I refer to engine oil....and thats a typing mistake, sometimes happens

My camshaft doesnt fit tight in its place, i mean if i pull the sprocket the camshaft also pulls. and even there is a scratch on the sprocket surface held by its cover...dont know how old it is (but teeth's are good). Thats may happen when bike fall on the left side last year or so.

and my air screw o-ring is damage for sure, coz when i tight i feel there is no o-ring inside but it is there its squeezed

....i bought today will replace tomorrow and see if it is responding or not.

The one which attaches the sprocket to the camshaft.(Located in the center of sprocket)

Finally found some time for the chain which had become gritty throughout monsoon and no care .
Cleaned out the front sprocket and adjoining spaces , there was a whole lot of old black grease mixed with sand and mud stuffed in there . Flat big screwdriver(used as spatula

), diesel,toothbrush and strips of old t-shirt rags .

Cleaned the chain with diesel(i've run out of kerosene just now) and toothbrush and oiled it with EP140 gear-oil . No more noise now

@Shoeb - maybe you can point the dowel-pin in the first pic ?

Dumped the engine oil and refilled with Hero-Honda 4T Premium 10w30 from my old stock which I gotta finish off during the cooler months now .

Saw a Black&White Splendor+ today (not the Splendor Pro) with the new HERO marking on tank instead of the usual Hero-Honda . You guys seen that yet ? It's awful

The camshaft is loose in the head.
It tightens as the head gets heated up.
The scratch mark is normal. You can see there is a projection on the timing cover. This projection pushes the camshaft and hold it in place.So the mark is normal and if you open brand new bike then also you can see the mark.

Ok, this is good. But i will post a complete chain and sprocket cleaning guide which is done by removing the chain and front sprocket. I will do it on my extreme but i am not getting enough time. Most probably this week i will do it.
There are two models of splendor.
One is the long sticker with hero written in middle and other is the roundish sticker with hero written on the sticker.
It doesn't look awful but yes it do look odd. But it is because we are habituated in seeing hero honda. So it might look odd but guess after 6 months we will be habituated with it. Moreover have you seen the impulse, mastreo, ignitor and passion pro with hero printed in small font on the side cowl. They look good.

And i have seen in this thread that while cleaning carburettor everyone is taking out the float o-ring. Never take it out as it is pasted. I have never taken out while cleaning carburettor as it is not required. My old carburettor was changed but still the o-ring is intact and i have the old carburettor.

I dont know why i'm told for Rs.800

.....i haven't taken out but its squeezed as it is 9 years old the factory one...and dont know if it is leaking or not. But replacing it'll be better. But this cost is extremely beyond my status.
If i'd hv no options then i'll use sealant.

If you have time then clean the chain by removing it once a year at-least.(apart from regular lubing and cleaning)
BTW,How do you get kerosene ? Its not available freely here in AP.

HERO looks better than Hero,in particular 'e' doesn't look good to me.
Whats with name,quality is all what we want.

This is my method to clean the chain,is it OK ?

First Loosen axle nut.
Loosen the chain adjuster bolts .
Kick the tyre from back.

Now the chain should be very loose.
Remove both the upper,lower and sprocket covers.
Remove the chain master link by using flat nose pliers.
(There is a small trick to remove and install it)

Dip it in kerosene/diesel ,pressure wash it,dry it with compressed air and sock it in 90 gear oil immediately to prevent rusting.

the O-ring 27x2 (9130102800) which I bought for this was greater in diameter

This is the old O-ring

it's not original

The O-ring 18x3 (91307035000S) which i bought before from ASC was correct in diameter but it was not thicker & fuel was leaking...so for the temporarily purpose I used a non-original O-ring, and within four days see its condition

so because I got frustrated and there was no o-ring available in the ASC, I cut that O-ring and joined with fevi kwik
Its right there where near piece.

and believe me, you may be thinking that joint may become hardened but it's not, it's really working.

I used a sealant on that area.
The i idea got this from my father, when he was not getting a O-ring for his old car fuel pump...so he created like that and it worked.

Few years ago, I found a rubber cap where there is a foam inside. I get to the ASC to get a new one. I showed them a sample but they said (ye sab nahi milta h). So I created myself but don't know where it has fall gone....

What is that hole used for? Is there small foam filter is necessary?

I think that is used to drain the water in the air box.
Check if it goes into the air box.

But there is no hole down inside the airbox.
As I said, there is a little foam filter.

If you can check it in your bike now.

Its wet and dark outside now,will check it tomorrow morning.

Did you notice that there is small gap covered with a plastic cover which has a rivet ( Can be seen towards the left side after opening the air-box cover.)
May be that gap/cover has to do something with crankcase vent.

Let me check it first.

Yes if there is a way to that hole from there gap, then there is no use of oiling the air-filter. as it will suck debris IN from this hole.

Also the pipe which goes to crank case sucks the air from air filter...dont know what is that used for...

Anyway check it tomorrow!!
