Frankly speaking, I dont know to tune the carburetor, sir ji. You have the carb tuning guide in your signature, right? Can i try to follow that? or is that meant for only foe cbz and hunk?

Well, frankly speaking it was your encouragement the other day that made me take the Dawn to the next level. I owe it all to you, all my other friends on bullets that day deliberately left late hoping to catch up with me on the highway anytime soon, but that never happened. The guys who rode bullets at high speeds said they always felt like halting every 30kms for a break owing to the high vibrations on the shoulder and back. The dawn was not entirely comfy on the highway but was at least capable of cruising for 50kms at speeds of 70-90kmph at a stretch, this helped me gain a considerable lead over them and the bike's engine never over heated as I took timely breaks to cool it.

I'm sure the HH Dawn is not such a great bike when compared to Splendor, Passion in terms of comfort but surely felt reliable and convenient.

I was able to touch a max top speed of 93kmph.
It steadily cruises at speeds of 70-75kmph without impacting FE to a large extent.
The one problem that seems irritating on this bike is its cold starts, it can be quite annoying.

A simple no-nonsense bike, I thoroughly enjoyed the ride.

Yes you can follow that except no need of opening the air injection pipe. Tune directly by raising the rpm.

Pro has an air screw and xtreme has a fuel screw right? Then how can follow xtreme's method to tune a passion pro?

The basic principles is same irrespective of air or fuel screw as bike will be at highest rpm at the correct mixture and any deviation from correct mixture will bring the rpm down.

Okay sir ji. So let me tell you the procedure before i tune it today.

The procedure: Ride the bike for 15 minutes or 10 kms.
Turn the idle screw a little bit higher rpm.

Turn the air screw fully in the clockwise direction by starting the bike.

Now, slowly turn the air screw in anticlockwise direction, till the rpm is highest and the bike should vibrate. Then lower the rpm of the idle screw.

Am i correct? If yes, I will do it now and report here right away.

My restored bike feels rock solid, but 2 very important issues-
1. Mileage still under 50kmpl(Its been 3K since restoration).
2. Bike stresses too much at 60kmph(Even my Star City feels happy at 70).
The mechs are not able to tune it properly. Looking at he plug, he said, mileage shouldnt be less than 60kmpl(frankly, anything above 50kmpl, I am happy. Even my RTR gives me nearly 42-44 Kmpl).
PS: Due to time constraint, not been able to take it to our expert Sibun Bhai aswell.

The second problem is because of the first problem. Its because of the tuning that bike is feeling stressed.

Any sunday morning come to BBSR and we will look after the problem. We will directly go to our mechanic he will test the mileage first then he will do the work and then again we will test the mileage and we will confirm the same.

These days not getting much time to even look after my bikes , no cleaning so rain caused some rusting which i haven't noticed & done some free riding with mix road when i back to home while cleaning i found my Passion rear ring is broken Its been 13 years without any out . Thinking to get silver alloy wheels of spleandor+ or dawn but got confused , Hero showroom guys saying it might not work good & they haven't done it so no experience . My mechanic saying it will work but needs lots more thing to be changed including gear hub, chain kit, linear plates, linears & even front ring to alloy as skipping it will look odd .
Estimated quotes are
For Alloy Wheel Setup
Rear Alloy ~ 2600/-
Rear Linear Plate ~ 600/-
Rear Linears ~ 150/-
Gear Hub ~ 500/-
Front Alloy ~ 2300/-
Chain Kit ~ 1000/-

Total ~ 7000+

For Ring setup

Ring ~ 600
Spokes ~ 200
Fitting Charges by tyrewala ~ 100

Total ~ 900/-

Obviously ring setup seems to be good decision considering my both tyre also pending for change.
But as i have got no problem from my passion yet , even not any puncture in front tyre . So wanting to give it new look with alloy .

What you senior experienced guys think ? Is that alloy mod work or i will get in some trouble ? Mere liye to dimaag pe dil havi ho gaya hai

By the way what about tyres ? Thinking to put both with Moto D as on passion pro tr but my use is not off road , so will they good or bad .

Don't waste your money on the alloys, get the stock rim+spokes set from Hero
Change your tires, you could use the moto D but only for the rear or just go with the regular zappers.
Save the money you might spend on alloys for a rainy day when you require some work on the engine or for any other necessary parts as part of regular maintenance.

Ok i have been trying to post this for many days but due to network connectivity error couldn't do so.

Every year during dusherra i do puja of my bike. SO this year was no different.

The twist in the story came a few months ago. The story starts some 3-4 months ago as our biking brother s1d had requested me for OE NGK plug for his Dio and Rx and also a compatible plug cap for his Rx. Due to some personal commitments and cousins marriage i was late in sending those and i am extremely sorry for that.

Finally send it through Speed post and India post did a commendable job of delivering it in 3 days to hyderabad.

Now after that i just forgot about the parcel. Now our brother s1d being a humble guy, felt offended that i didn't ask money. So he asked shoeb2015 if he can send me something. And now the story is that i had asked Shoeb for a Sonax polish as it is not available here and also snapdeal doesn't deliver here. So shoeb gave him the idea to send me a polish to me as return gift.

Since Sonax doesn't have delivery here so our s1d bhai send me the Armour All Wax and wax.

As luck would have been got it 3 days prior to Dusherra so got ample time to use it and post a review. Thanks s1d.

As for the product here is a short summary:-

- The product boasts of washing and at the same time laying a layer of Caranuaba wax on the paint.

- Like most car shampoos doesn't make much foam and cleans dust and oily residues with ease.

- After washing when polishing the surface was smooth and it was easy to buff off the wax. So claim of wax after washing is true.

Some photos:-

I had previously told of my cousin brother who looks after style and doesn't like my Joy and also think that style is everything in bike, that is the blue shirt guy.

Now coming to the yellow shirt guy he is now in 10th class. Since class 6 he is assisting me in every work i do on my bike. He alone can adjust the tappet, adjust tuning, do a general servicing without any help and has sat through an engine re-build with me. He love the Joy as much as i do and even tells his friend about my Joy and even some of his friends has come to our house to look at the Joy.

Brother Sibun, your joy always stands out in a crowd, its a gem of a bike.
Do you think my friend's Dawn whose mud flaps are long gone share those of the Joy, and is it possible to pickup OE chrome mud-guards and the flaps from a hero distributor, I last inquired and was shocked to know that they are no longer in supply or production. Only the fiber guards are available that too for the cd dawn and may not fit HH Dawn. The guards are gone rusted and patched up with metal paste and silver color sprayed from a can and look quite shoddy.

sibun sir, cool photos there. I enjoyed starring them all. And thank you so much for the timely help. My bike is much better now. I went to my mechanic and told my problem today noon, after talking to you. (I tried to tune the air screw today also! but not upto the mark sir ji). So, he rotated the screw very slightly in clockwise direction. At that time the engine was hot, so that i could not able to notice the difference. Tomorrow the real situation will be confirmed. Anyway, overall there is a very good improvement.. Will test the riding experience tomorrow and clean the carburetor if the riding condition is bad. What do you say?
