Lovely set ... now I have to check your pics to get all that I'm missing here .. or maybe I'll jus steal a few pieces .
My tools are rudimentary . I made a point to buy only when I really needed a piece starting from the toolkit that came with our family car many years back ... to limit the already unmanageable amount of stuff I have got . For example my spanners are only of the sizes I need , and not the whole series . And I wish they would sell those nice easy-hold single ended spanners like they used to back then .. since sometimes I get an urge to chop off the end with a size I never used .

@ Sibun - How did you get the bike in there !!!!

Nice collection of tools you all have. I also have stocked tools from quite a long. But i cannot post because it is placed in a large wooden box.
The list are i have a set of socket from #8 to #30, open end spanner set from #6 to #30, ring spanner set from #8 to #24 and i have a set of screwdrivers of tata with rubber handles and carbide tip. I have a set of 10 philips head screw driver with various size of tips.
Regarding engine overhauling manual i am slowly writing a book on splendor series engine and will next write on extreme/hunk.Once i write i will type it in word format and also add the required pictures and will give all a soft copy. But it will take time.
Today i washed my joy after one month. It was raining here for last one month and I visit 4-5 sites daily for work related matters. Today was off and since weather was sunny i washed my joy and it took me 2 hours to wash. The whole bike was applied car shampoo and left for 15 minutes to soak and then each parts was cleaned one by one.My work place that i visit is such that it looks like only tractors can go through it. Tomorrow after returning from gym at 7 AM i will polish and wax the bike. Didn't get to wash the CBZ extreme as it is having a free service in next 3 days. The extreme is also heavily dirty and the ASC will have a hell of time.
Some photos of my work site and you will get an idea:-
      that is my extreme.
These pictures were taken on a dry day. Once it rains you will see the condition. Let me get a photo when it is raining.
Where is your work site ?

When you spend 2 hours washing/working on the bike, what comments do you get to hear from your family member's ?

Please start writing extreme's manual, splendor is a simple bike easy to understand and work with,BTW how many kms on CBZ's odo ?

I have a habit of pressure washing the bike every alternate day,I have fixed a tap and a valve directly to the bore-well pump.
Which car shampoo, wax, polish are you using ?

If that is the case then I can only imagine how that kutcha road will be on a kutcha rainy day !!!

My father was making collection from many years therefore we have this much now. We both love tools to DIY, that time was cheaper too, now the prices have dramatically increased. If u love to make collection, start it slowly and one day you will surely end up with more tools than me

All my best wishes with you. I can help you with any info that you might require about the Hunk (though I doubt, a novice like me can contribute). But I want to help you with stuff in my personal interest so that I can learn more about my motorcycle.

Do not worry i will ask everybody i think in helping me. Do not think that you are a novice. Even a day was there when i was novice. It is through discussion that knowledge is gained.I never read any books. I always think how to do it practically. I always try to find a method through which i can understand easily and also make others understand.
I will tell you a funny incident. I am a mechanical engineer. When i was doing my engineering in 6th semester we had I.C engine as a subject and in 7th semester we had automobile engineering as subject. As all here know that both are same except that in I.C engine only engine is taught and in automobile everything is taught. Now the lecturer who taught the subject didn't know a bit. I do not think he is the culprit. The culprit is our education. We read books of foreign authors and just mug up everything. Also there is very less exposure to practical. So what happened that neither the student understood anything nor the lecturer. Slowly i began to teach the students and my process are simple and thus everyone can understand easily. It happened that in the I.C engine class i would teach everyone and even the lecturer(young guy )will also listen to it so that he could teach others. The same thing was repeated in automobile engineering class.
And you will be surprised to know that i am only 24 years.

Good I'll too wash my bike, as my bike is going to complete its 9 years this 24-Aug as a date of purchase. I dont know about manufacturing date is there any way? via chassis no. or engine number?

And ya got all the required parts, i'll open my head after this monsoon
                will post the pics.

How do u drive to ur way? its ridiculous
Ok you are welcome and i will surely ask you for the help in gathering data.
This is a part, i visit many other site which are even worse than the pictures. Let me click some pictures then i will post. The photo i have posted is the middle of a river. I travel daily to these kind of places. So you can say i got the hang of off roading. When it rains then i do not take the cbz as it is hopeless in this terrain with those zappers. My joy is king of off roading as with those tyres it can keep up with tractors in off roading. My joy will pull through without any hiccup and will never get stuck.
There is a saying when the going gets tough the tough gets going. this aptly applies to my joy.

This is just a trailer. Wait let me get the photos of other sites i visit and also when it rains. It will feel like off roading like posted in team bhp.
I usually go to places where only tractors, drozers and trucks go. No cars can go. Our senior officer goes there in 4*4 scorpio and the official bolero stops at a distance and officer walk to the site. But i just plough through like a tractor. Moreover i have been off roading like this for nearly two years so it doesn't feel uncomfortable. But the downside is that my bikes get heavily muddy and great deal of time is wasted in washing it daily.

On a rainy day you will feel it difficult to walk. It is the middle of a river. This is a sandy river on which bridge is constructed. There are two other sites i visit. One such site is so bad that your rear will only slide side ways if you have no experience before. Let me get some photos when it is raining.
I will write extreme service manual but first let me gather all the data's.

                Regarding my work:-
I am a mechanical engineer presently working for a company which supplies equipments and ancillaries for plants and construction companies. My work is to visit various sites where our products are used and take measurements, see any problem is there or not and also to take the specification for the company in ordering new equipments. So i travel a lot on bikes and i feel it better than sitting in office. From childhood i have a habit that i cannot sit still for 5 mins.
                Regarding my families reaction:-
They know that i am a gone case. They know that i love my bikes very much and i will never be at peace until i do not finish my work on bikes.
After seeing me like this for the past 5-6 years they have adjusted to it and never say me anything. Sometimes they think i am mad and my madness is increasing day by day. But they are worried on only one thing i.e i spend 20-25% of my salary on my bikes. Rest i do not spend any thing on me nor i spend money on other things. Any money i spend is on my bikes and on music. I am a great sucker for home theaters. So i always try to upgrade my equipments. So 50% of my income is spent on bikes and my music equipments.
Even you will not believe that my girl friend left me for my habit of spending time with my bike rather than her. Most of the girls like to spend time with boys but in my case whatever time i get i spend on my bike or reading various automobile magazines.
I will tell the polish and shampoo i use and the procedure afterwards.

                • Speedo cable broke from the speedometer end,the outer cable cover was good.
This OE cable lasted just 2 years.
I tried to get just the inner spring cable but it was not in stock(It costs Rs.15 only),Suprajit/Remson cable was also not in-stock so had to buy OE for Rs.80/-.

I Lubricated the new inner cable with 90 gear oil and AP3 grease mix as the OE cable has no lubrication whatsoever.

                  LOL on trailer,

Same here,I also cannot sit idle for more than 1 day without doing anything on my bikes.
When I was in Xth class, just two days before my FINAL Mathematics exam I cleaned the carburetor for the first time and was scolded by my parents and they were totally shocked when I got an average of 91% in all subjects(ICSE)

A bike is any-day better than a selfish GF.

I also got MOTOMAX liquid polish,50ml bottle for Rs.25.
                        Gives excellent result,highly recommended.
Previously it was sold as ROBERT's polish and the one which I got it in 7/2010 is still not over and even the price is unchanged

The abrasive used in this polish is very mild and is actually good if the bike is polished once in a while.
To be on the safe side I am alternating between this and Formula 1 carnauba wax(hard to find, lots of fakes in market).
Carnauba wax needs time and effort but the shine is way better than liquid polish and lasts long,I am using this Regularly on my white Tata indigo .

Well I used it all over my bike to remove white spots as I mentioned already before .didn't feel any damage to paint.had a couple of big scratches above the head light.applied on them and it smoothed it out. Gives a decent polish too.

Even I used formula 1 wax after using the rubbing compound to give the bike a thorough waxing.Yes, there are many fakes available in the market.but here in Chennai,I have found a couple of places where they sell genuine stuff.

Also I changed the entire head light assy of my splendor and replaced it with splendor+ and fitted in the osram hs1 bulb I purchased.night illumination is much better.
