damage parts :

1.Front mudguard totally gone
2.Head light reflector - Gone (but the bulb is still functional but it loose the aim though)
3.Headlight Fairing - Gone
4.Handle Bar + RVM slightly bend.
5.During this Landing / Stopping saw some engine OIL Leakage from the crankcase - I hope nothing.

Now I want to know,

a. Being a 1st gen model The Headlight Fairing contains the number plate, Is this fairing still available for as spare ? Is it still in production ?

b. Reflector was non halogen type - If it still available ?

c. I hope mudguard is available ?

--------

My bike can be viewed at here

Sorry to hear that about your bike .
a) for all spares visit Bansal-Motors ( near Jyoti cinema hall ) . I think you shall get all parts you need .
b) no problem in fitting current OE halogen bulb in your reflector .
c) mudguard is available .

Thanks for replying Pinaki Ji.

Are those stuff available readymade ? Earlier I dealt with Bansal, they don't bother to entertain Individual Customer.

Don't want to sell stuff unless customer carried the sample piece.

My problem is only carrying the remaining piece Mud Guard ?

Yes.....planning to replace the fork oil and oil sil too. After the crash I feel the front tyre lost some air, Is it chance there some kind of Wheel RIM bend ?
But Bike can be driven by completely remove both hands from the handle bar.

-----------------------------------------

Edit : If the Stock Headlamp Fairing + Refelector not available / manufactured anymore what will be my option ?

Which other Headlamp will fit in my bike which is 1st Gen Passion ?

(As I see in my locality there are many Round Headlamp 1st Gen Passion )

The chances of wheel bends are there you can inspect it by running your hands in the corner of the rim. Is your tyre and tube fine? When you change the oil seals check if the tube has any scratches also get the oe oil seal.

Front tyre & tube seems good....still hard but less hard compare to before the impact.

Sorry for you bro. I don't think there will be a problem if the bike is steady with no hands. Doing the above quoted things would make you bike fine. I think its little difficult to get red colour fibre items for passion. Donno about your state.

I believe there is almost Zero Percent chance to get Red Headlight Fairing for my bike + Non Halogen Type Reflector.

This bike was designed when the Golden Period of HH and then they produced best looking bike in this country (Time was after CBZ released -> This Passion released-> 1st Clear lense Headlamp in bike segment) . See how brilliantly they positioned the front number plate under head light + matching body graphics. This Headlight assembly pull out from the market long time ago AFAIK.

My bike may not support the 35/35 w Halogen bulb due to it weak alternator.

Yes bhai , you are right - since Bansal is the authorised Hero parts stockists and their main customers are all the Hero service centers they are a bit callous towards individual customers . But with polite seriousness and patience they can be very helpful too ( from my experience with them ) . Try to visit them in the early evening when wholesale customers are absent . Also they can order from hero and get any parts you need against an advance .... something that shall take ages from the service centers . If exact colour and type of those parts are absolutely not to be found , almost all the newer model parts should be directly fit-able . Don't worry too much about the change - you can't keep external parts like fairings and mudguards forever .
Chances of bend rim is almost nil with spoke wheels and if that happens the wheel would wobble quite obviously . There is no chance of air leak from tyre on these wheels owing to any bend etc . Just check the fork tubes for bend or any obvious "tap" on the chrome surface , any hit marks on the frame or steering column and any small tears on the tyre . Baas .
35/35 watts halogen bulb ( Halonix OE from hero ) is most definitely supported , buy it even if you have to change the holder . That is because halogen lamp actually draws less power than the old incandescent type and produces much better illumination .

Sorry to hear about this incident but I am glad everyone is safe.
Pinaki ji has answered all your queries wonderfully.
That red color is rare, so it is better if you head over to the authorized distributor directly and place an order for the parts if same color is not available.
FYI, passion+'s fairing and mudgaurd will fit perfectly but the color won't match.

That tyre has seen its better days, replace it as soon as possible. Also, remove the rubber flap, it restricts air flow in city traffic.

P.S- I still admire those Hero bikes manufactured in 2001-2004.
The paint quality was top notch which can't be matched by today's water based paints. But hey, it is eco friendly and less hazardous.

Thanks for suggestion,

Yes the front tyre is the Stock Tyre which came with bike, Till date No cut or puncture yet. So I didn't bother to change.

On a second thought Is it possible to install any round headlamp from Hero Accessories ?

This thread has been dead for days and no photo and no technical discussion has been going on.

Last sunday my friend who has joined my previous company in place of me had requested me for visiting the site for some problems. I visited him and solved his problem.

In the meantime did some photoshoot.

On the way to the place a Shri Ram temple is situated and since it is situated at such a secluded place absolutely love it and thus paid a visit:-

neel- Sorry to hear about your accident. Glad that everyone is safe. Never give your bike especially old prized possesion to new riders or those who do not care for it. I never give my bike to anybody.

For the headlight get a new visor, will be available in that color or get it in any color and paint it from a painter in your bike color with 2K paint.

For reflector get the new one that is HS1 as it provides better light and better focus and also wide range of bulbs are available.

Mudguard, if you do not get a new of same color, buy one in black and get it painted from a good painter in your bike color using 2K paint. When they paint a new part of other color what they do is just scrub it with a fine emery paper and water so that the lacquer coat is removed and then they apply the new paint and after it dries they apply a layer of lacquer. Show them your bike and they can completely match the paint.
shoeb- You have not been posting here for long.

Let me add here that from last two sundays my bike was feeling odd. On heating up it was missing and sometime was shutting down. Yesterday night it just refused to start and when checked at road side the current from hi-tension wire was red.

Bike on heating missing means the excitor coil has gone. At night anyhow reached home. Today morning decided to take it to mechanic as i have misplaced my magnet puller and couldn't locate it.

Took it to mechanic, on the way heated and has to stop and then proceed.

At mechanic opened the magnet and changed the coil. Bike became smooth and the stroke in bike was back. It felt awesome to ride back.

Om another note the crank noise is slowly increasing. Some day will just buy a new crank, bore kit and new clutch plates and open the engine. Be sure that lots of photo will follow.

Thanks for your valuable suggestion/post as usual.

I never usually handover any of my ride to anybody, but being close relative and not being rude I don't have any other choice else I need to give my CBR250 and in that case I will be dead by now. I'm expecting a bike fall or bruised leg guard sure but didn't expect blown headlight dome but somehow he managed it in a deserted playground with parked trucks.

If I able to find 2k paint are those long last or just fade ? Can you confirm ?

Also HS1 means the bulb right ? Like H4 or H8 ?
