off topic ( sorry ) : Hero Honda Glamour
engine oil is leaking to the combustion chamber , it needs an overhaul.
Please clarify the steps :
1. need to get the following ( from SVC or some outside shop, what to prefer ? ) :
a. glamour bore kit ( containing bore and piston )
b. piston rigns
c. packing kit
d. valves
2. if any other things required because once I know what is to replace then it'll be a little easier to get it done, please tell

thanks

Don't understand what you mean by "engine rpm is more that engine speed" ?
Try turning the AFR screw on the carb clockwise by one full turn , then keep adjusting if necessary . It is an air-adjusting screw , so clockwise(tighter) means less air and a richer mix .
How old is the air-filter . Anyone tried to clean or tamper with it ? Check the manual for replacement interval . I don't know the replacement interval for the paper type air-filter , my bike has oiled-foam type .
Adjust clutch lever to have free-play for about half-way of it's full travel . Chain slack is adjusted correctly ? Chain is lubricated ? - Chain lube & adjustment affects gear shift ease more than anything else . Try it .
Touched 85kmph today and still there was some left but as i love her so i let her go with a quote thats enough for you baby [emoji4]

Great to hear this that your bike is good now . Take care of your new clutch plates . Maintain adequate clutch-lever free play , never do "clutch riding" , keep the hand lever pivot lubed and so the cable ends , use proper 4T motorcycle engine oil and replace timely . Best wishes brother .

Unless you have found a mechanic whom you know very well and really trust to do a superb job , my humble advice is to get it done from a authorised Hero service center . Then you'll not have to worry about any parts either . Their cost is reasonable , specified by Hero and work is guaranteed too .

Hi, let me try to help you with my experience. Hero bikes have to be ridden for a lot of kms to be smooth. It takes several months for the engine to set properly. My bike was also reluctant to go beyond 50 kmph when it was bought. I ride it sanely. After clocking 20,000 kms the bike was very smooth at 50 kmph. After clocking 30,000 kms, the bike was very smooth at 60 kmph. I don't go beyond that speed. So, your bike also needs time to set in. Just keep riding and service it once in 2500 kms regularly. You'll love the machine.

One more ride I did from my workplace to home. The distance was 320 kms. It was raining intermittently. I did the ride on December 22. Took 10 hours since i was not prepared for rain and have to find shelter whenever it starts drizzling. Posting some pictures.

I have Ismart 100 cc which gives me around 80kmpl if ridden smoothly under 50kmph and gives me approx 60kmpl on harsh riding in city. I have not ridden it on highway and i use power petrol of HP from day 1.
Hope this helps.

Hello all... i am a Passion Plus owner. Received my bike as a coming-of-age gift from my parents. She is 13 years old now. I need your advice in carrying out a small modification.

The bike was lying almost unused for the past 5 years when i shifted to cars. Lately, I've begun using her regularly due to the horrendous traffic. Had to iron out some minor niggles caused by age but she still returns wonderful FE and is extremely trouble free. The only problem is the rear suspension which i think has gone bust and regularly bottoms out with a heavy pillion. Should i just go ahead and replace it with the regular Passion Plus one or is it OK if i plonk in a better one from another bike? I have no problems with carrying out minor modifications as i have a friend's workshop which i can use but I need to ensure that the one i fit gives decent ride quality and is easier on the back. Buying a new bike wont be an option for me as the investment doesnt justify my limited usage.
Please suggest alternatives that i can consider as i need ride comfort over everything else.
Many thanks in advance.

Oil change interval should be kept short until 10k kms at least in my opinion , because the engine is relatively new and shedding metal particles . Similarly after any engine job , like new clutch plates or parts replacement , replace the oil quicker than usual . Because the new clutch shall shed more particles from initial wear . Considering this it is not bad idea to stick with Hero 10w30 oil for now and keep replacing it every 1000-1200 kms ( or 4 months , if that comes earlier ) . Because Hero 10w30 is presently the cheapest oil you'll get in Kolkata , some places selling it for Rs 200 a bottle . Although it's not super ( but just okay ) and doesn't hold up well after 1.5k kms of use , since it's the company recommended oil , there should be no harm from it . Hero 10w30 is actually surprisingly good in winter . Then after 10k to 12k kms you can try out the more expensive oils like gulf / motul . I am presently running Gulf Powertrac 10w30 which is very good . For hot summer I may fill Motul 3000 20w40 again from March , but ..
More than what oil I use , I place more importance on keeping the oil fresh and topped up at all times . So for me whatever the oil , I shall drain it before 2k kms or 4 months , whichever comes up earlier . And I check oil level every month and top-up if needed ( which is rarely in my case ) . Nowadays my bike is running so less because I am staying away from home for work , I am draining the gulf oil ( @ Rs 350 ) at less than 800-900 kms of use since it's past 4-5 months by then . So even I am considering going back to the Hero 10w30 now again

I have used 20w40 many times and actually prefer it for summer and longer rides . Fuel mileage will be little lower though and bike will take little longer to warm-up in the mornings .

Hello everyone,

I am a newbie to xbhp. But i am following this thread for some time. I own a Hero Honda Passion Pro, 2010 model ( first bike of PRO series by HH ).
I was thinking of swapping the silencer of my pro to an old short silencer of old splendor as i really like the beat and free revving nature of the old splendor. But i remember
sibun ji telling that installing the old splendor silencer will burn the exhaust valve. sibun ji, could you please explain how would the old silencer cause damage to the exhaust valve. It would be really helpful

There is one gearbox problem that i forgot to mention, sometimes gear shift is not smooth specifically from 1st to 2nd and sometimes it feels that gear has not properly engaged. Any idea? Engine oil is new with recommended grade
