The foldable pliers was a gift from a company I worked for and the small leatherman tool I got for about 9.8$ at walmart NY(US) . I have seen such foldable pliers here too at fancy market in kolkata , so they should be available . Many other types also available here ... check the quality as peryour needs . Leatherman tools .. I dunno about availability here ... this is their website - Leatherman Multi-Tools, Knives, and Military and Law Enforcement Tools .. Micra is their oldest and smallest tool ... quality is excellent .. those scissors and tiny knife blades is are HC420 surgical steel .Originally posted by Above_All View Post

I think that T spanner at bottom is of #10 size . Is same thing whose spanning ends can be changed available ? Like those above it & there rods near them .

Its same like those above but it is in small category. Those are extension rod two small & one big, just for making the handle long, if u r working under the car and u have bolt deep inside where other tools cant reach
There is another thing just left of big extension rod, its 3 of them, a pretty much cool thing turns every angle when it comes to open a bolt/nut on a conjusted area.
Its not just a drilling machine its much more. Its very powerful, high performance, multi purpose tool. Therefore its cost too much. If anyone wants to wax your bike then stop wasting money on imported wax.
The best and hardest wax is from waxpol and is really good. It is water repellent and doesn't ever let water to stay on bike.
But a warning-
When you apply it wet a sponge and squeeze it completely. Then apply it in circular motion. While applying be careful as apply it first half to tank, then before drying buff it. Then apply it to other half. Remember never let it to dry otherwise it will be impossible to remove.
I use motomax dashboard polish for meter console, indicators and other un painted plastic parts. I never use rubbing polish as my bike always has wax coating and thus never gets dirty.
Use this as it is the hardest paste wax and you get it for Rs.40 for 50g. There is no chance of fake and it makes a coating which is repellent to water. I will post the photos of my bike which i took on its birthday on 08/07/2012.
This is the wax coating:-

Polish i use for meter, indicator and other un finished plastic parts.

Now here are pictures of my joy after 12 years:-
This photo i do not know when i took but it was when i was returning from office

Here is my joy after 12 years. The classic styling that RX100 lovers will like.

Here is the paint quality. This is the same paint that came from factory 12 years ago. For the first four years the bike was thoroughly abused and only in 2004 that i started polishing the bike.

See the paint quality after 12 years it gives a run for money to new bikes. The new bikes do not come with same paint quality.

See the handle bars they are so much wide and also i have fixed pulsar handle bar weights to Original handle. This is the widest handle bar and much lower in height than any hero honda bikes.

The seat of the bike. Any body who has rode pillion tells that this is the most comfortable bike to ride pillion.See how wide the seat are and the seat after 12 years is still the same shape as it came from factory.

The front of bike:-

The side of bike. Joy is the heaviest 100 cc bike at 118 kg kerb weight. You can see how well the bike is packed and the front end is lower than splendor, passion e.t.c so it gives it immense stability.

Another image of tank. see the gloss of paint even after 12 years. You all yourself tell do any bike comes with same quality paint now which will give the same gloss after 12 years:-

Some of the amazing facts of this bikes:-
All the external parts like mudgaurd, tank, side panels, meter, mirrors, seat.silencer e.t.c that you see in the picture are same that came from factory. Only the rear shock absorbers are changed. The accelerator cable is the same that came from factory and is more free than new cables. The clutch and brake levers are same as from factory. The rims is also same from factory. In a nut shell the engine is overhauled two times rest nothing has been touched. The wheel bearings are also the same from factory. Even the backlight and indicators are same that came from factory. The wiring is same.
Now i ask you a question:-
Many are fighting here my bike has more quality. Do you think any bike has more better quality than this? Even after 12 years and 3.1 lac km this bike still gives showroom bikes a run for money in looks department.Last edited by sibun; 08-09-2012, 09:46 AM.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. I am looking for that goti changable t spanner in this kindOriginally posted by paul.1911 View PostYes its the same thing where ends can be change, which is called Socket (goti in hindi). But what i found is like this

Which is not of good quality & damages the nuts .
Or they show Goti's & 2 rods by connecting which we can make a T spanner but it is heavy on weight & cost . The similar is there in you picture .
The same one you posted is available on ebay costing around $80 to $ 100 which would be around ₹5000/- to ₹6000/-Originally posted by paul.1911 View PostIts not just a drilling machine its much more. I want a small drilling machine which can be useful in making Angel Eyes rings & to make some small drills on fiber parts . Somedays before found one on ebay in bidding but it ended up very high .

Yes its available, i bought T handle for Rs. 35 and 8 mm & 10 mm goti for Rs.28 and Rs.30 respectively.Originally posted by Above_All View PostI am looking for that goti changable t spanner in this kind

Reason, the bigger heavier goti's have more diameter, from which i was not able to open my bike side covers. Therefore, i bought this one and now i can open easily.
Those heavy weight T spanner i have is used for heavy duty, where you need higher torque.Originally posted by Above_All View PostBut what i found is like this

This handle will not damage the nuts, but u can't apply the required torque easily to open any bolt in your bike because of its small size. This small tool is not for mechanical purpose, even those small screw opener bites is not for doing mechanical work, coz those is made of metal like casting & not meant for applying higher torque when it comes to repairing a bike. It can break off if u apply more than of its capacity. This tool is use for opening home appliances like computer cabinet, dvd player, amplifier where very less torque is required compared to fixing a bike.
So take this pic down to your mobile to the tool shop and ask for the same. Even this tool is also small & burns your more calories
but its manageable.
L shape handle is also available. Buy 8 & 10 mm socket or 12 or more if u need later.

@Sibun
That's a very well maintained bike, shines way better than factory paint.
I see a small dent on the tank, how was it dented ? Is that your original tank ? Even the riding instructions sticker is intact.
Wishing you many more happy miles with your joy.
My splendor's tank and other plastics shine just like that but mine has run little more than 16,000kms.
The panel below the carrier and steel exhaust doesn't shine.
My younger brother has a habit of resting his right foot on the silencer, only recently he stopped doing that when his black shoe's plastic sole melted and stuck to the silencer
.Now that black mark doesn't want to go from the silencer !!
My 05 passion,(2,10,000kms) does not shine and most of the plastic panels have faded and turned whitish, engine cover's paint chipped, swing arm and chain cover got rusted, front and rear drum's paint also chipped.
Got it re-painted last year in Dec.
Many parts have been changes thanks the poor maintenance as this bike is used mostly at my dad's workplace by his employees,100 kms away from the city.

I suggest you use the T (even an L-shaped handle comes with both the sides tapered to fix hex sockets) only for the bolt sockets and not as a screwdriver. You'll be amazed that how a straight handle screwdriver does its job way better than a T with a screw socket at its end. The design of the T/L is such that it allows bolts to be opened perfectly and allows for good amount of torque. You can of course use it as a screwdriver but the 'firm balance' is difficult to achieve. Socket type driver heads are available but they are of poor build and quality and tend to break/chip. A screwdriver with a longer handle does your job neatly and efficiently.
Oh, and btw whatever tools you need to buy, go for one brand only - Taparia. The BEST. I have sockets sized #8 #10 and #12. More than sufficient to open every hex-bolt on your bike! Try it.
You can buy a torque wrench with removable sockets to achieve effortless/professional opening and tightening of your bolts.

Taparia makes tools of very good quality and each socket costs ~Rs.50/-.It is expensive but it lasts long, very long even after abusing it.Originally posted by BloggingWheels View PostOh, and btw whatever tools you need to buy, go for one brand only - Taparia. It is better to buy "few" Taparia sockets which you need instead of getting complete Chinese socket set which sometimes damages the bolts.
This from my experience, decision is yours.

Dear forum-members, i request your suggestions on these points:
1. At the end of a recent service at a nearby A.S.S, polish was applied on my splendor when i was paying the bill. The bike did look shiny at that time and till i reached home. Next day morning, the whole bike was looking dull, ie it has a matte finish now, instead of glossy. It looked glossier before the service!!
What to do? Is there any product in the market that i can use to give my bike a glossy look after its weekend wash? Please suggest some brand names and their approx cost.
2. I want to give my splendor a weekly wash (never used to do this earlier). Can i mix a spoon or two or dish wash liquid (pril, etc) to a bucket of warm water to remove dirt before washing in plain water? Will usage or pril harm paint/finish?

Yes i know Taparia tools are of very good quality , most of my tools are of taparia . Sometime some nuts are at such a place where normal screw driver can't work at that time T/L type would be good . Learned it from one of fairing screw of ZMR which got stuck , ASC , road side mech can't able to open it , asking to remove tyre but one battery shop guy opened it with L shaped Screw Driver exact similar to those Allen Keys .Originally posted by BloggingWheels View PostI will quote from my personal experience:

2) Yes you can wash weekly with weak detergent solution like that followed by plain water . Use ordinary detergents like tide, surf etc . No problem .Originally posted by windride View PostDear forum-members, i request your suggestions on these points: ...
1) Wash and re-polish it . Waxpol auto polish (solid wax) is what I use , it takes hard work to buff up but it stays on and keeps protecting long . For easy application use Waxpol silicone liquid polish , it is good on plastics and chrome too . Both come for around Rs 100 and lasts a year at least . I have used 3M liquid wax (90 Rs) too and it shines painted areas very well .
