a good mechanic can do it for you and maximum cost will be Rs. 500. now the the new cylinder kits coming have more than required gaps and consume oil. so my mechanic installs new 0.25 size rings by grinding even on new bore. it gives much better compression.
however run in has to b about 1500km s as it will be very tight clearance and will cause very high heating during run-in.

The response will be much better and easier to tune. Make sure not to unblock while you tune otherwise your engine will suck air.

Which pipe you are talking about ? i have a CD DAWN is it having this pipe you are refering ?
No the one which i highlighted now.

You can remove it either way. Better to remove it from air suction valve. If removed from engine side, then there is a risk of getting touch with hot engine.

My cd dawn do not have this pipe. Hence probably no need to remove.

Yeah , I too think the previous CD-Dawn is not having this intake enrichment tube .

I dunno for sure , but most probably Hero_Honda conceived the CD100 for flat-land riding mainly . Also by omitting the sub-transmission gearing , they must have intended to simplify things for easy repairs in rural India .

Honda's CT90 was intended for dual use , on forest trails , farms and ranches , hunting and fishing and adventure . It had an auxiliary fuel tank , detachable buddy seat and a elevated exhaust so that the motor could run through water-crossings unhindered .

The current engine already has this higher torque and power . This engine is on the current HF-dawn , HF deluxe , Splendor Pro etc . These also have new flywheel magneto with more coils , and a DC ignition system . I have ridden a lot on a new HF-Dawn and I can attest to the higher torque , at least - it feels greaaaaaat !

Ralson if available , is the first choice . Second is our staple MRF Moto-C or nylogrip plus (ngp) .

Pinaki, very few people in India goes for countryside ride or for farm riding, our mentality and our need from a 2 wheeler is totally opposite from european people, because of which Honda didn't gave this feature.

And do Passion pro is also having same higher magneto with the likes of splendor pro, as passion pro is having APDV.

The 0.25 size will not directly fit the standard piston. What you will have to do is:-
                1. Take the bore and rings to lathe and grind the ends of rings so that on inserting the bore you get the required gap.
                2. Then you have to smoothen and polish the edges of ring end gap as they would have become rough and abrasive after grinding.
                3. After filing check the surface of end gap if they are smooth.

After that you can fit, but before fitting you have to check whether the std rings have more gap to require oversize gap and bore is not worn out to extent that it will require boring or new bore.

As a rule of thumb - any one of the current model having a thick red spark-plug cap , means it has DC ignition and is the new engine type . apdv thing is not related to this .

Last sunday took the joy on ride to highway and also took it to dhauli.

Dhauli was one of our favorite places of three friends. My friend nishant, me and my Joy.

But with passage of time we move on with memoirs in mind. Now my friend is in bangalore hunting for job and i am here in bank and also my Joy is missing those pleasure rides.

So did some ride and here are some photos:-

A stupa has been erected which was not there when i was in college.Work was carried on at that time:-

Then i went to DAYA river by the side of dhauli. Legend has it that King Ashoka when fought the kalinga war by the side of this river this river turned into red with bloods of people as people of Utkala(then the name of odisha), fought very bravely. This sight of the blood red river changed him and he became the great buddha.

My friend and me used to sit here for hours silent find peace in ourselves.Joy standing here withstanding the forces of nature for 15 years.

Then i went toward the road to konark, Just remembering the college days as we used to roam without aim.

On the road found a temple with lots of trees. So thought it is a good spot to take photos.

The best angle of Joy as i like the classic looks with the round headlight. Looks like mini bullet and i would buy another bike if hero launches with same styling and glamour engine. I do not know why i am fascinated by round headlight and classic looks.

And i have a video of joy idling and throttle response:-

Sorry about the video quality. Got the Lumia 630 and will post HD video.

The popping sound is the after burn sound as the silencer is free flow and the engine is running a little rich at that time. Now tuned correctly.

The vibration sound that you are hearing is the spare spark plug in the locker compartment vibrating.

Hi Sibun I'm in all awe for your joy. My friend owns a HH Dawn 02' model which has clocked a little over 1.5 lacs, I was trying my hand at the carburetor to check and gain the optimal settings, however it never seems to be tuned right. Could you suggest me the stock carb air screw and idle screw setting. In addition to this I was trying to replace the fork oil as it had run more than 20k since the last change. I also thought it best to change the oil seals but due to my inadequate expertise on the procedure had to jus change the oil and refit. I might be sounding noobish here but frankly speaking I have the shocker tool to hold the piston and unscrew the Allen key at the bottom case but was not successful, as while inserting the shocker tool the square shaped end on the tool fails to seat firmly on the Allen shaped piston head to stop it from rotating. Kindly advise me on this as many have advised me to pick up a shocker tool with a Allen key at end and kept telling me it needs proper experience in order to do a fork oil swap.

Everything needs experience. Be it walking you gained experience by falling down repeatedly, so nothing to worry as experience is the great teacher.

As for the carb tuning, then check the air screw and change it. The air screw tip would be having some grooves which is not letting the tuning be set correct. Change the screw along with o-ring,washer and spring. Also clean the carburettor thoroughly and do the needful.

As for the fork tool get one or make one that will have pointed square tip. Will post photo if i go to my mechanic tomorrow. And if oil seals are not leaking then no need of changing. A simple oil change job will do.

Not ours but every country history is filled with blood bath and all. Its because we learn from our mistake.

But we have not learned anything as we still are as savage as before. The animals have become more humans and we have become more animals. The greed for money and power has led us to nowhere.

Humans now a days are not happy with what they get but they are jealous of what others get. I am very sad now-a-days because of the very fact that people just measure you in others yard stick. It doesn't matter what you are, but it is more of matter of what you can become. Sadly it is true, and may be someday i can run far away from the maddening crowd to gain my inner peace and self esteem.

May be deep in life we all long that we live alone and just left to ourselves. I am now in that stage when nobody is there to lighten your mind. Instead everybody is thrusting there problems on me to solve and nobody is caring for my problems.

May be this is the part of my life as being eldest in family among all my aunt's and uncles children has its effects.

I come here as a relief to my mind. Similarly i on that day went to that place and just sat there for 3 hours without uttering a single word. Sitting like that for hours uplifts my mood.

But there were a few dogs roaming here and there. Out of them there was a young dog most probably 8-9 months old and he was looking at me. I just signaled him with eye as to what you are looking. I do not know what he understood, he climbed on the place that i was sitting and came near me and sat by the side of me. That small dog really uplifted my mood.

People who have come in contact with me say i am very silent, do not talk much and sometimes think me lunatic as to i talk with dogs, cats, cows. But they do not that while i remain silent, a lot of things run in the brain. My brain is constantly busy thinking on lots of things. Even when i am in sleep i will be thinking about many things. Thats why i am silent as i am busy thinking in my mind.

May be you all will be surprised as to why i am typing all this, but i think it is on this forum that i can speak out the things that are in my mind as nobody hears my mind and here i just speak out to clean out my mind. Sorry if i am boring you all.
