Re: Hero Moto Splendor/Joy/CD-Dawn/Passion
Returned back from my training at work which was outstation and found my Splendor Pro throughly abused by my father who thinks riding it like the CD100 will give best results and frankly it doesn't. It needs more care, unlike his CD100 which returns about 40 to 45kmpl. Before I left, my Splendor had engine issues and the power through rev range was not uniform and @"sibun" offered to help, although I never could visit him. The FE was about 60 to 62 and my dad told me a few times in the last few weeks that the FE had dropped to 48 and lastly 38 in the last week. That was enough and I returned home to find the following:
1. Poor play of rear brakes
2. Completely non-functional horn
3. Bad FE and vibes with rather poor torque & pickup
4. Electric Start barely working at times
And I took it to my trusted mech. Had the carb cleaned and plug checked. Found a lean mixture to be the culprit and my mech checked again. Starting issues pertained. Checked the carb parts again to find the air adjustment screw completely damaged. He replaced it with a new one, re-tuned the carb settings and there it was. All the engines issues and starting problems fixed at once for me. Got the old factory fitted horn repaired. The sound isn't good enough for me. Thinking of buying a new one from Uno Minda. Brakes were adjusted as well. Every moving part was oiled nicely and bike was throughly washed. Unfortunately I didn't click pics of any of the processes. I used the reserve to reserve mileage test since Wednesday and I'm proud to say that my bike returns about 73kmpl with mixed riding (City & Highway) in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.[My Motorcycles]

Re: Hero Moto Splendor/Joy/CD-Dawn/Passion
Hey guys, how do I go about changing the shifter on a Splendor (Electric Start) to one that permits proper toe shifting i.e both up and down.
Do suggest compatible alternatives.Motorcycling Experience:

I believe that the CD100 Deluxe came with the heel/toe shifter.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostHey guys, how do I go about changing the shifter on a Splendor (Electric Start) to one that permits proper toe shifting i.e both up and down.

The one from CB Twister will fit just fine. It's available as an alternative on Unicorn 150 as well.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostHey guys, how do I go about changing the shifter on a Splendor (Electric Start) to one that permits proper toe shifting i.e both up and down.

We will be trying for the CD100D or Old Unicorn models shifter based on availability.Motorcycling Experience:

If he owns a newer Splendor, the heel-toe shifter from CD Deluxe should be a direct fit in itself.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostThanks guys, have shown your posts to my friend who owns the Splendor, since the Motorcycle is used by both him and his dad he wants to keep the heel-toe option but with the option to up and down shift with the toe alone. Re: Hero Moto Splendor/Joy/CD-Dawn/Passion
Mine's a 2013 design Pro model, manufactured in March 2015 and purchased in July 2015. It's not the newer Splendor Pro from 2015. The only difference between the 2013 make and mine is the absence of SAI and I'm rather curious why. Here are some shots of my bike. Excuse the quality as my Moto G 2013 doesn't have the best Camera. Need some visual opinions on my bike from the expertsOriginally posted by s1d View Posti assume you are talking about the splendor pro 2015 model here.
am surprised it doesn't have the SAI system.. could you please post a close up pic of the engine area from both sides.
. @"Pinaki" @"sibun" The kerb weight still bothers me at 117kg (all accessories fitted).
The dry weight of the bike is supposed to be 115kg as referenced in the User Manual. And I'm getting about 62 to 64kmpl mileage with mixed riding conditions. Not bad I guess. Thinking of removing the sidebox BTW.
A few questions gentlemen, if you don't mind.
1. I use Castrol Activ 20w40 and have always used it (on HH CD100 & my CB Twister). Should I try something different in Winter?
2. How much does the lockset for Splendor Pro cost? The OEM one is supposed to be about 805 at ASC but they don't have it for my model. Should I go for a Minda spare? Is the lockset same as Splendor+? Mine doesn't even have a helmet lock.
3. Bike has had some pickup issue when going up slopes between 15 to 20kmph and it would stall for the past few days. This was not an issue previously the slopes I'm talking of aren't that steep either. My mech adjusted the clutch wire and level foreplay. This has fixed the issue but the level feels too tight and uncomfortable, a bit like Bajaj Pulsar but this bike isn't meant to be bike like that. Makes it a bit difficult to half clutch at times. What should I do? What could be the culprit here?
4. Getting rid of the ulility/locker box. Yay or nay?[My Motorcycles]

Re: Hero Moto Splendor/Joy/CD-Dawn/Passion
Found this on the parts catalogue website. Seems like HF Deluxe with iBS (Integrated Braking System/CBS for Hero) is ready for launch. Glamour Fi was launched with iBS about a week ago. Deluxe seems to be the next on the list.[My Motorcycles]

My efforts to mend a smoking Splendor+ which was given a new block kit 12000km ago.Originally posted by dumb0 View Post
By using gold opinions/methods of the stalwarts in this thread, only a new 25 number ring on the standard piston has been installed to get a very good compression with a NO SMOKING engine.
Thanks to all and merry Christmas!

Re: Hero Moto Splendor/Joy/CD-Dawn/Passion
sibun, sir can you tell the jet sizes of 2010 mdl passion pro (first edition) and also if we can swap the stainless steel silencer of y2k splendor/joy on a passion pro.
I recently test rode a y2k splendor and found it to be extremely smooth compared to my passion pro. My bike has a bassy exhaust note and it easily touches 90km/h.
Riding through traffic is a breeze as 0-60 acceleration is on par with 125 cc bikes and much better than some new 110 cc bikes. All the new bikes i have ridden including
latest TVS victor 110 lack the fun to ride in city/ grunty engine character as my bike. But somehow i feel it is not as smooth as the older bikes. My pro is nearing the 1 lac km mark and the engine is still in very good condition as i replace the engine oil every 2000km. I am ready to do some experimenting with exhaust to see if my passion pro can match the smoothness of y2ksplendor/passion/joy/splendor plus
. Your opinion would be very valuable to me.

You can fit the stainless steel silencer of the y2k splendoe/joy. Costs only 1400. But you will loose the back pressure of your catcon silencer and thus some low end torque. But engine will feel free revving and will pick up speed quicker.
At almost 1 lacs kilometers you need to do some works to make the engine smooth.
Clean the combustion chamber of carbon deposits, get the clutch bell overhauled in lathe and change clutch plates. Polish the valves and adjust tappets.
Change the rings as they would have lost their seal.
As for jet size the slow jet is 35 and main jet is 105.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time.
