I have used 3M liquid wax (90 Rs) too and it shines painted areas very well .
Thanks Pinaki for your helpful reply. But a query...
Should i be using polish in the first place? It seems to be mildly abrasive and might take away paint, according to what i read in these forums!!

So should i stick to just wax alone after cleaning and drying the bike? if so, are the products you mentioned above wax or polish?

Yups , it's the same thing as the auto polish - solid wax .

Here they use the terms polish and wax interchangeably (technically incorrect) . All the 3 polishes I mentioned are 100% non-abrasive, polish by name only ... one is a solid carnauba wax and the other are liquid/semi-liquid paint shines . I always confirm that a product like this contains no abrasive before I would touch it .

Flat nose pliers can also be used.

          • 1) Guys my tank paint has turned white layer & its peeling off

How can i makeup/remove all whitish layer? using rubbing compound or something?

            2) I want to paint my Handle, its a pulsar one.
Reason for painting: Actually i got this handle for free from scrap from Bajaj SC, this is an accidental handle was found bent from right portion. I give to lathe to make it fix and cost 20 But after taking this from lathe i got some scratch on handle & i used a metal file to make it plain/makeover. The original paint was already gone its about 2.5 years ago i haven't paint but now i want to do it because i know u people will really help me

I went to two local paint shops, one told me 150 & brush paint, "2k paint & brush se marna hoga" he told, another told me for 100 & nothing.

But i think doing it yourself will give better finish job. but how can i do it? Please if u tell me all the process pls.

            3) Can i use this passion pro handle comp up in my bike?

If it is fitable without any problem? I wonder if minor difference can create a problem!!

That's the clear coat which is chipping off.
Use 2k rubbing compound two-three times to make the surface even,if it does not work then sanding it using a very fine silicon carbide waterproof paper is required.
Use a hard wax(such as waxpol) to protect the newly finished surface.

              Regd the pulsar handle-
Replacing it with new one is recommended as it is very difficult to straighten it 100% accurately.
Even a slightly bent handle will cause shoulder problems later.
You may save some money here by reconditioning the handle but you will end up paying more to treat your shoulder/back pain.

I think that pro handle holder can be used but please check if the distance between both the bolts is same.

It is actually the clear coat peeling. Have you done the so called teflon coating in show room. I believe you have done it and this is the result. So easy method of removing it.
Take a wet cloth and put it on the tank and leave it overnight. Next morning just take out the cloth and use a 2k rubbing compound and polish it. Then use a hard wax to protect the surface.
Yes you can use passion pro handle holder.
Also change the handle bar to passion. No good in using a bent handle bar.

Its not bent now, i'm using from 2.5 years and doesn't create any problem to my shoulder nor i feel any pain even if i drive for long distance.
Therefore i was wanted to paint it.

I dont know if it has done teflon coating before coz this bike is driven by my bro before for 4 years when it was newly bought. I was so young that time that i dont even know what he has done to the bike, nor he remembered.
Anyway, thanks for that method, i'll try!

I want to give my splendor a weekly wash (never used to do this earlier). Can i mix a spoon or two or dish wash liquid (pril, etc) to a bucket of warm water to remove dirt before washing in plain water? Will usage or pril harm paint/finish?
Yes you can..use a sachet of detergent to the dish wash liquid and mix with water and use it for metal parts...For non metallic parts use human shampoo (mild) sachets ..

instead of waxing, I think washing your bike every week is a great idea. I washed and waxed my bike only last week but due to the rains here in Chennai, the bike is already dirty. so its better to wash every week during the monsoons I think

Damn , that's an bad state on the tank paint ... quite a shock after seeing Sibun'Jee's Joy . Like everyone said , you have to remove that disintegrating layer somehow(and carefully) and apply a good hard wax and polish hard .
Get a OE chrome handle , chrome handles look way better than painted ones and suits this bike , me thinks . I think it would cost less than re-painting/fixing this ugly one too .
The original fitting style for the handle is easy to fix and take off or adjust and and again suits the overall looks of the bike . Use shiny new OE bolts and maybe refinish those clamps with a sand-down and a coat of aluminum paint with a brush .

If you wash weekly you can take either of two ways ...

                          i) polish the bike overall (plastic, chrome, paint and all) with Waxpol liquid silicone polish . It is very easy to apply and buff and gives great shine and protects the surface . The finish lasts just about a week though ... just right for you . Herohonda ASCs here are using it .

ii) use a long lasting hard wax and buffing buffing . Then use only a good(mild) automobile(car) shampoo to wash . A good car shampoo will take out the surface dust and pollutants but leave the wax layer intact for 3-4 washes(a month) at least .

Leaving the surface just clean after a wash is not good long term practice from my experience . The paint and other parts then tarnish , scratch and damage quicker from constant exposure to dust settled on it, bird poop, industrial pollution, salty sea air, sand particles, mud, hot sun, flakes of road tar, gutkha spit etc etc . Once such damage has accumulated over a period you'll never get it back to shine like Sibun'Jee's Joy ... however hard you may try .

                          • chain sounds

Dear friends , I have a super splendor run 37 k . As I have CBZ for long trips I use SS very less these days the chain adj reached the last limits . so removed a link from the chain . But the problem is, now the chain is rattling and making good noise . Adj to proper sag but even then the sound is there. This is first time in my life I cut link and use Usually I change chain and sprockets at 35k .While I took the chain out I found that the front sprocket has play on the axle. Is it common to all ?

@Sibun, Mean while I purchased Rolon Csb gold kit On the pack It is written Passion Plus alloy wheel 108/14/44. the shop keeper told this will be compatible for super splendor. your opinion?
I am yet to check the teeth nos on my SS.

Regarding your super splendor it is making noise because of front sprocket. Just open the front sprocket and fit it in reverse,i.e fit the inside edge to outside and your noise will go. Or else just buy a front sprocket and replace, it will cost Rs.50.This is the most common problem and most mechanics and ASC just change the sprocket kit. But just fitting the front sprocket inverse or a new front sprocket will extend the life of sprocket kit by another 20k.
Ok to clear your confusion sprocket kit are three kind:-
                              1. old model- splendor,CD100 and SS, passion, joy, dawn,CD DAWN- these had smaller rear drum and thicker chain.
                              2. New model- CD DELUXE,CD DAWN, Passion pro, splendor pro all have rear hub bigger and also thiner chain.
                              3. other model below 125 cc- From 2006 onwards passion plus came with alloy wheel and bigger rear drum and had thicker chain. Super splendor and glamor also has bigger rear drum but thinner chain. Thiner in the sense that it is thin for 125 cc and the thickness is same as old 100 cc chains.
So the passion plus alloy wheel set will fit but the problem is gearing.
super Splendor has 14/42 set and glamour has 14/43 teeth. The chain thickness is same has old model hero honda but the rear hub is bigger. Your kit will fit but it will under gear the bike.

but losing in speed and hence mileage too.???
