• Re: Help for fork straightening

Front fender means the front mudguard ? Well that thing is never in line with wheel axle , since it does not need a precise fit . Fork straightening means which part is bend ? The fork stanchions (tubes) ? or the T-stem ? Whats wrong with the handle bar ? Was the bike involved in a severe accidental fall ? Some other vehicle hit the front wheel or fork sideways ever ?
If T-stem is bend - better buy new parts . Fork tubes can be straightened by lathe . But to check these for bend , they must be taken off the bike . You can't decide on such defects by mere visual inspection . Since you are depending on the bike for your daily travel , I think it would be better to go ahead and dismantle the front parts and check asap , for safety .

Friends , what is the feedback on Veedol Take-Off 4t Premium 10w30 on Splendor ?
Suddenly , I am out of oil - my stock have been depleted by friends . And just now my trusted oil shop is saying no stock on Gulf synth 10w30 ( Rs 300 ) or Gulf pride 4T 10w30 ( Rs 270 ) , have to wait a month . Hero oil bottle is also gone Rs 250 . I am getting the veedol 10w30 for Rs 240 , less if I buy 5 ... so ?

Pinaki da are you using 10w30 on splendor now? Why? Earlier you was using 20w40 and also suggested me to use 20w40 in my passion. Why this sudden change[emoji15]

Oil for winter only , drained and replaced with 20w40 on first day of March . Doing this for past couple of years . Very effective in dealing with the requirements of season .

Veedol makes the best oil in business in every category. Be it 10W 30, 20W 40 and 10W 40 and shoeb2015 and i are using the the 10 W 30 in our extreme, veedol super swift 10W 40 from ages in my Joy and all. Since you know so much about oils buy a pack and see for yourself as it is the only oil in mineral at that price point that comes with API SM and Jaso MA2 in its category. Also its the only oil in market that gives the rating for low oil temperature performance, aged oil viscosity, ball rust test and all. But both 10W 30 and 20W 40 and keep stock.

And you are from kolkatta, so it is easier to get veedol.

Guys I am no expert in engine oil, I am not sure if 20W40 should be used when the manufacturer recommend 10W30, if I am not wrong 20 grade oil's viscosity is twice as 10 grade. This means oil from the crank many not be able to reach the head.

Edit: I read about this on xbhp itself, please do search.

Hi Everyone,

Periodic oil change has never been easy for me. I have always stuck to recommended oil grade, 20W40 mineral oil confirming to JASO MA standards.
Changing oil every 1800-2000kms has been a routine on my CD100. I have seen that mineral oil with grades on viscosity means that 20W would be the viscosity maintained in winter temperature and 40 meaning the viscosity in summer temperature to the corresponding degrees. I however see many of the experts change oil to a completely different grade for the winter, maybe owing to the region's climatic condition but not sure if its applicable to all regions of India. Im sure the experts can clarify my doubts here.

Try adjusting the tuning screw (dont touch the center one) and see if its works. I think power is not reaching to its coil. So tightening the screw will join both the points and your horn will get power. There must be too much gap, therefore its not working. When it starts working then keep tuning back & forth to reach your desire clear sound.

I apologize for delay in providing you with the resolution.

Ya you are absolutely right as once you start using veedol you will never want to go back to any other oil. Have been a happy customer of veedol super swift and take off premium from last 6 years.

Glad you are replying on this forum after so many days. Yes the bike looks good and also small details like compression ratio has been bumped to 9.9:1 and power to 8.36 Ps is also there.

I am glad as i was searching for a round MFR headlamp for my joy which uses HS1 bulb and has parking light. The new CD DAWN had the MFR with HS1 bulb but didn't had parking lamp which my Joy had. Also will import some parts like front mudguard, the mirrors on my Joy.

As for my Joy recently took on the highway as after engine re-built bike had not gone on Highway. Bike has run 3.5k after engine re-built.

Engine is running on Veedol super swift, on new air filter and torque is just stupendous. Decided to gun the bike for freeing the engine and also increasing compression. On full throttle bike went till 90 kph. Bike was running little rich. After reaching the place re-tuned the bike and the air screw was set to 0.25 turns lean as it came out to be perfect settings.

While returning bike hit 95 kph top and was slowly climbing. Another two three trips on highway and regular gunning will once again increase the top speed beyond 100 on speedo.

While returning i crossed a passion pro at 90 kph and he got offended. After some time i slowed and he crossed me at 80 kph, i just laughed and though that i was not trying and you are showing off. Once i touch full throttle you will not be able to catch me.

Also shot a video of my bikes idle and throttle response. Will post soon.

Yes im glad to be back I suppose you can import the new chrome mudguard as well as the rear one... tank in black looked very classy..... you can have a look at it as well... I for one... will be on a look out for its clubman handlebar! also after the bump in compression ratio is it still regular fuel happy or will be happier with higher octain rating fuel? I suppose regular should be fine.....

Im sad my bike isnt running as much as it used to... using my caR a lot more now a days.... will be swiching back to mineral oil this time maybe....veedol 20w50 is on my radar after all the appraisal it has received here...

Currently saving cash for an rc390ktm or a new car...still have to save a year....my mind tells me to go for the hero classic but I know my heart will not be satisfied... never the less....hero is improving leaps and bounds... and a clutch less, auto transmission splendour is on the cards soon.....! (source hidden).... as a surprise 7 people out of the 12 in my locality who had bought a honda 110cc neo and all...have shifted to a splendour within a year!! The little gem keeps surprising me....

Yes , I can get Veedol and other tide-water products at lowest rates directly from their regional distributors here . Even the Hero 10w30 made by tide water . But now no point getting Hero 10w30 @ Rs 250 ! Since I feel like draining it at 1200kms . Last winter I used Gulf Synth 4T 10w30 @ Rs 300 , that was an excellent one - but now in short supply .

Pinaki ji , i bought 3-4 bottles at price of 200rs per bottle of Hero oil by tide water . Oil is brillant for 200rs as it easily holds for 1500km in xtreme , although i use Gulf pride 4T plus 20w40 in splendor whose price is now hiked to 310/- for 1L . I find valvoline 20w40 for 260/- value for money as it last 2K kms and was smooth on engine. BTW winters are coming are you planning on stocking w30 oil for this season ? [emoji1]

Hero is on the edge of releasing three new engines in the range of 100,110, and 250cc, developed with the help of ricardo, avl austria, and eric buell, i have readed that they might use 110cc engine from the festive season, i hope the newer engines are as good or better than the current engines supplied by honda, as the future of hero depends on these engines.
