Since your bike has done a very good number in the odo, i guess you would have made some long rides in it too. Can you share them? With pics, of course

Small update: changed spark plug of my passion pro with bosch mico u4a. Now bike has no cold start issue and revs smoothly

In city 60-65 and on highways 70-75. Come on brother there is no need to tell about the legendary engine. The most reliable engine in the world.[emoji106][emoji1]

But I hear that maximum this engine gives is only 65kmpl that's why I enquire about mileage

65 kmpl was given by 2005-2007 splendors i think.

This thing is somewhat true as Hero had to adjust parameters to cope with Bharat Stage norms . But still splendor can give easily 65+ , older ones like pre 2005 era gives 75+ since it had no catcon and lesser pollution norms. I have 2002 splendor which in any condition gives 60kmpl . Where can i find one ?
Already i feel xtreme so responsive above 5k , with slide carb it will be like twin turbo kick.
I am dearly missing my xtreme since i am living in Mumbai for my Mtech . As soon as i return home in Dusshera break i will fix that intake manifold issue in xtreme . Then splendor's ignition issue. Will update here soon

Hi All,

I'm basically from Electronics graduate and working in software. I have Splendor of 2002 which is completing its 12th year on this month 27th. I have been following this forum from past 2month (might look in short, believe me I have read each and every reply). After 2 months of reading and understanding + Experimenting few things on my bike all in my home started too look in surprise at me doing all mechanic things on my own for my dream bike. (Special Thanks to my Father for having all tool in kit).

Special thanks to Sibun, shoeb and Pinaki for sharing all the knowledge.

Post I may bug all of you with my questions, please help since I have not much knowledge on auto-mechanics.

My joy returns 70-75 kpl in city and 80-85 kpl on highways. Sometimes i get excess of 90 kpl if ridden with controlled right hand wrist.

You can find one outside of india, but they will cost a Arm and leg.

The said extreme was running a flat slide carb, along with polished head, free flow exhaust and the body was fitted with R15 front section for better aerodynamics. Man that thing was pulling like crazy and was causing wheel spins in 2nd gears.

Ya we all dearly miss our bikes. But hey this is what that makes us fight so that we can get good job and maintain our passion.

Carburetor parts soaking in plain water right now , after hot wash with detergent+water .



a) removed all parts this time , there was no rubber o-ring on either the Air screw or the Idle screw ( but there was a spring on both ) . Is this correct ? Only one rubber o-ring on the fuel-bowl drain screw .

b) air screw's tip was totally gummed black , idle-jet fully clogged ( wonder how bike was running at all ) .

Next I shall clean all the holes everywhere with Cyclo carb cleaner .

There is an o ring in both IIRC , but i am sure there is in air screw , it must have been stuck inside the hole , mine always does so please check there , that o ring is not seperately sold ( most of the places ) and comes with complete set of air screw

This is from the Splendor's carb ? because I'm sure there wasn't any on mine ! I have checked this earlier and again now , with magnification under strong light . It is possible to be missing from factory ? Because these 2 screws have never been opened on my bike earlier .

Yes its a new screw i bought from svc , as o ring of old screw was gone beyond words. Missing from factory ? No dada it cant be otherwise you would face lean condition otherwise known as vacuum leak . It has to be somewhere there itself . The airscrew consists of 4 parts
Screw
Spring
Rubber
Washer

If you zoom and carefully see there is an oring stuck in the hole with washer . It is kinda hard to remove without damaging it.

Ok , now with your kind encouragement I found the washer and o-ring inside the Air-screw hole !! pulled them out too with tweezers - no problem . Thanks a lot lot lot .
But unlike your pic , these were at the tip of the screw ? I mean it goes in like this , right ?



Nothing found inside the Idle screw hole though .
