Did you lubricate the threads with oil ?(First few threads have hard black carbon deposit)
No , didn't oil plug threads ... I think the plug was a bit under-tight because of the uncompressed washer on first fit . This is the first time opened plug after first fit . Now tightened .
Moreover I have to run the bike all day in 1-3 gears with really frequent brake-clutch-shifts at low rpms , sometimes at 10-20kmph on long stretches . City traffic is worst on monsoons , broken-up potholed roads . So carbon is building up fast , must be on valves, head and piston too .... bike is at less than 12k kms and I am considering a head decarb already .

What about the chain lock trick ?

I tried leaner , yes pick-up improves a lot then .. but but the engine heats up quickly too .. particularly badly with the HH 10w30 I have in it now . Next I have Gulf Synth 10w30 synthetic oil to try . Lets see.
No long rides ... just 2-5 kms short hops all day on errands and work . Today I got to ride 25(x 2) kms back and forth after weeks . So I filled with 2 liters of speed at reserve and blasted it at 70kmph to clear up the engine a bit . Couldn't go past that because of short roads , wet conditions and potholes .. risky .

The new model CD dawn shares the same engine as splendor pro, passion pro, CD deluxe(new model), splendor nxg. Those engines are different and their fueling and firing are also different.
The new series engine is more free and has more pick up because:-
    1. The maximum torque is 8.04 NM @ 4500 rpm and 7.8 bhp @ 7500 rpm. The y2k engines in splendor/passion/ Cd dawn(old model) have 7.8 Nm @ 5000 rpm and 7.8 bhp @ 8000 rpm. Joy has 7.8 bhp @ 8000 rpm and 8 Nm @ 5000 rpm. So they making torque and power at lower rpm makes them have nifty acceleration.
    2. They have thinner chains which decreases the mass of final drive and thus friction and thus feel free to REV.
    3. They have DC CDI so their firing is uniform unlike our AC CDI.
    4. Our rocker arms are of sliding types on camshaft but the new models have roller bearings on the rocker arm.
    5. The carburettor and air filter are different so has better tuning and hence more better performance.
    6. Now all have 44 rear teeth sprocket and the increased torque of 8.04 Nm increases their pulling power.
For this little improvement , particularly in torque ... I am willing to buy a new CD/Splendor . I love torque . More torque at lower rpms is something anyone will love in traffic . No ?
New Splendor+ has the new engine type or only the Pro ?

I removed and cleaned the chain ,thanks to an un-expected bandh here.I will post it by 5pm.

I was also planning to gift my father a new bike (150cc+) but then dropped the idea because
1.He does not wear a helmet even after me telling him thousand times.
2.Rides mostly during Rush hour traffic.
3.Self-start will be more convenient for him.(Age-50)

So the best option I have is to sell the old passion and get a Passion Pro.
This way we will be having a Splendor with good highway performance and pro with good city performance.

Your plug is indicating the setting is correct but however ride for few more kms and post. The black on the circle portion is perfectly normal and nothing to be worried.
I have inquired about your parts. If you do not mind a delay of 10 days is acceptable to you or not.

Thanks.....okay no problem..i've no hurry even if it delay for a month.
I've driven more than 100kms on this plug before posting.

This is indication of my exhaust tip driven about 50 kms after cleaning.
its shining not wet as before. cant say if its smoking or not. any other way to inspect?

                Edit:
I open my head to replace the valves...here is the pic before

I've seen a circle mark/line on the TDC (red line is an example)....looks like done by rings
and dont know why bore is looking black....its a layer of oil which is black..
                Is that normal??

I've completed 900 kms on this oil when changed on 27-jun Gulf 4T Plus 20w40..the color of oil is still red not black.

and does this sprocket looks worn to u?? no?

I've lapped the valves...as u said first with coarse & fine using kerosene & in one direction. i spend lot of time on exhaust valve and after fitting the springs i put kerosene on the top to check for any leaks....nothing was happened till 10-15 min then leaved it for an hour, i find some leaks from exhaust...i opened it cleaned it, tested 4-5 times & leak was still there...i re-lapped again with fine...after leaving kerosene, i see very very slightly kerosene on the seat after 15 min...then i leaved it over night. after 8 hours...i seen that kerosene was there but its so so so less in valve seat that it didn't come out/fall down from it, and so in the inlet valve too...but level/quantity of kerosene was same above. I've perfectly lapped the valves there is no mistake, scratch, mark, debris or anything like that. I think there should be no problem if kerosene comes after 15 mins of wait & were its quantity was also same when leaved it over full night.

How guys you are telling Rs.13, 25 or whatever
If u r right then send me a 2 NOS please, i'll deposit in your bank account.
                  Jet cost Rs.300 not bought
Got the air screw o-ring & 27x2 o-ring 91301028000S luckily only last piece was there.
Bro i just shared the numbers of the parts from catalogue & checked the price of it in the price sheet shared by ashwin . And price of it is unbelievable , but some lucky members got it at real cheap price .

See the reply in bold just after photo of air screw o-ring.
Both the o-ring and the rubber cap and clamp, all are available. If you want i can courier it to you.

You can change the back tyre to 3.00-18 without any problem. But adding a side luggage carrier will never dis-balance the bike. Look for other things like improperly seated tyre, or chain adjuster not adjusted equal in both sides.
The handle bar weights are from pulsar.
                    Each weight cost Rs.70.
Two allen bolt each cost RS.10
Two square 10 no. bolt Rs.4 each.
Welding the bolt to handle weights cost Rs.20.
Also you have to make hole in the factory grips to fit the weights.
And regarding your running, my 4 months running is more than your total running.
And regarding the first model CD dawn, i know it very well because our tenant had it and i have ridden it a lot.
While it looks same as JOY it has some difference:-
                    1. Lighter in weight than joy
                    2. Front shock absorber is like splendor and longer than joy
                    3. The front mud guard is different
                    4. The quality is different as else how will you see the price difference of almost Rs.10,000. Joy materials were of higher quality and CD dawn was launched to eat into boxer market which it did successfully.Still CD dawn had greater quality than competition. As you know hero honda never compromises on quality but still joy is best quality from hero and this has been confirmed by my mechanic and showroom. But sadly it didn't find acceptance in market.
So naturally i find all other bikes to be a shade lower in material quality. Even my new extreme i feel is lower in quality than my joy.
                    5. Joy has multi focal headlight and back light while CD dawn has plain reflector.
                    6. Cd dawn has much better light output than JOY.
                    7. CDI is different and magnet is also different.
                    8. Cd dawn has side handle lock but joy has ignition handle lock.
                    9. The meter console is different
                    10. CD dawn feels free to REV than joy because of different CDI and lighter magnet.
                    11. The front tyre of CD dawn is 2.75-18 while joy has a factory fitted 2.50-18 and i have not changed the size.
                    12. CD acceleration is slightly higher than joy because of weight advantage and also change in CDI.
Post a photo of your CD dawn and i will guide you how to retain showroom finish.
thanks bro, Yes I forgot to write the difference in front shockers, meters and yes it is lighter by some 20 kgs, But seriously I dont knew about the quality of materials and Cdi system differences, and surely I will photo update my CD dawn in this thread sooner

I tried make it hot boiled in water hoping it may retain its shape but nothing happens.

U can get little brightness up by changing lights to led and removing the wire to the back light will increase your brightness. Also u can switch to philips premium H4 bulb has more brightness. You cant get higher brightness and no one can do this....there is no shop in jsr who can do this.
                      I've 2003 model.
I will try to contact the spare parts authorised dealers and check the prices of theH4 and also HSI of the new cd dawn bulb, by the way thanks for your reply

                          Is that normal??

I got the new pair of valve oil seals with new valve kit, although i've changed before to the new one, i'm feeling those are very slightly loose than the new pair...i think those will work, in fact ran for 115 kms only.

and does this sprocket looks worn to u?? no?
Sprocket is good for the kms it has done.

Spark plug shows good AFR,black circle is normal.Exhaust valve also shows some red color indicating good mixture.

I think Fuel is slightly adulterated
or the bike was run for incorrect mixture in the beginning
or ridden for short distances at low rpm.
or the swirling of mixture did not happen because of polishing the valve fillet area as a result slight deposits.(I think)

Rest everything is perfect, don't forget to replace the head gasket with new one if you want a trouble free ride.

That circle mark is caused by piston rings as that part of the bore never comes in contact with rings.

When did you change the engine oil / how many kms on this oil ?

How many kms covered after cleaning the head ?

The new CD Dawn's MultiFocal Reflector and Halonix HS1 lamp(OE) would be the best light available for your bike , without doing extensive/expensive electrical mods like rewinding the alternator coils etc . It would be adequate for riding at night in city . On the highways nothing seems to be bright enough , but yeah slowing down a bit you can manage .
Prices in Jamshedpur would not be different from anywhere else since they should be following the Hero Moto corp's pricelist . Else you can come to Kolkata to the Hero authorised distributor I told you about .

very very thanks for your quick reply and helping hand, by the way IF example a total cost of Rs 19,000 like that ,as seen on one of the post by sibun will my bike light will increase drastically.DO you ride your crux bike more often on highways,As I travel in highways here I seem to get a disbalancing and vibration (on like my fingers after say 30 km ride feel vibration in my fingers bone and also rings on finger) handle while ridning at 50-60 or above KMPH constant. So I want to know how to myself check the alignment issues of the bike on tyres, body struture, shock absorbers etc without going to service station ,As reading all of you's technical work I want to leanr also.
                                Thanks,
