So am confused now which oil to be used .
The SVC recommends to use 10w30. Most owners use that one till the vehicle is under warranty. From experience I would say that the gear shifts on 10w30 is not smooth and the engine tends to heat up. As for 20w40, yes. Most splendor owners use it after they have exhausted free service. If you are not planning on get serviced from SVC, I would highly suggest that you go with 20w40 and that too from Castol 4T. It may not be synthetic but it's far better than Shell or Elf when it comes to using in Splendor. And be sure to buy the 1L bottle. iSmart 110 won't run with 900ml of oil. I hope that this helps. I own a Splendor Pro 2015 and have used an iSmart 110 for a while.

Don't just assume the mechanic will use a good quality oil and leave the bike unattended.. Better to get it serviced in your presence and maybe u will also see n learn some basic stuff about the bike.

Thanks will go ahead with 20w40 and yeah i am going to get it serviced in my presence only. Can you recommend which brand to use and from where to source oil from on amazon am seeing multiple 20w40 oil

There you go. I think with the delivery charge, the bottle will cost you a bit higher than what you are supposed to pay offline. I pay Rs 290 at my usual retail. I hope that helps.

Using any other engine oil in warranty period will void your warranty. I would suggest that you use the engine oil recommended by the SVC guys until you are done with free servicing. Also, you can use 20w50 instead of 20w40. The 50 is widely popular in 150-160cc range of bikes.

I can get motul or shell from Amazon, from seller cloudtail. Usually a few bucks less than mrp and genuine stuff. As for oil capacity, please check the owners manual.. Try to avoid overfilling, sometimes mechanics dump in 1litre where only 900ml is required or even vice versa.
Motul is available in 3100, 5100,7100 and shell in ax5 , ax7, ultra (mineral, semisynth, fully synthetic). The splendor will be fine with the mineral if u change it every 2500km.

Hit 30K on my Splendor Pro. Bought it on Olx when it had hit 24K KMS. Rode it for 6,000 in the last 3 months only. While the condition was really nice, a lot of minor adjustment and part replacements had to be made for me ride it. Also realised that the Splendor Pro (116kgs) was like 8 kgs heavier than the Splendor+(108Kgs) and 5 kgs heavier than my CB Twister (110kg). The previous owner was whom you'd call a real jugadoo. The following parts were defective when I bought it: Handle bar racer, Broken Mirrors, Throttle Cable, Poor Handle Grips, Damaged Brake & Clutch Levers, Air Filter & Damaged Speedometer and Pinion

Replaced the rear tyre with a 3 inch Ceat Secura. Planning on getting a Ceat F85 for the front wheel. It's the best tyre I've used previously on my CB Twister. I bought a thicker for more grip. It comes at the cost of a small decrease in mileage though. I've changed the engine oil twice since I bought it. I use the Castrol 4T 20W40 non-synthetic. It's by far the best I've used on all my bikes. The following parts need a change soon as they're all stock and worn out: Stock TVS Front tyre, Chain Spocket & Clutch Plates

Now, I'm not sure what are the limits of clutch plates but this bike was rather used too rashly by the previous owner. I've had pick-up issues for a while now. Would be a nice change to get them replaced. The bike jolts and moves in a non-linear manner at times because of this. The bike also feels unstable at times. The handlebar needs adjustments as well.

1500kms for engine oil service? While the manual mentions servicing at about 3000kms, the engine oil gets used up within 2500kms on an average. TBH, I've had never used HP or heard anyone using it. You should have gone for a Castrol 4T or Elf atleast.

Will keep the 2500 km interval in mind , thanks. The mechanic guy had only hp oil. Had asked for Castrol or other but he said they keep only hp. Will try next time to get my own oil. Didn't had too much time this weekend

Buying your own oil from a reliable shop is always the best.

2500km is a safe interval.. if you use a good quality oil, you can easily go till 3000km between service intervals. and remember the oil should not vanish, even at 3000km when you drain, there should normally be a drop of no more than 100ml. hp oil should be ok, but next time try to buy the oil yourself if you want a different brand.
in most cases it isn't the oil brand that causes issues, but rather lack of regular oil changes every 2500-3000km.

OiL changes depends a lot on weather and way of riding for air cooled machines. 1500 is too premature however 2300-2700 should be ideal for new gen air cooled machines. now if you ride lot in heavy traffic in summer at 40c or so .. just for summer months change oil at 2000 just to keep the engine happy. rest of the year you can happily do 2500-2700.

also ways buy oil yourself and take it to the mechanic.... else for splendor oil change is as simple as it can get . drain bolt at bottom.
all you need is a funnel - 20 bucks
                                12 mm spanner - 50 bucks
and some crush washers - 1 rupee each ( 1 used at every oil change).

thats it . do the service yourself.
air filter if its sponge type. dust it then wring it with kerosene or diesel. if its paper type then it will last 12000 km easily.
carbs for 4 stroke does not need to be touched atleast for 20k km gap unless there is an issue.

the only thing you might need the mechanic will be for valve clerance adjust once in 10,000 km. trust me its pretty easy to maintain these machines yourself.
