I didn't measured but doesn't last too much. Kat kat noise i experienced mainly from front sprocket and from loose touching the cover. When chain is loose, acceleration makes tight and de-acceleration loose which then touches the cover. In some occasion if cover not fitted properly or bent cause this.

Thanks for everyone's feedback . I have already checked the usual things like front & rear sprockets , chain slack etc and they are okay . Next I need to take out the rear wheel & sprocket-carrier and check them . I have already bought the dampener rubber set ( part 41241GB4770S ). I'll also use the opportunity to replace the rear brake shoes . Lets see .

My mechanic suggested to replace the rubber damper of my 99 samurai during a rebuild 3 years back. The rubber damper was in very good condition, mechanic replaced citing that it will develop a bit of play and wont have the same dampening effect as a newer one.

Something that came to memory when Pinaki sir mentioned that he had checked the usual suspects.

When the CT100B was brand new I'd attended the xBhp ISG2G 2017 on it, during an uphill offroad session I'd had to repeatedly burn some clutch for the rear to gain momentum as the kicker drives the clutch unlike the transmission in Honda's and stalling meant that I'd tumble and fall all the way down the hill in reverse.

After that the chain was making some odd noises which I presumed were due to chain slack ruling all other causes as the motorcycle was new, imagine my surprise when I got to know that it was because of the rear sprocket coming loose, the nut locks did a good job of holding the nuts in place preventing them from coming loose for the next 400 or so km's until I reached home.

When I dismantled the rear wheel I took off the sprocket carrier too and placed it into the wheel - found that the cush drive had quite a bit of play / looseness , so I did replace them 4 rubbers with new ones . The old rubbers look okay , visually no wear or not broken etc , but the new set of rubbers certainly has snug hold on the wheel now .
With new dampner rubbers , carefully aligned rear wheel , re-greased sprocket carrier bearing and properly tight chain the "kat" noise I was getting is 80% gone , but yet it is occurring once in a while . Earlier there was also a jerk in the chain-drive when applying throttle / releasing clutch from standstill , that is completely disappeared now .

Yes , the nuts holding the rear sprocket to the sprocker-carrier do loosen up sometimes and cause noise from the rear sprocket slipping back-n-forth when under sufficient torque . I did try to tighten them on mine but they were not loose at all . Splendor's four sprocket blots ( 8mm ) don't have any locks even

That's fantastic brother . Best wishes for a safe & sound 70K . I am still 25K now because of low running . Having to stay out of town for long spells for job .
I cleaned out the carburetor and cleaned/re-oiled the air-filter foams - and bike is just flying now and back to it's crisp throttle response like new again

Another doubt I am having is that the swingarm has never had any attention on my bike , does it need to be lubricated & how often ? How to do it ?

Runs similar to the Splendor, good at low speeds but knots your back at speed unless you're used to riding commuter motorcycles.

Unlike motorcycles woth middle/rear set pegs your ankle's and knee's aren't cranked to absorb the shock and if you aren't cautious and sit on the saddle in a relaxed posture then your back would start to crack.

Thanks. I do ride very slowly over bad roads. I was planning to buy one. Should I drop it from my list then?

If I may make a suggestion, why not opt for the HF Dawn, less panels to break and more frugal not to mention cheaper.

I do remember hearing a rumor of sorts that the the 2018 Dawn's production was limited to certain states, not certain though.

If not anything the Dawn looks hotter in the 2018 black/red color scheme.

I went a short ride to amaravati dam during the month of May. It was a round trip of 150 kms. Visited a crocodile centre n the way. Adding some pics.

I have a Hero Splendor iSmart 110. Its due for service and I don't want to take it to svc. Went the mechanic near my house for servicing inquiry, but the issue is the manual mentions oil of 10W30 whereas the mechanic said that splendors use 20W40 and 10W30 is used for scooty. So am confused now which oil to be used .

You can safely use a 10w40 or 20w40 from a reputed brand like shell, Castrol, motul, veedol etc.. Even better if u can order the same online since they seem cheaper. Don't just assume the mechanic will use a good quality oil and leave the bike unattended.. Better to get it serviced in your presence and maybe u will also see n learn some basic stuff about the bike.
