in most cases it isn't the oil brand that causes issues, but rather lack of regular oil changes every 2500-3000km.

When i got it changed there was no loss of oil that i could see .

also ways buy oil yourself and take it to the mechanic.... else for splendor oil change is as simple as it can get . drain bolt at bottom.
all you need is a funnel - 20 bucks
12 mm spanner - 50 bucks
and some crush washers - 1 rupee each ( 1 used at every oil change).

thats it . do the service yourself.
air filter if its sponge type. dust it then wring it with kerosene or diesel. if its paper type then it will last 12000 km easily.
carbs for 4 stroke does not need to be touched atleast for 20k km gap unless there is an issue.

the only thing you might need the mechanic will be for valve clerance adjust once in 10,000 km. trust me its pretty easy to maintain these machines yourself.
My commute is from delhi to gurgaon so it's like 3-4 km of heavy traffic and then its a flowing traffic

Am thinking of doing it myself but what to do with the drained oil how to dispose it off . With the dusty condition in delhi got the air filter changed at 9000km due to a drop in mileage too .

you can sell of that oil at about 20-30 bucks a litre to the local mechanic. they in turn sell it in bulk to local industries where its used a fuel.

Can anyone tell me what's the average life of the Chain Sprocket on these 100cc vehicles (Passion & Splendor Pro's) in particular?

Not a Splendor but mines a 100cc motorcycle running on a Rollon chain and the chain lasts 20~25k at max, given off-roading, trail riding and interstate touring is in the mix with all other things. Currently at 22.5k km's and she's making a hell lot of grinding noise even on tightening but I'm intending to keep it till 25k before going for a replacement as I'm a little low on Vitamin M at the moment.

Fair enough. I've crossed 30.5K on mine. It's making small rattling noises. The pickup is being affected quite a bit because of this. No use of tightening as it gets loose all over rather quickly. Once I'm high on the Vitamins like yourself, I plan on changing it as well. I do quite a lot of intra-state runs though. Not all of those roads highways or pucca roads.

Hit 2500kms on the ODO since my last servicing and oil change. Bought these for the servicing.

Air Filter change was much needed. The manual suggests a 12K change interval but mine's busted at about 10.5K due to all the city riding and dust.

Manual recommends 10w 30 or 20w 40

I use 20W40. Always did use that. 10W30 has heating issues and the shifts are rather too hard.

Had run off the Castrol Power 1 20W50 a couple of times on the CT100B, the acceleration was WOW! in comparison to the other 20W50 grades I use and there was no harshness which is ideally present with using lighter oils, do give it a try if you don't mind shelling 370/- for an oil change, else you could get the Shell HX3 20W50 for 280/- which is what I'm currently running on.

I change my air filters at 5k intervals, rather change early than run rich and prematurely wear down the cylinder, just a personal opinion.

And I hope you're changing the spark plugs with a 10k replacement interval.

Yup. I changed my 3rd plug around the 29k interval. Ran in to some engine oil issues due to inaccurate carburettor tuning as a result the oil would get deposited on the spark plug. Adjusting the Carb fixed it for me. Not sure if there's any relation in between that. Also, my dad accidentally bought the Castrol Activ 4T 20w50 the last time. I used it till the current change. Didn't feel much difference in accelaration. My chain sprocket is almost undone. Hasn't started rattling. Need to shell some money and get it changed. Whatsoever, I'm unable to accelerate above 60kmph because of the chain. I thought it was a pickup issue. Got it checked and now chain seems to be the only culprit here. My acceleration reduces random in various speeds across the rev range. I bought the current bike (used) on Olx at about 23K on the ODO. I had changed the 2nd plug back then. The previous owner had used the bike rather harshly. Switched to a Ceat Secura on the Rear back then. Now, the stock TVS Front tyre is almost exhausted. Gotta change that too. The lack of grips on it has resulted in dust accumulation and slips during emergency braking a lot of times. I'm thinking of handing this bike to my dad now and swap it for a new HF Dawn instead. Not instead in using a high capacity bike for a city commute yet. Still got my brother's Honda Unicorn 150 (2017) in the garage. Too lazy to use it.

Though one thing I'm curious about is the rigidity of the chassis, and the CD100 lacks a cradle(the cradle seen in the picture is actually part of the crashguard) compared to the double cradle offered on the later on variants of the Splendor, CD/HF series etc., so would going for a newer chassis with double cradle be an upgrade or would there be no difference at all in structural rigidity?

Yes, indeed. The lack of a cradle makes the bike light weight and shorter in height. That's exactly the reason why I asked you about the Dawn earlier. I've been asking around, CDSS uses the chassis we're talking of and it's same one as Splendor Pro & Dawn and bit study when compared to HF Deluxe and Splendor+. I'll ask around for it.

If you change spark plug with in few km there are two reasons . either you are running rich or your bike may start to consume oil. There is no relation between engine oil consuming and carb . if you are running rich you can see black and scooty plug with powder deposits of carbon . also you can see same in your exhaust tip. If your plug is black with oily and the scilencer tip is oily then your bike consuming oil also it produce white smoke. For chain kit go for rolen or diamond or ifb brand .these are good quality products. Also use 90 gear oil for lube chain.

Hello to everyone on this thread.
I need help regarding my Passion Pro 2010 model. It needs the cone set change (hard steering) & also the Chassis bush change (acc to mechanic) because sometimes bike feels like it has got a puncture or something is not right with the rear wheel. It happens suddenly & randomly, then after some time bike runs okay-ish. Checked the tyres, alloys, brakes, chain alignment on both sides. These things are fine. Also the 4 rubber pads inside the wheel hub are new & genuine Hero parts.
sibun sir, i remember that on your CBZ Xtreme thread, you used the old chassis bushes alongwith the new bushes for better stability & rigidity. Can something like that be done on my bike. Also, are there any better quality aftermarket products than the Hero parts because it feels like Hero parts quality is not so good now. The last time I changed the cone set on my bike with Genuine Hero cone set, it lasted only for 8000 kms or so, then needed constant attention.

And what are your thoughts on fuel additives like Iftex System G / System D. Should they be used in bikes (both carb & fi ), cars (both petrol & diesel ). If they are beneficial then which brand product is the best based on your experience.
Thanks.
