That's one hell of a paintjob. Must have been costly. I like the stickering work on that bike. That's one unique Splendor Pro for sure.

        Dear Experts

I am own a CD DAWN from 9 years and completed 62000km. without major repairs.

Now i am facing a problem that average comes to 45kmpl instead earlier 65kmpl. I feel motorcycle engine getting hot easily.

Last week i cleaned air filter, opened carburetor trying to tune it.

When i close air screw fully and start to screw in idling screw. After bike starts when i start unscrewing air screw finds that RPM is not increasing much at certain point. I found a best point where i get max RPM. Still no changed in average.

Later taken to mechanic he told that clutch is failed & replaced clutch plated to Bosch. Spark plug replaced from Champion to Bosch. (Photo of old Plug which is replaced as new one yet to have some deposition.

        Still no change in average.

Please let me know what should i check & how.
        Should i change coils / valves lapping / block & piston ?

        Please suggest

Doing the clutch job was good , it's great that it lasted 60k kms . Symptoms were also of worn clutch plates . The first thing to check now is the new spark plug , it will tell you if the engine is now tuned correctly and running well , or not .
Old plug is showing good tune and no problem.

with new spark plug it looks tuned perfectly. But still fuel economy seems problem. Is it because of valves ? (i never touched them as well as timing chain yet)

should i open them & take them for lapping? I never opened cylinder head any precautions needed? can any one let me know the procedure.

            Regards

A small update. Passion pro crossed 74,000 kms yesterday. The racer bearings became tight, post these rains. So replaced them in a hero service centre 30 kms away from my place. They did a good job. Now the handle bar slides freely till both ends. Bike is smooth as ever. Next work will be the replacement of fork springs since the fork's action has become stiff.

Uploading some photos of the kodaikanal ride on september 2018. It was a 245 kms round trip. The bikes were my passion pro and a apache rtr 160. My bike was misfiring very often throughout the hills.

That's a great milestone. Nice to see that you've stuck with your bike for this long. Here's to your road to 1,00,000 KMS on the bike.

Hey guys, I came across this recently. Was there actually a version of the Splendor Pro that came with a disc brake?

I've seen some splendors with disc brakes but no idea whether they were stock or custom fitted

The ones I've seen are custom fitted. There's a vegetable vendor here who has modified his Splendor with wheels, handlebar and discs from Stunner.

Hi guys, my brother's super splendor is 28k kilometers run, and i gave it to mechanic to clean the centrifugal filter, after that i am feeling that clutch cover is getting hot even after riding short distance, also gearbox has become hard during downshifting, and 1st and 2nd gear are hard, is my clutch plates damaged, or the mechanic has not fitted the clutch cover properly, please help.

First check the oil level and its condition.Adjust the clutch properly. If cable is tight change it . little tight on down shift is common . riding 2-5 km the clutch cover will hot . when the oil was replaced ?after that how much you run

New oil was pored just one day ago. Only 13km run after new oil, earlier it didn't heat up that much, also i feel hot air coming from outer part of exhaust pipe just beside the footrest.

That's about where the exhaust pipes drain hole is, so I guess you need not worry about it.

Thanks for replying ashwin bro, but the gearbox has become hard on downshifting even after lubing and adjusting chain to recommended specification.

Check your chain slack . if chain is over tight ,the gear shift become hard . also check the clutch cable and clutch adjustment.
Clutch liver has free play about 10 mm .
And chain has free play about 25mm . inspect the chain slack at tight position of chain while rotating . for your heating problem I feel , while opening the clutch cover and some oil will fall on silencer . Also little will be on clutch cover . this may be the reason for feel heating near footrest and clutch cover . herohonda clutch will last minimum 35000-40000 km even if you use bike roughly .
