Sell that pulsar and buy 200ns to see a pulsar actually without engine noise.
And regarding chrome part quality of first gen pulsar, IT IS THE BEST.in my neighborhood, a 2001 pulsar stands on open road, facing excessive sunlight, dust, rain whatever weather can throw.
And still it's exhaust shines more than any chrome Part I've ever seen,

          @ jeswin

          How old is your bike?
It looks as though it came out of the showroom floor yesterday
          Excellent job..!
That air filter is so huge!
And its a paper type so better than a foam type.
Im having ideas on putting it on my pulsar as an experiment....
May I know the price of it?
Im thinking of making a clamp and mounting it on the carb. Directly.
But afraid it will get dirty when exposed to open elements....
Hmmmm have to think some more.... will buy one first of all....price??

            Mr. Divyan,

My bike was bought on february 2013. Its 1 year old now. Thank you for the compliments. Yes, the air filter is quite large. The price is Rs. 138. I bought it from a spare parts store. You can change your air filter to paper element type by taking some advice and suggestions from our well experienced members here. Frankly speaking, I know nothing. I am learning little by little now only.

Regarding that cd100, i suggest you to keep it with you like your pulsar. Some bikes can never be replaced. Agree?

            Sibun sir,

I clearly remember that you have told me to remove the tank cover as it will fade the paint off. But, my dad needs it badly. He is a school teacher and he rides the bike to his school atleast 2 or 3 days in a week. He rides 70 kms up and down. The tank bag carries his books and stuff. Is there any other alternate way? Suggestions please?

The tank will not only fade but the part of tank below the seat will rust as that portion of tank cover doesn't dry quickly.

Best option is to get a side pannier box. Moreover it has got a lock so all your stuff will be secure.

Another option is to get a bungee net on the rear seat. It is not a safe way to carry important objects but will do the job. It is available on ebay for less than Rs.100/-
I am using this on my xtreme.

Also, remove that cover in front of the engine/crash guard. Engine will run cooler if you remove it.

                Wow it looks brand new....
Today i cleaned my foam filter and oiled it with 2 t oil..... that was the only oil I had with me

I am going to buy the paper element filter of a passion pro snd I will put it insode my sir filter box and mount it on the rubber hose that brings it into the carb. Will do it next sunday and will post pictures.

I think the parts bin of hero splendours passions etc are the best quality and easiest to use parts.....can be modded for any bike.
If I ever had to give an award for the best bike in the world it would be a hero splendour.......

I got an opportunity to ride a hero joy the other day... the front shocks were different looking and wer so firm!!
Also the bike was extremely heavy which was a surprise......
What are those shockers in the front? Looked like old bullet shocks.

Divyan brother , don't try to use paper element air-filter if bike's air box was not designed for it . It is not feasible to mount it outside the protected airbox because paper element is instantly rendered useless by moisture . Moreover Hero's paper element filter cannot be directly clamped to the air hose , there is no collar for the clamp to apply .

                    .
                    Yes sir,
I will try to mount it inside the air filter box and will try to design a clamp. Let us see. I will post the design and installation as and when I make it. You all are experts if you think something is wrong then I will remove it,
Right now I have removed the snorkel of the box and past 4k rpm the bike sounds like it has knN installed:P:Px)x)
But I will never put knN in my bike.
It has no benefits apart from the sound nd a hundred losses..
Also sir do you know any filter that has a clamp?

oh dear, does the tank bag cause this much destructions? Then i will remove it as soon as possible. I dont want the formation of rust in my bike. I think that i should go for the box. But it affects the looks of the bike know?. Will purchase the box before long. Bungee cord is a good idea to me. I shall also remove the engine guard as soon as possible.. One question, which model extreme you have and how many kms has it clocked?

You can get them in almost any of the spare parts store. If this oil is available in Tiruvannamalai, then why not in bangalore city?

Today I did a mod on my bike... anyone who has drum brakes can do it.
I used a sand paper on my brake pads and very lighty on the brake hubs... brake bite is better than my front disc.......
                            wheel locking everywhere:P:P:Px)
                            Also did two more mods....
Removed and cleaned my chain with kerosene and then oiled it. (Non o ring chain)
Changed engine oil to motul 3100 gold 20w50
                            Cleaned centrifuge oil filter
Checked clutch plates they are good.
Cleaned and oiled air filter with 2t oil
Did battery maintenance, added distiled water after a long ride (after battery was fully charged)

                            I have a few questions....
I want to clean my carb but I am afraid I will screw it up. Any carb spray that I may use?
My exhaust id 65k kms old, any way to decarb it? It feels very restricted in higher rpms now a days.... (I have switched from an ffe used for 10k kms)

Removing the snorkel is not safe as it allows easy entry for dirt and water . As far as I know only after-market filters uses clamps since they have to fit various models .

                              Brake service - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post887366

No need to clean centrifugal filter so often , once every 10000 kms is ok . This is because the filter can contain quite a large dirt-load without affecting oil pass-thru .

Pulsars carburettor is difficult to service , I found this while servicing my friend's wind-125 . Best you can do is remove the float bowl and jets and clean them and refit . Float hinge pin is difficult and usually impossible to remove . Slide and vacuum diaphragm is easy to remove and clean , but difficult to refit . If that thin rubber gets punctured , bye bye carb . Yes while cleaning you can use a carb spray like Cyclo or 3M etc . http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post701796

Exhausts on 4-strokes are not designed for decarbing , you have to replace them . But then you know the quality of current exhaust .

Replacing my exhaust with current quality!!!,
I will remove the carb next week most probably.
                                Diy coming soon:P
I am thinking of removing my exhaust and pouring kerosene down the wrong end and then leaving it in the sun to dry off.... but it seems dangerous.
A person near my building has an old splendour and it has a shorter chrome exhaust with a very weird note.... il tell you quality.,.. I can still see my face when I go out everyday! Not a blister of rust!
                                divyansh....
