We had TVS Centra and Kinetic BOSS which had similar horizontally mounted engine like Splendor (even almost same cubic capacity), but none of them were success.

Thank you Sibun sir. You have taught me "Handle bar grommets". Its good to hear that you have changed your handle bar

grommets only once. I read your Joy's review this week. Wow, it was amazing, and wishing you all the very best to write

your 6 lac km review also. I read in your review that your joy has MFR headlights. I googled it, but could not find any.

So, can you please elaborate and explain it?

jeswin- By MFR reflector means that it is multi focal reflector. Look at your passion pro reflector, you will see that the reflector is not plane but having lots of creases which causes the reflector to have many focus than a single focus. The glass is plain without any obstruction. Now look at any old bike like CD 100 SS or yamaha rx100, you will see that the glasses of those are corrugated but the reflector is plain.Joy was the first bike along with passion to sport multifocal reflector from Hero stables. And be sure 6 lacs kilometer review will be up.@ybedakar- Wait for some days and you will notice the difference in some days. Also the pictures that you have posted is the mahindra centuro engine as shoeb2015 had posted correctly SatSon- Yes the kinetic boss and TVS centra had almost same architecture engine in their stable. But Tvs fiddles it with introducing CCVTI in that bike which caused a lot of problem in the head of the bike.Kinetic boss was an excellent bike, it returned 80+ kpl mileage and also had faster acceleration that CD 100 engine. But the thing that killed it was harshness and no support from company. You will be surprised to know that all the present boss that is left runs on Hero bore, timing chain, camshaft, everything.

could be a sticky float/blocked overflow pipe on the carb.. i once had a similar issue and had to get the carb cleaned and air filter replaced on my Dio.
Otherwise its Crank case breather pipe would be my guess.. (not sure how its routed on the splendor)

The carb may be needing a clean - not done in the last 3 years . Maybe I'll just clean it now and replace the float valve pin/needle thingy - anyone knows the part number & cost ?

The crankcase breather is routed through a valve which doesn't go bad so easily - so I'll check that last of all .

I think just cleaning the carb completely should suffice..

Yes yes, now i understand. Moreover, i had a mind setup that the bike should be changed for once in every 5 years. After seeing your odometer count, i have determined that i am not going to sell my passion pro at any cause! Thank you

Clean it soon mr. There is no need to change valve pin needle, I havnt changed in 10 years, so u don't need to anyway...

I like your decision of keeping your bike. Otherwise in todays date you will find very rare (almost negligible) people who would be in a mindset of keeping their bike for a very long time. Otherwise simply sell and get a new one, it changes like they change a smartphones todays.

Did you check/smell the engine oil ?

There are two things which can cause this issue, had a talk with sibun yesterday.

Valve pin, float.... is not the reason.

                      Hope you remember I own a splendor+

Always wanted to fit a tacho for my splendor.

Donno why but wanted it since it looked cool.

Had a visit to chor bazzar recently. Got a classic cbz speedo for 600

Chose cbz speedo since it had both fuel guage and tacho.

Today spent 3 hrs to fit it and it was a success

                      Bike reved to 9k rpm

Ok , I checked that just now - no petrol smell in oil at all & and oil level is ok , just between max & min marks where filled to about 4 months and 1400 kms back . Oil is due for change now . Run is low nowadays owing to changed work schedule but I stick to my oil change schedule anyway .
What do you 2 think about the petrol smell in the airbox then ? Any idea ?

I completely agree with you sir. I have a subject "Quality Concepts in Design" now. While i was collecting notes for it in the internet, i read somewhere that "any products that are manufactured should decay or the life of the product should end within 5 years, so that the customer will buy a new product.. something like that. So, you people have disproved it and i am on my way for it!!

In the ht coil or ignition coil under the tank.
