Re: Hero Moto Splendor/Joy/CD-Dawn/Passion
Hello friends , I am having a confusion . This is my bike's ( 2010 Splendor+ ) centrifugal-filter or rotor-filter which I have opened for cleaning now . Noticed this T mark on it ( back) which seems to be made from factory with paint . Does this need to be matched with timing of the magneto ? If so how ? Did not notice it while opening
, please help

As always so thankful to you for reassuring precise info , I'm relieved - going to assemble up the bike tomorrowOriginally posted by sibun View PostNo bro not required. This is just a assembly line marking.
Th clutch is a wee bit weak at 27k kms , next oil change I'm thinking of replacing the fiber plates only of the clutch . Good idea ? No free-play in the clutch-outer basket , no ridges in it , plates are able to move freely yet .
Welcome to our forum brother . You did not mention vital details like how old the bike is and how many kms run . Anyway during next Hero service ask them specificaly to clean the rotor-filter & mesh filter , check oil pass through & circulation , adjust valve tappets gap , clean and re-gap spark plug if it's not too old . Also change the oil to a better one like gulf , motul , veedol etc .Originally posted by View Posthello everyone I am new to xbhp please give me solution to my problem of hero splendor vibrations and rough engine Service done all in hero service centre every 2500kms oil used is hero oil the actual problem is my bike runs rough most of time and engine sound changes and sometimes it runs very smooth and sound of engine will be smooth I have done all researches on my problem and bike vibrates at all speeds but one thing pickup top speed everything is fine dear sir please help me on this problemLast edited by Pinaki; 02-06-2019, 12:33 AM.

To check oil circulation I have checked oil circulation by removing valve cover oil circulation is fine I ride by bike at 50 to 60 speed always as I don't revive by bike for long time at high speed or does the engine takes time to set in to become smooth as I am not able to ride this vibrating bike

Re: Hero Moto Splendor/Joy/CD-Dawn/Passion
Excellent , you have already checked the basic things that can give rise to engine vibes . Yes , the bike does get smoother with more miles . But I have never experienced the level of vibes like you say makes it unpleasant to ride , mine is quite smooth from 10k kms onwards . You should try using a better oil than the Hero 10w30 , even shift to 20w40 grade oil , that would make it a lot smoother , particularly for longer rides in hot climate . I know that the Hero 10w30 is a bit noisy oil . Other than that adjust chain slack correctly and lube the chain often with EP90 gear oil , then apply grease . If all this doesn't eliminate most of the vibes , I doubt that the engine or drivetrain is the source . You have to look elsewhere on the bike .Originally posted by View PostMy bike is 2018 model 9months old sir ...

Thanks for your suggestions sir does rear brakes or wheel bearing are reason for these vibesOriginally posted by Pinaki View PostExcellent , you have already checked the basic things that can give rise to engine vibes . Re: Hero Moto Splendor/Joy/CD-Dawn/Passion
Unlikely , but if you feel you can check & lubricate the brake cams , replace brake-shoes if worn , and also check & lubricate both wheel's bearings easily . This may help - https://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcy...tml#post887366Originally posted by View PostThanks for your suggestions sir does rear brakes or wheel bearing are reason for these vibes

Re: Hero Moto Splendor/Joy/CD-Dawn/Passion
Clutch plates shouldn't go out in 27k. But hell with today's traffics. You don't know how much abuse they go through. But you can change the plate as they costs only 360. No need of changing anything else. Just wet the plate in oil for 1 hour before fittingOriginally posted by Pinaki View PostAs always so thankful to you for reassuring precise info , I'm relieved - going to assemble up the bike tomorrow

Re: Hero Moto Splendor/Joy/CD-Dawn/Passion
IndeedOriginally posted by sibun View PostClutch plates shouldn't go out in 27k. But hell with today's traffics ...
, I find myself riding @ 20-30 kmph between the 2nd & third gear most of the day immersed in Kolkata's congested bylane traffic . My clutch / brake usage is heavy . Also because I have small hands, I need to keep the clutch lever freeplay about halfway to avoid wrist pain at end of day . However this clutch set still has life left in it - only problem I'm facing is a single kat noise while taking off from standstill , in first gear . Also while in motion and changed gear up , as I let out the clutch lever again , I feel a mild judder once , just as the clutch plates engage / mesh with each other . This is minor yet , but since I have been riding this Splendor+ and doing most of service & repairs diy from beginning , I know that now the clutch operation is not as smooth as it used to be when new . That's it .
With all of your help and the knowledge I gained here , today I completed servicing the rotor-filter , mesh-filter along with oil-change ( to Gulf Powertrak ) all by myself . I had the clutch-side cover and the parts open & cleaned them yesterday . This is the second time this is done on this bike, first was at Hero service . During this I have inspected the clutch and it seemed okay , no obvious problem .
I have bungled up in one item - while loosening / tightening the 4 phillips screws on the rotor filter cover , I have almost destroyed the grooves on 2 of them . Fixed okay for now but next time they may need to be drilled out ( or maybe I'll just go to Hero service and ask them to do the clutch job when needed ?
) . Should have listened to shoeb and bought an impact driver
. Nothing like experience gained from diy . For now bike is up and running fine again .

Got myself an impact driver and rubber mallet for under 1k for similar jobs, at times these hesitant screws can be a handfull.Motorcycling Experience:
