Your needle position is correct. No need to change. It differs from bike to bike as CD dawn has different ignition timing than passion so the needle position and needle both are different.Originally posted by paul.1911 View Post

@ Sibun & Shoeb
I checked the resistance of exciter coil in its connector and showing 295 ohms
Is that need to be change?
Also checked the values of ignition coil.
When connecting on -ev +ev wires the primary resistance value fluctuates between with minimum of 1.2 ohm to 2(avg) to upto 3-4 ohm
whereas, according to information on these 1 2 3 links it should be between 0.75 to 0.81 ohm
and on secondary it was 12170 omhs
please kindly check yours and post the values.

Change the excitor coil as it is showing abnormal value. On heating the resistance will further decrease and create problem. Just change it. By seeing your spark plug i came to know your excitor is providing less current. I haven't measure resistance of new coil.Originally posted by paul.1911 View Post@ Sibun & Shoeb

just before De-carbonization this same spark plug was like this on this same excitorOriginally posted by sibun View PostChange the excitor coil as it is showing abnormal value. dont know what happened now, its not turning white!
will change it.
but u should check the ignition coil value for sure.| SOL 68s | Rynox Tornado Pro | Rynox Advento | Cramster TRG2 | Scoyco MC20 | Hero 5 and SJ6 |

Yes my problem is completely solved and spark is too strong. Opening the plug adapter and testing the spark wire directly on engine casing the spark jumps almost 1 inch and is so strong that you can hear the spark sound.Originally posted by paul.1911 View Post@ Sibun

Oh i went to the ASC today they told me to open the exciter and bring it to us then we'll be able to give you the match. Will cost about 200Originally posted by sibun View PostYes my problem is completely solved and spark is too strong. I dont own the magnet holder puller so will be open at the mechanic shop....is that soldering or what?
Can u give the resistance value & voltage output from exciter?? I'm thinking if how a coil can culprit
its just a coil. A capacitors may culprit after time. How old is your CDI?

My cdi is the same that came with the bike. Believe me cdi is not faulty. hero honda cdi do not get damaged so soon. the excitor coil is the main part which gets damaged.Originally posted by paul.1911 View PostOh i went to the ASC today they told me to open the exciter and bring it to us then we'll be able to give you the match. How a excitor gets damaged:-
1. repeated heating and cooling in engine
2. spark plug fouling which increases resistance to conduct spark
3. faulty adapter causing voltage drop
4. driving in rain as water in sockets and plug cap causes electrical leakage and strains the excitor.
5. sorted spark plug
6. rich mixture
so many factors are there which eventually shortens the excitor coil life.
this is the reason why companies moved to dc cdi as excitor is the main part of ignition which fails.
In bajaj boxer, caliber models a slight water in connectors is enough to shorten excitor coil.
and cdi doesn't comes cheap. it cost about Rs. 900.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. I'll change it on Wednesday coz ASC will be full day closed on Tuesday
and will report the results.
Hope it'll solve my problem
1) pickup has become low as regular.
2) starting trouble.
2) Not able to tune carburettor coz of unable to understand the noise going up and down bcoz its very light response.| SOL 68s | Rynox Tornado Pro | Rynox Advento | Cramster TRG2 | Scoyco MC20 | Hero 5 and SJ6 |

was feeling very lonely...new look is coolOriginally posted by shoeb2015 View PostHow did you guys feel without xbhp ?
I had no reason to switch-on my computer for the last two days,Now I have.

@ sibun
I changed the exciter coil but there is no improvement
spark is same as before...CDI has also been tested via another CD-Dawn CDI (got from nearby mechanic)
Starting problem is still there (need to pull choke)
The resistance on new coil is same as old one.
The volts on old coil was 50VAC (tested via analog meter) on low rpm, and it was not increasing when accelerating
Whereas, on new coil the output is 50VAC on low rpm but it decreases on accelerating.
Moreover, when tested a volts on old splendor i got 55VAC.
Dont know where the problem lies

High rev means the revolution at which the engine makes its maximum power and Torque.for example KTM duke 200 makes 23.17 Bhp @ 10,000 rpm where as splendor 100cc makes 7.8 Bhp @ 7500 rpm. This means KTM has to rev all the way to 10,000 RPM to make maximum power where as splendor has to rev only at 7500 RPM to make max power.Thats why KTM is called high revving engine. bikes such as R15, CBR150,Duke,Pulser 200NS are high rev bikes. Normally the ECU is set to cuts in once the engine reaches its maximum set RPM...ie ECU does does not allow to go past set RPM...otherwise engine will heat up too much and seize because it is not designed to withstand that much heat. high rev engines produce more heat and thats why they have liquid cooling system where as low-mid rev engines like splendor are Air cooled.Originally posted by harish_gkumar View PostHi friends,What is high revving motorcycle engine means ?..Yamaha svc guys told me that yamaha fazer old and gladiator (mine) are high revving engine..The what about our splendor? Is there any special driving style for the high revving engine ...Do they have to revv high to produce power?Last edited by sachin1111; 09-15-2012, 10:45 PM.

Here it is the photo of my bike CD dawn, sorry for so late posting had some trouble wth my PC (sibun),and also sorry guys for not pointing to the particular topic part and posting whole of others post(pinaki).
By the way thanks to all of you guys(sibun, pinaki, shoeb, paul and more) for guiding me about bikes various aspects. I will be purchasing Ceat grip model 3.00X18 tyre for rear which is 1750 INR here with no change in sprocket settings, chain, engine tuning, rim etc.Last edited by Abhishek101; 09-16-2012, 03:42 PM.
