I discovered that my brake lights are staying on because my front brake lever is not returning fully after pulling in every-time . What is the remedy ? Internal parts of front brake assembly is fully serviced .

Please never use these local oils , good quality fork oil is not expensive or difficult to get - atleast you'll get bajaj's endurance oil for ct100 at any parts shop cheaply . Also disassemble the front shock to parts , clean and then reassemble every time - after you have taken the fork legs off the bike , it's not much additional work to clean throughly with kerosene . Particularly if the service history is unknown and most probably job has not been done regularly . Careless job like this means you'll have to open the forks again soon which is a laborious proposition . Nahi ?

Please check your break cables. If the break cable is very old & dried out, the cable will not smoothly operate and will reduce the spring tension and stick to cable hose. I think lubing the break cable will solve your problem.

While searching on google I found out an interesting & easy to DIY topic on how to lube the cable. It is very much affordable, easy and fun to try to lube the cables using Syringes. Below pics explains the method

Please also inspect the at Front Break Panel. The insufficient tension of the spring also could be one of the possibilities.

I checked it - Very right , front brake cable has not been lubed in a year and it's dry and not at all free . Going to try oil+syringe after elections . This may be the only method for this cable since the brake-cable cannot be removed from casing .

Pinaki ji , these cables are friction free as they have some coating inside and oil tends to increase the friction. I tried this and suffered from a broken clutch cable in mid way. I advise you to get brake cable as a set, Also monsoon will be knocking doors early , better be prepared.

Guys, need help. Do Splendor & Street share the same carburetor. My uncle has a very well maintained (read spotless) Hero honda street for his short city rides. Recently he called me to inform that his mechanic has recommended a carburetor change as his bike refuses to start by any means. I told him to get it checked from an another mechanic & even he gave a similar response. Now the problem is spares of Hero honda street are not easily available. I searched for the carburetor repair kit for street but it isn't available anywhere. So even if my uncle is ready to pay for the whole carburetor it isn't available. As many of Hero bike share parts (including engine parts) can we use Splendor's carburetor in street. The bike is parked idle for about a month, need to do something to bring it back on road.

Carb went bad ? Its a rare problem. I advise cleaning it first and checking for others i.e. Ignition and air flow and compression .
I have a bad carb , but it starts the bike no matter what .

I am away from the bike so cannot check it in person, have to depend on what my uncle says. Carb was cleaned & uncle says even if the bike starts it remains at high rpm, thus can't be used. He says the accelerator cable is fine. Diaphragm?

Yes , I know that about the clutch cable , most probably the throttle cable too . So I never lubed those . But is the front-brake cable also friction-free type ?

Soon I will be having complete engine overhaul of super splendor 2005 model in next month.
Apart from usual parts like changing of piston, Rings, con rod, etc., what are the other things that should be taken care of in STRICT SENSE WITHOUT COMPROMISE . Mostly the mechanics change the parts and don't do the cleaning. Last time while getting front fork overhauled, the mechanic didn't clean the fork.
I had driven the bike around 200km with engine oil less than minimum mark in January. That's the reason for crank going bad and it makes sound.

Where are you planning to overhaul your vehicle? it is a DIY or get it done with mechanics?

Please don't get it done with local mechanics if you even want any simple things that should be taken care of in STRICT SENSE WITHOUT COMPROMISE.

Please get it done with Authorized Hero Service Centers. They will do the perfect complete overhaul and check/replace each & every part in your engine with guarantee.

In Hero Service Centers mechanics are properly trained on how to exactly repair the engine. Moreover they have proper special tools to assemble any special parts. In contrast all local mechanics wouldn't have most of the special tools. Sometime they use hammer & roughly work on the engine which may result in damage of any internal parts of the engine.

Hope your Super Splendor will be given in a better hands. Happy many more miles ahead.

Front tyre 2.75x18 MRF NyloGrip RIB , Rear tyre 2.75x18 MRF NyloGrip Plus . Headlamp standard bulb is Halonix 35/35 - Rohit's recommendation for Osram silverstar is great . A better oil in 10w30 is Gulf 4T Synth . Replace air-filter if old . Oil chain (EP90 gear oil) and adjust to correct slack . Get centrifugal-filter and mesh cleaned from service center and tappets gap adjusted . Grease wheel bearings and sprocket carrier bearings , replace if any play . Service forks & steering bearings . For better performance @ 60 -90 kmph - carburetor may need cleaning and adjustment . Use AddonP from indianoil pump with normal petrol @ 1ml per liter .

                                hello every one.

i am owning a passion plus (2004 model). 70k+ on odo. no major parts have been changed till yet. changed parts are

                                1) chain sproket set once.

                                2) battery twice to amaron.

                                3) rear tyre + tube set.

                                4) lighting coil + regulator once. (4-5 years ago).

                                5) break shoes several 2 - 3 times.

after a recent servicing i am having some sounding problem from internal engine. at 40-50 kmph speed when we pull the clutch there's a strange sound coming like "tak tak tak" as the gears are getting loose. but when we leaves the clutch every thing sounds good. i am also getting good mileage, compression is also good till now. please suggest some thing what kind of sound is that.

                                thanks.
