    • I think that Rs700 or 800 or whatever is for complete carburetor re-build kit which includes jets, float, float pin,air screw and o-rings,nahi ?

      Carburetor flange o-ring costs Rs.5/-

      EDIT:
Please share the cataloue with me tooo even if it is not clear.

Edit: My bike is 9 years old and so the carburettor and its o-rings, jets, air screw too....but this o-ring needa change.

          • 2 questions

            i) what is the price for one whole Keihin PB carburetor ? (not more than Rs1500 I think? )

ii) I think the keihin PBs used on all CD,Splendor,Passion varies slightly according to the year of manufacture , but are basically all the same design and are all interchangeable . Am I right ?

                1. Last time when I had inquired about the old model carburetor,it was about Rs.1780/-.
2.All the models basically have same carb but some models like joy had #100 jet and others have 105.
In some models vacuum tube for air-injection diaphragm is connected to carb, whereas in others it is connected to the intake manifold.

No way that rubber band costs 500 I think ...

As i have mentioned in my previous post the valve stem and valve guide have a sliding fit meaning the stem will slide on the guide. But when you polished the valve stem you removed some material which was enough to make it free.
So now the valve stem is loose in guide and thus causing noise. Change the valves. Also before doing anything to carburettor and all other parts, just change the valve and remember to lap in only one direction. Change of valves will solve your problem.

Who is giving all this bullshit. The o-ring of float bowl cost Rs. 25 or something. I will ask my friend and post. The parts list show a set which will consist of 25 or 50 packets and not a single unit. The service center gets a big packet and thus the price list quoted is Rs. 705.

The price of OE carb for prior 2000 model is RS. 1560 and after 2000 model is Rs. 1760.
The new model after 2010 which have carburettors like super splendor(TPS, airscrew as in super splendor) cost Rs. 2400.The new model fits in passion pro(new engine), CD DELUXE(new engine), CD DAWN(new engine), splendor nxg(new model) but splendor+ after 2010 also come with old model carburettor.
I will post details of carburettor and parts in next post with a table.

I will. but i haven't touched the stem. Stem is not polished only that carbon area.
One more thing...when i was going to open my head 2 days ago. I saw some oil leaks from bore packing. Because when i previously removed the head the exhaust pipe hit the one long rod (the 4 long bolts where block and head stays) and the block feel the jerk and the Mobil leaked from bore packing.....it was my carelessness.
I doubt, the mobile has started leaking now.....not sure...so i cleaned it perfectly to check further leaking....i'm worried
if it is leaking then? opening a block and refitting it may damage the bore i think...whts your recommendation?
                      I'm just waiting for confirmation.

Mobil is leaking because bore o-ring is damaged. When you buy head o-ring kit, you get three o-rings for Rs. 44. But two are only used. The third one is bore o-ring and is used when bore is opened.
Usually when bore is opened then new rings are always replaced. But i will give you a method where no rings are required.
                        1. Open the head.
                        2. Open the bore bolt at the side of bore.
                        3. Open the timing chain roller bolt by the side of the bore.
                        4. Now slowly slide out the bore.
                        5. Ensure that piston is at TDC.
                        6. Slide the bore such that the piston comes out of bore till the gudgeon pin.
                        7. The rings must not come out of bore. If rings come out then new rings are required. Just see that the bore edge is above the gudgeon pin and below the rings.
                        8. Now take out the left side lock of gudgeon pin and push the gudgeon pin from right side. Make sure the piston doesn't come out of bore. Do not open both side locks, only open one side and push the pin out from other side.
                        9. Now replace the packing and o-ring.
                        10. Reverse the process and fit the gudgeon pin and lock before sliding down the bore completely. Also fit the timing chain roller and fit the bore. If the rings do not come out then no need of new rings.
And no bore doesn't get damaged if piston is taken out. Its just that new rings are required if piston is taken out.
If you haven't opened bore then take the help of mechanic. Bore is a place where no mistake is required.

In conclusion, the piston should not be taken out of the bore...
                          I see....
It is not leaking i think...that is a local packing, local con rod i think...dont know about o-ring, local tensioner...
should i change it all even if it doesn't leak? Just for future consequences....whats your prediction?

                          Just asking for knowledgeable purpose...
suppose If rings are changed then it will last or not?
mechanic says its just only for temporary purpose. Last no long.

Mechanic's open that unit & oil the rubber diaphragm but it is good for some km only . In summer it won't help . Will skip changing as its only sound like crackers when ridden in high rpm on low gears . And that problem is from some 6/7 years , which created no other issue .

Its name is shown as "GASKET, SET" & its cost as per the hero spare cost list posted by ashwin is र 705/- that's why i said may be price is wrong or by gasket set it means all gasket's packing needed for complete one bike .

The parts list show a set which will consist of 25 or 50 packets and not a single unit. The service center gets a big packet and thus the price list quoted is Rs. 705.

I did that once on my passion when bore gasket started leaking, most of the mechanics use that technique when the crankcase needs to be split for some reason like bearing replacement, kicker ratchet replacement etc..

(It is strange but due to repeated over-tightening of the drive chain by my friend, his splendor needed a new output shaft bearing, rear sprocket bearing and new chain kit).

CHECK the condition of the sprocket teeth,if they are found to be worn-out or bent -Replace it immediately as it can possibly affect the timing.

Sibun, what do you say, ?

                                EDIT:
What is Mobil,in some posts I even see mobile ? Are you referring to the engine oil as Mobil ? or your engine oil made by Mobil ?
