@Sibun sir, I'm done for!!! Then when shall i start doing things myself?!. My bike has completed 12006 kms as of today. I am getting my bike serviced tomorrow. Earlier in this thread, i read that in summer, 20w 40 engine oil is good, told by Pinaki sir. I went to spare parts store today and asked about castrol 20w 40. The price was Rs. 270. Quantity is 1 litre. Can i go for the oil? Suggestions please. Thank you for clarifying me regarding the air filter.

Yes what u read is correct but don't go for castrol ever. There are fakes coming and there are lots of other companies better than castrol. Simply go for veedol take off 4t plus, else gulf, shell and motul all are good and best in performance. Don't go for shell AX5 20w40, its good but not that good as others, but AX7 10w40 semi-synt is best. In 20w40 anyone out of veedol, gulf, motul is good to go....!!

Exactly.....
Castrol has become like bajaj
Lots of shapes sizes and colors.... lots of fakes and quality at an sll time low.
Veedol gulf all will be much better..
On a personal note

If you can try to source a motul 3100 gold:P
Thank me after you have used it

Mr.Paul and Mr. Divyan thank you for the awareness. I really dont know that there are a lot of fake castrol oils in the market. Shall i go for veedol? does veedol have 20w 40 grade? When i went to shop today, there was only motul 15w 50. Can i use that? (motul 15w 50)

Hello motul 15w50 will be a thicker oil and is excellent for summers I think because oil will not become thinner in high temperatures I.e it wont loose its viscosity. Your oem grade is 10w30 I think...
You can buy the oil no problem. Drain it at around 2500 to 3000 km and keep your engine happy.
If possible buy a 20w40 , 10w40, but 15w50 will do no harm.
Veedol is also good try thst if you may.

I got my bike serviced today. The bike is even more smooth now. The gear shifting cannot be felt now. That much smooth. Before service, the gear shift from 1st to 2nd makes a 'thud' noise. It has almost vanished now.
Things that were changed during the service;
1. Air filter (Rs. 138). Thank you Sibun sir.
2.Engine oil veedol 4T 20w 40. (Rs. 230). Thank you Paul sir, Mr.Divyan, Pinaki sir.
The old oil used in the bike was Hero 4T plus 10w 30. It was black in colour during draining. I took some pictures while the bike was getting serviced today. Will re-size them and post tonight.
Earlier before joining Xbhp and knowing you people, i had a thought that the bike should be serviced in the service centre alone. All the spare parts should be bought from the authourized showroom only, the mechanics in the service centres knows very much about the bikes than the local mechanics do. But you people guided me in a correct way. I can get any information and help i need from you all. I am very satisfied with my little passion pro. Regarding the engine sound, it was almost the stock sound, but now it is like "buzzzzzzzz". well,,.. i am not able to express it in words.. Hope you all can understand it

I have a question....
My free flow exhaust was damaged today
A fat fried climed on the bike from the wrong side and stepd on the exhaust and it just broke from the bend pipe joint .... it was a little rusted I agree....
Now this is how I had made the exhaust....
I had bought a stock pulsar ug4 exhaust and cut the mouth of it... and removed some glass wool and shortened it by about 4 inches and reinstalled the the top with gas welding...
Now....I had no overheating issues or any other problems apart from a louder exhaust note and a rev happy engine and in the higher rpms the bike was very happy and peppy....
But my mechanic said the valves will take a beating but in the 10k kms I used it I saw no effect except a little fall in fuel economy.
Should I make another one?
Or stock is ok? And I should not risk damaging the engine?

You have a great mechanic. His words are true.
Stick to the stock exhaust.

You have a pulsar or you have a pulsar exhaust on a different bike. Pics of your bike please

Brother I have a 2003 classic pulsar 150
And I had modified the stock exhaust of a newer edition pulsar, currently my pulsar in on stock exhaust that came with the bike.

Ot:- the crome exhaust from 2003 has not rusted till date!
When chromed things now a days are rust magnets.

The chrome exhaust is the best. I was running the chrome exhaust on my new pulsar 220. It feels like a freeflow in the 220.

Yes its as bassy as an apaches stock exhaust....
Unfortunately engine noise on pulsars is so high the exhaust note is usually muddled.....
I have never quite found a solution to engine noise in a pulsar...
Any pointers?

My uncle took the cd100 out today.... the kick didnt budge ast half....the engine oil was drained and new oil was boiled in a pan and a stove till it was slightly smoking and poured in the engine..... the kick was then shaken and it moved! My uncle kept moving the kick up and down with the ingnition off and the bike in gear for about 20 times,.... and then the bike was left to cool down....
New spark plug was put and carb etc installed and the bike was filled with petrol and kicked and after a few kicks it came to life! The 3rd gear is still broken nd knocks when its on 3rd but the bike moves and rides fine... all the cabels are also stock!!!!
Tyres wer filled with air and they are cracked and deformed but the bike runs fine!!!! Im amazed at this feat! Uncle said there is a little black and sometimes white smoke from the exhaust but it runs 20 years in a slumber I guess! He will now get the bike fixed at a mechanic or I have the option of keeping it. Contemplating what to do.....

If I had that opportunity and parking space then I would get it in a split second without any other thought.
However, if your uncle is planning to fix the bike for his personal use then let him keep the bike. If he plans to sell it- get the bike, documents and restore to factory spec for your use.
