Yes, i understand., and also could note the difference. So, after how many kms can I inspect the spark plug for the correct mixture results?

I would like to run some flashbacks here. It was on february 2013 I got this beautiful bike. Some pictures which I took on that good old day

This is not mine!! Wish I could own one. Let me go for a job first

Always stick to the stock parts, they're even cheaper than 3rd party makes. AFAIK the hero speedo/odo cable comes with the inner cable as a set. It costed me 78INR for my CD100. Ensure you grease the ends before plonking it. If you notice awkward needle movement, wavering kind, it could be an issue with the worm kit not being correctly installed. Check the metal pinion, plastic driven gear and the oil seal for any play and ensure there's a washer on axle, just after the bearings.
I'm sure its a loose connectivity of the switch of the fuel gauge playing truant, but be sure to check the gauge as well, it could have gone kaput.

Need some help friends. My bike's clutch has gone loose. Well, i could not explain it. I'll try to explain in my language. While riding in a road which has speed breakers, we use to shift to 2nd gear, right? At that time, while leaving the clutch and giving slightly higher throttle, there is some noise along with the strokes of the engine. Usually that sound is audible but very less. Today while riding i was able to hear it clearly even though i was wearing a helmet. The home which we stay has about a 40 degree inclination to get inside. The bike struggled to pull with that 'loosened sound'. Can you guys able to understand the problem? What should i do? Is it a major problem?

Sounds like a clutch springs and plate issue. What say guys?

Are you sure that i should change the clutch plate related things? I dont even ride my bike harshly. Is there any possibilities of my clutch plates worn even if i ride gently?

One more query fellow bikers. I forgot to tell you about the drive chain. I lube it with 140 gear oil in every 500 kms and tighten/adjust it every 1000 kms. From last week onwards the chain is making noise, like 'rrrk rrrk'. Before the last service if the rear wheel is rotated with hand on main stand there was almost no noise. It was very less. But now, if the rear wheel is rotated very slowly, i mean, inch by inch, the sound of each sprocket teeth locking into the chain can be heard clearly. When the wheel is rotated in a faster manner, that 'rrrrk rrrrk' sound also increases. What could be the problem? What should i do now? Please help me out.

Your chain is over tightened.

The power loss and reduced clutch feedback links too your chain. It is over tightened. Loosen it quickly or it could break or cause damage to the sprockets.

• Bike not rolling freely in gear with clutch depressed

Dear Friends,

I have changed the bore of my bike some 2 months ago and facing this peculiar problem.
Isnt the back tyre of bike (HH Super Splendor or any other bike) supposed to rotate freely when the clutch is pressed in gear. Assume you are at petrol pump and switch off the bike in 2 gear, after fuelling petrol you try to push it doesnt move as its in gear, then you press clutch and it moves freely. Mine has self start so I can just switch off the bike in gear and again press clutch and start it by starter and move on. I found that even with clutch pressed in gear, bike is hard to move manually, and takes energy,,, its not free like in neutral. Before it was very easy.

If you switch off the bike and put it in Main Stand, First keep the bike in neutral and try to rotate back wheel with hand it rotates freely, then engage first gear and try to rotate the back wheel with clutch pressed, it should also rotate freely at that time as good as in neutral position.

For me I am not able to rotate wheel by hand its very hard to rotate wheel when clutch is pressed in gear. Hope you understood my problem and would suggest solution.

After posting here, i went to my mechanic. He adjusted the chain. I checked for the free play after riding for about 25 kms. Its about 1.5 cm approximately. But the manual says it should be around 1 inch. Should i loosen it further?

P.S. The problem with me is, I can feel the problem but i find it very hard to explain or put it in words!!. Hope you guys understand.

Yes bro. A little improvement. Before going to the mechanic, that sound was coming when the wheel was rotated in forward and reverse directions. Now, in forward direction it is just ok, but when it is rotated in the reverse direction, that very same sound comes.

Don't worry it will vanish in some 500-600 kms. My passion pro has the same problem. Chain is tight in some sections and very loose in some other. That sound can be reduced by lubing the chain.

Do one thing , If mechanic is nearby then take with you these things .

A old toothbrush
Half litre Kerosene /diesel
Castrol GL90 or 140 oil that you have (1-200ml)

Ask him to remove chain and front sprocket from bike and wash them thoroughly using kero/diesel and again after draining grimy diesel clean it once again . Hang it from one end or dip entire chain in 140 oil for sometime . This will ensure entire links and crevices get filled with oil . Then fit back sprocket and chain . sibun had posted a method to tighten chain in xtreme thread , follow that or ask mechanic to tighten but tension should be near 1.5inch , anything lower will feel tight and damage chain+gearbox. Then drive till 40kmph pull in clutch ( do this in empty road ) and notice any vibrations in footpegs.

No vibration + No noise = Good chain slack.
Vibration = Tight chain
Noise = Loose chain
Carb Tuning made easy (Thanks Sibun !)

I read a couple of posts here which said they exceed ja2 specifications and here in Chennai, a fully synthetic 10w30 oil is available for 490rs. Thanks in advance.
