I think Bajaj Platina gives more mileage than Splendor.

My recently overhauled splendor - My uncle using it. He clocked 1000+ KMs within 2 weeks (full highway ride). Speed under 50KMPH. He said he used approximately 12 liters of petrol and the mileage is 83KMPL. That is a 2000 Model. He is happy with the bike now.

In your splendor I am not sure, If everything is correct at least we can expect 70+KMPL. Changing tubeless wider tyres may not reduce the mileage by 10KMs. It will reduce but around 3-4 KMs.

I am getting the thoughts like: some one is stealing your petrol or Petrol is not accurately filling in Petrol bunk. Please change Petrol bunk and check.

I always get cheated in petrol bunks. Now a days I switched to Shell - No Cheating, they fill proper amount of petrol and correct bill will be provided.

Even I have enquired many people the similar way about mileage. Everybody says around 55-60KMPL. On contrary everybody says, it is a no problem bike, easy to handle & ride in city.

            Guys, just sharing my experience.

During my Discover 100 days unused to do 750kms for 1350~1500 RS riding at 85~90kmph. On my P220 I do the same route, maintaining the same speeds, and fueling for the same amount range.

The only difference is the D100 would be bouncing off the limiter, where as the P220 would be running at 6~7k RPM comfortably.

Ok. Bro we are asking for mileage problem.if u rip the small engine at its full potential then you will get very less mileage.
But i have maintained same speed under 40kmph.i always have doubts about the fuel ⛽ efficiency of the Splendour bike.

Exactly. And speed alone can't be a determinant cause there are other variable factors, load, altitude, incline/decline and what not. Cause I've done less than 40kmph climbing uphill and still received pathetic figures from the D100. It would be better to get the mileage tested with that external thingi that SVC uses, and that too on a plain road with moderate throttle input as it would take away most of the responsible factors. Thanks. My bike is just 289km old and there is nobody stealing petrol ⛽ because it was parking 🅿 outside the showroom with other bikes and the security guard always keeps eyes on the bike which are standing no more than 10feet away. I always fill petrol⛽ from the same fuel station from the last 9 years.i am always ride single with no pillion on board. Give smooth acceleration and maintaining speed under 40kmph.warm uo the engine about 3 minutes.

Does mileage increase after first service.
                  Currently my mileage is 60kmpl.

                    Hi All,

Does anyone here know the cost of the seat for HH Splendor.
Mine is a 2001 model so I don't know if I would get the seat for it.

Since the bike is so old the seat needs a replacement.

                      Hi, One of my friend had visited 3 local mechanics regarding mileage issue with his TVS Star Sports. Results are given below;

Mechanic 1: Air filter changed. (Issue not rectified)
Mechanic 2: Carburetor re-tuned. (Issue not rectified)
Mechanic 3: Replaced the petrol tank and pipe, it was leaking (Issue rectified)

The pipe which is attached to the carburator and goes down is always wet in my Splendour 2016 model.what could be the reason behind it.

I am not familiar with HH Splendor. Are you pointing about the overflow pipe from Carburetor.? Then your carburetor might be dirty causing an overflow. If your not closing the fuel valve while parking in the night, next day you can find out drops of petrol beneath the bike parked. You can feel the smell of petrol while driving also.

Keep the speeds in the economy range as mentioned in the speedometer. Wait till 3000 kms, the bike would deliver 72+ kmpl for sure.

When I bought my bike, it delivered around 52 kmpl in the beginning. After each service, the mileage would increase. At present it is delivering more than 70 kmpl. Also the bike would reach the 40,000 km mark by this week.

Since we own a 2005 model CT 100, I would like to make a comparo. Bajaj gives more mileage for sure. Our CT 100 is still delivering 82 kmpl. But when coming to the engine feel, ride quality, taking much abuse, engine note, Hero is a leap ahead.

check the flot in carb, that could be the reason for your little less milage.carb is overflowing.normally after third service only milage will improve,so no need to worry about millage now.surely you will get 70+ with your tubeless tyres, happy riding.

If it is the tube that hangs under the float bowl you refer to , there are only just 2 conditions when petrol may drip out of it , giving the tube a wet end with dirt sticking to it .
                                1) the fuel drain screw under the float bowl ( at the base of this tube ) is open or loosened - check if it's snug , do not over-tighten .
                                2) there is some dirt in the carb or a leaky float etc - anything preventing the float-pin from closing the petrol inlet to the carb causing an overflow condition .

Best would be to take out the carburetor as a whole , dismantle it , check for any defective parts and give it a spring clean . With the quality of petrol we get here , cleaing the idle jet at least has become a regular service item for me . It's easy to do and useful to learn . Also there are several enlightening videos on you-tube on servicing motorcycle carburetors .

Agree about the fuel mileage , CT100 engine is a much more modern design . 2 other advantages I found is a) parts are cheaper b) regular service items like Air-Filter assembly are simpler hence easier to work on . I am bringing up a friend's very uncared CT100 to spec right now
