I went a 280 km round trip last month. It was a 1 day ride. The place i visited was 'vedanthangal'. A bird sanctuary is there. So just went there to say hello to the birds. There were a lot of spoon bills, they have migrated here from other continents, i think. some pictures attached below

Some where near a place called vandavasi.

The last 45 km of the road was lonely and scary. It was around 9 pm. There was a check post and since i was new to the route, i enquired the way to tiruvannamalai to a police man. He was also waiting for bus to my destination as his duty was over. Then we rode together and i dropped him in bus stand and went home!

How did the bike perform all the way?
My uncle does some village to village touring on his splendour
He has put a smaller rear sprocket and a larger front sprocket
He says he can cruise at about 80kmph and the engine revs lesser,.,.

          Hi Divyansh,

          Its really interesting to hear.
Could you Pl. elaborate with the no. of teeth on the front Sprocket vs the rear one/ which brand one/ direct fit or any mod required....
and the impact on mileage/pickup before & after.

The bike was normal bro. I was only getting tired more frequently due to the sun's heat. I am not a fast rider. I keep my speeds between 50 to 55 kmph, how long the distance may be!! This was and is the only reason that my friends dont ride with me during college days. I took short breaks around 25 kms to gulp a large amount of water like a camel!

Regarding your uncle's splendor, thats a cool modification that he has made. I am eager to know that how many km does he tour? My friend has an old splendor+ which has clocked more than 90 thousand kms and it can easily cruise at 85 kmph for more than 100 kms continuously! I dont know what boon is there in the engine of splendor.. My passion vibrates like hell after crossing the 60 kmph mark.!

Uncle has used caliber sprokets with holes dont know about the tooth
He says zma sprokets are better but difficult to source
The taller gearing has reduced the pickup considerably
                But the bike cruises better
                Also
Passion is heaver and lower geared than the splendour hence the vibration. Unfortunately the new splendours and passions dont have the steel bore of the old ones hence their blocks dont last as much. Imo.
But I feel taller gearing will make your ride vibration free at higher speeds but the zippyness in cities will be lost

If the source of the oil leak is indeed the drain plug , it can turn out to be a problem . It occurs owing to over-tightening or improper seating of the drain bolt , commonly with the ring-wrench your mechanic used . With the long leverage it provides , it is extremely easy to misjudge the required force ( torque ) and consequently strip the threads on that drain hole . The correct way to do it is to hand tighten the drain bolt as far as you can , then apply a wrench to further tighten it 1/4 ( quarter of a full turn ) . That is, if the squish-washer on the bolt has been already compressed by previous use . If that washer is new , tighten 1/2 ( half of a full-turn ) after finger tight - to compress it . Hand threading the bolt to seat it before applying the wrench also allows you to feel if the bolt seats true and has not cross-threaded . During the next oil change inspect the condition of the threads on the drain-bolt as well as the hole it threads into and replace the aluminium compress washer .

It's ok , anywhere between the max and min marks are alright . I keep it around the middle .

Pulsars RR unit is an excellent quality and long lasting part , so if you intend to use it for actually running the bike , you have invested well . The cheaper alternatives are ok for experimental use only . You don't want your RR to fail in the middle of nowhere now , do you .

It's your bike and your bones , so never mind anyone and ride at speeds that you feel comfy at and can easily control the bike taking into consideration it's capabilities , the road and weather - and then leaving about 10 kmph leeway in the direction of caution . Excellent thing to take frequent breaks and drink a lots of water too . That keeps your body well hydrated and your mind alert , something everyone should be doing while riding in our climate .
I ride my Splendor+ between 60-65kmph max on wide open roads that are smooth and empty too . Splendors run nice at those maximum speeds . Usually between 20-40 kmph in the city . And I am quite happy with it . I feel that my cautious ways is responsible for my survival on the roads for this long . Can't say that about some of my friends and fellow riders whom I miss .

My previous rr unit didnt go bad... I noticed after a battery replacement the battery was not getting charged... battery wala said rr problem so I bough a new one. Still didnt work...
Took it to my bike electrician and voila a broken wire was all the culprit. Fixed it and it was fine. So I have 2 rrs now :P one at home one on bike.

Amazingly kept my tab near my exhaust and the revs showd on the tacho were wrong.... increased the rpm and above 3000rpm the reading is accurate! !!!!!! How the hell does it just listen and tell the rpm???
Will try to post a video

The exhaust sound is cause of the remaining pressure in the cylinder coming out when the exhaust valve opens. And in a four stroke engine, the exhaust stroke is the last stroke after intake, compression and power strokes. In which the intake and compression stroke happens in one crank rotation and the power and exhaust happens in another. In short its math.

And regarding the error at lower revs, its because the exhaust note isnt loud enough to be picked up by your phones mic.

Yes yes sir I knw exhaust strokes and all persuing engineering sir.
My question was only why it was not correct in the lower revs and now I understand that because the exhaust sound is low.
Unfortunately its an app glitch. Ive kept the phone near the exhaust and seen.

Off the topic: LML vespa's regulators are also popularly seen for upgrades in some of the old scooters, which come in 2 wattages
                              1)NV : 96 Wattage.
                              2) Supremo/T5 is 145Wattage.

                              Regards,
                              Sri
Bullet regulator can take a load even more than 100/90W bulb. All bullets pump very huge amount of amps. My father is using 75W of sealed beam in his bullet. So there is no problem in using that regulator.
And at lower rpm; man the work of regulator is to hold up the volts not to let it increase more than its specification. At lower rpm your bulb will only get what is produced by your stator at that time. It doesn't work when volts is lower than 12. When volts increase beyond 12, then regulator come into picture to work.

Your splendor regulator can also work with 60/55W as long as your stator is powerful enough to feed 60W bulb. Then would be no problem.

As far as rectifier is concerned. Let it be the stock one. No worth changing it. 4 amp upgrade from 2.5 is very negligible. As per batteries industry specification, 2.5 amp battery requires only 200 mA to charge *actual charging rate is different. So you can know how much load a 4 amp battery would take.

@LML regulator: man I don't know what is going in your mind and what u r trying to do. You are doing research but not coming to a final resolution to what to use and what not.
Yes there are lots of different types of regulators in market. Yes may be LML regulator would be good/best. But the purpose of all regulators is same. They can't do any magic to increase or to bring a dramatic/intense change in the light output. Your bulb intensity/strength/output will always remain same to its specification, you can't go beyond 12~13v can you? NO! No one has tested different regulators, nor it worth testing it because they can't increase the light output, it is your stator only that can bring a change. The more power it produce; then of course you will have a chance/possibility to use above 35w bulbs. That's the only theory.

                              Apologies if I sound impolite.

If all the regulators perform the same work then why did I changed my regulator to Machismo?
The reason is my stock regulator was output at 12v and Machismo regulator outputs at 12.8v **not clearly remember. So the increase of 0.8v bring the change in light output. Silverstar holds upto 13.2v. Similarly if you can find a regulator which outputs at 13~13.5v then light output will be more. However, it will also reduce the life of bulb and it will may turn to blacken.

If you have anymore more concern, then feel free to question.

                                1) rewind the coil using higher gage wire
                                2) turn the headlamp to dc
                                3) plonk a round sealbeam headlamp from the ambassador and put a 55/60 w bulb
                                4) instead of no, 3 just get an hid with the normal light not the flourocent whiteish one...
                                5) mount two 35 watt or sm led fog lamps with dc setup on leg guards
