"All I/we can suggest you is to change the meter lights which runs on AC to led. Also disconnect the 5w taillight from AC and connect to DC along with your leds. Change reflector if its gone bad. This modification will bring a lot improvement in light output. Also if you want more then change the bulb to HS1 Philips or Osram Silverstar both are good (check my signature down below and you find the link). Also buy a regulator of bullet machismo and change it. It just a regulator not rectifier, your rectifier to charge the battery will remain the same OE. Then when you will see the output, you will love it. Everyone in your friend circle will be amazed. The output will surely blind the oncoming traffic."

.
I enquired with the Bullet Showroom reg the Bullet Machismo's Regulator, they said they have 3-4 models of Bullet Machismo's (pre1998, 98-2005 models, 2005-08 models an later -ons) & all of them around Rs 320/- to Rs 380/-. I would be really thankfull if you can send me the part number for this regulator.

Regards,

Buy of SWISS make. Unfortunately I didn't know to which model of machismo it belongs to. I'm out of state from 7 months. But I found one link for you and this is exactly which I used.

Take the pic of this into your mobile and get it. It has just two wires attached. You will also find bigger one, those are very coslty and don't even go for it because those will not work. Only this is the one which is used.

If u mean from where to get then u can find from any bullet spare shop.
And u can fit this with headlight resistor located under the seat.

Dear friends,
My mechanic friend told me Dont wait for my bike to get warm up ,
instead drive in low gear till the engine warms up.
Is this a good way to warm up. And by driving in lower gear means to drive the bike in second gear for half km ?,,

I always let the engine warm-up for at-least 20 secs and in the mean time I put my gloves on and fasten the strap of my helmet. Be gentle for the first 2 kms and don't lug the engine.
Our's is a horizontal engine so oil reaches head within no time.

It is just below the petrol tank but to get access you will have to remove both the tank as well as the seat.

I opened the front forks (again!) . There was no trapped air , nothing wrong with the fitting , I had my mechanic come over and confirm that too . In the end as per his advice I reduced the oil in each leg by 7ml , so there is like 153ml of oil in each leg now . It's much better now , but still I am a light guy and it's a bit faster on the rebound than my liking . This fork oil from gulf must be a much heavier weight oil than used by Hero factory . Since nothing else is wrong with the forks and yet it doesn't feel like what it was like from factory , what else could it be ?
I wish gulf ( and everyone else ) would publish the exact weight of the fork oils they sell , and I could know exactly what oil Hero-Honda is using in their factory and service refills of the front forks .

Pinaki da i am using gulf fork oil in my xtreme and valvoline in splendor, both at 160ml, bit stiff but driveable over rough roads. Did you check for bent fork tube and clogged oil galleries, i got mine straightened on press and they are doing fine now, running 155ml is most suitable i think. You are correct about manufacturers not mentioning oil weight, castol and motul does but they come in 20w grade. Someone posted that hero is using veedol fork oil as oe.

Yes , no bends in the tube and I did clean out all the parts with kerosene and dried and checked the oil holes to be clear before fitting - so those can be ruled out . That "bit stiff" is bothering me - I want it just like it came from factory . Do you know if Hero is selling fork oil at their parts counters and authorised dealers ?

I can absolutely get the bit stiff issue, it is very much evident in smooth roads or highways. I visited almost all svc in my city as well as raipur. Most of them stock some unknown brand which smells cheap and packaging is downright ugly. sibun can confirm about oil brands, btw removing any oil further will make fork too soft and hit to bottom easily as i tried that on my splendor, most low i went was 150ml, that made fork Almost like xtreme's.

The OE oil used in shock is 10W oil which only VEEDOL and ESCORTS supply. VEEDOL is impossible to find and Escorts will be easy to find. running ON ESCORT SHOCK OIL ON MY EXTREME NOW. The hard part can be felt for some days and after some days will become normal. My JOY requires 90 ml in each fork and i use 85 ml while filling, still the shocks feel hard for some days and then soften as oil looses thickness. Nothing to worry continue to use it for some more days.As for my Joy going to do some work this sunday and pray that it turns out good.Although i will be there and my mechanic has also said that he will take personal care of the work, i am a bit tensed. Pray that the work turns out to be excellent.

Hi friends, yesterday my bike started and idled for about 10 seconds and stalled. Then it refused to start.I tried

starting it by using kick start, self start and choke on/off for more than 1 hout, but in vain. I was fed up totally. Then

i called up my mechanic through phone and told the problem. He sent his assistant boy. He too tried to start, but the bike

refused. Then he opened and inspected the spark plug and told that the spark is not being transmitted to the outermost

pin. I did not understand anuthying as usual!! He told to change the spark plug. We went to store and bought a bosch spark

plug (picture attached below). When the new spark plug was fit, the problem was completely gone. The bike runs fine. The

stock plug is NGK.
My questions;
1. What is the life of spark plug? My bike has done only 11 thousand kms.
2. I doubt that the new plug (Bosch Mico) which i bought for Rs. 65 is original or not? Please clarify me.Click image for larger version

Yeah , it's working good on big bumps but when there is a multiple very-small and sharp bumps I can feel that in the handles . i.e the front fork is not acting fast enough . If you get what I mean . This was not the case earlier with the OE oil even when it was very stale .
Doesn't Hero authorised dealers have fork oil that is packaged by them as Hero genuine part with part number etc ?

Yes , I am trying to get used to it - but if it's just a question of refilling with the correct oil , I am willing to do that again . Since now I have enough practice with the front forks to make it an easy job . One guy at the Hero ASC tells me now that the oil that is in the new forks is some Japanese oil of 5w weight . It's even more confusing since fork oil grades are not same as SAE oil grade , since they be graded as hydraulic fluids and these grades which some manufacturer publishes , is an approximation to a nearby SAE grade number . So one company's 10w fork oil may or may not be same viscosity as another's . Problem is the small orifices in the fork that the oil passes thru is designed for the exact viscosity oil it came with . Using a slightly different viscosity oil shall instantly change the dampening character , because now the the oil passes thru these holes at a different speed . Best would be if we could get the fork oil packed by Hero as other genuine parts .

My best wishes for your evergreen Joy .

There is no exact figure for the life of the spark plug . Hero suggests replacement every 12000 kms of use . But that is a general direction and it usually lasts much longer from my experience . However it can also fail or as in your case short-out earlier too - just bad luck . You new plug is alright and it was about time to replace the old one anyway .

I don't think its a problem of oil. In my case, when I fitted a non-original fork pipe, u must have seen a thick washer thing inside in its bottom and its not fixed. Its rotates and has some play. Its hold the fork piston. In my case that washer got more back & forth play and that caused to same kind of noise as described by you previously. And I only came to know about this when I opened the fork. I did predicted many things, re-opened two times to take out any air trapped inside, but nothing helped, until I opened to inspect what's wrong...
And when opened then I found what's wrong inside and to fix that, I had to switched to the original one and that was the time I clicked pics to make a DIY.
So after switching back to the original one my problem was gone.
But your is already a original pipe and that thing can't go kaput. But as I said you have to open it and before you open I would suggest you to check the racer first if its not loose. If racer is fine. Then test the fork by pushing it hard. Sit in your bike, hold the front brake and push down to check if that sound comes. If not then your fork is fine otherwise u would have to open and check what's got wrong inside.
