after a recent servicing i am having some sounding problem from internal engine. at 40-50 kmph speed when we pull the clutch there's a strange sound coming like "tak tak tak" as the gears are getting loose. but when we leaves the clutch every thing sounds good. i am also getting good mileage, compression is also good till now. please suggest some thing what kind of sound is that.

    thanks.

Sounds like something related to chain.
Check the condition of chain and sprockets. If chain was not cleaned, lubed and adjusted for a while, suggest you do that.
If chain/sprockets are worn, replace with OE chain set.

check the clutch spindle . small metal peice that actually pushes the plates in. sometimes if worn out or broken makes similar sound.

        thanks for replying,

seems that should be the problem as i have changed the clutch plates in this service for first time. could you put some more light on that..

also one of the mechanics i have contacted says that your gears are worn out and needs replacement.

quite possible on the gear part however not all gears get worn out. might be 1-2 gear at max but ask the mech to open the clutch case cover and check for the spindle that moves in and out else the alignment of the plates/pressure is not set right which is causing them to wobble when you press the clutch.

while riding if you dont hear any grinding noise then the gears are fine. its something related to wrong setup done on the clutch plates itself.

              Hello,

i have contacted another mechanic today, he also says the same thing. That 3rd and 4th gears are worned and the whole engine to be opened. as my bike has done 70k+ kms so what you all suggest me to do. a complete overhaul of engine should be good or i just repair the damaged parts.

              thanks.

A complete overhaul would be a good choice. That way you know that the engine is completely rebuilt & you can trust and run your bike without worrying too much.

Guys my bike is just 1300km old and the nut near the gear is leaking oil. I showed it to the service center but they are unable to solve the problem.
What could be the reason for oil leak through the nut.just 1drop in 1day.

                    • How to make seat comfortable?

Hello all, I have a Splendor Pro bike(2011) which I ride 25kms daily and total 300kms( 150km+150km on saturdays and sundays) on weekends.

As you all know, the custom seat of splendor bike is not very comfortable as it is very small and hard.

Is there anything I can do to the seat so that I can make it more comfortable, like changing the seat to one with lots of foam?

Could u pls help me with the ways to make the long distance ride more comfortable?

As of now, I get sore back after riding 20- 30 kms, mainly during hot climate.
Though I do not wish to make any modifications to the bike apart from change of seat to more comfortable one, suggestions on modifications are well appreciated if is of great help for my long rides.

If you people are asking me to change the seat then pls suggest me the foam thickness that would be best for long rides.

I have seen the seats of Avenger and other tourer bikes and found they have got good amount of foam apart from their great design.

Please suggest me some of the few methods to improve long drives.

I am financially bit tight right now to take a new bike and dat is d reason I am not taking a bike that are good for long rides.

Please post a pic to make it more clear. I assume you are talking about the nut that holds the gear pedal into the axle(?). If that is the case, there is no connection of that nut to oil. My gear pedal was broken in two pieces and when I got it welded, the took that nut off and welded the piece back.

I think that it is probably the lubricating oil/grease that service centres use. If you have got service done recently then I think they have lubed it in excess and thats why its dropping. I am saying this because after every service I also see drops of oil on the ground and that is just the lube oil.

@All: Please anyone tell the difference between Champion PRZ7HC and PRZ9HC

                        Thanks.

The nut is attached to the engine under the magneto cover and near gear changing rod( having black rubber type of seal around it.).when i loose it the engine oil flows then i tight it smoothly.but it leaks 1 drop every day.service center guy apply some white sealent. But still it leaks.
