    Rightly said..
1 teeth more in the rear sprocket will make your vehicle very comfortable for city drive.
2 teeth more in the rear sprocket, you can try a wheelie.
Old Splendor with 43 teeth at rear is a boon for city ride.
My friends old splendor zooms @ 85 KMPH and still throttle left. The max he has done is around 100-105KMPH since he started zipping the vehicle on highways right from the 1st service.
My new splendor with 42 teeth @ rear, is a pain to drive in city with a pillion although the Hero motors increased the torque in the new splendors.

    Sri

I'm sorry, but it's still bugging me;What if we(one) keep the circuit open before/after rectifier, will there be load still? i.e we take out battery/lighting or dumping through a resistor out of the equation.

Yes , energy shall be consumed to turn the rotor through the magnetic field of the fixed magnets all the time the engine runs . Stronger magnets = more energy needed to do so . Same with more wire in the coils . Moreover you cannot take the ignition circuit out of the equation , at least . This is what I know , may someone elaborate further on this .

          • Joy to the rescue

The last friday did a complete overhaul of engine and the surprising fact is that the engine rebuilt was done in less time than head cleaning on the extreme. Have lots of photo and details will post in a separate post when i get to connect to broad band at home.

The matter is different here. It is actually the story of JOY coming to rescue of the CBZ EXTREME,

My extreme had a new battery which is six months old. But the problem is that battery was dropping charge in 3-4 days and using self would reset the clocks. My bike has no kick and moreover battery was in warranty.

So on Sunday gave the battery to my retailer friend for replacement and he said he will send it to SVC on Monday. Gave me a replacement battery from his stock and said me to fit it using cardboards so that no marks come on battery otherwise it will not sell. I assured him and took the battery.

In the evening of sunday i decided to fit the battery but suddenly i remembered that i have left the battery terminal nuts at friends shop. Being sunday he and my mechanic both shops are closed. Searched the whole of bbsr but all the spared shop are closed for sunday.

What to do as next day i have to ride 170 km to office as i do not want to take leave for this small issue.

So decided to use the battery terminal nut from Joy. At night 10 o' clock after finishing all works opened the terminals from Joy.

But as the saying goes anything that has to happen will happen. Alas the nut were roundr ones and those on the extreme battery requires flatter ones. No matter what i tried it will not fit.

Then suddenly an idea came. 1 year before i had used the Joy battery in the stunner to show my uncle that his battery is dead. So decided to do the same.

Opened the Joy battery and fit in the extreme, couldn't pull the self. Push started the bike and let it idle for five minutes. Then the battery picked up self easily.

Now the surprising part is that Joy battery is 2.5 AH of AMARON make which is five years old. But still it is working in a self start bike which a bigger battery failed in 6 months. The thing is that the Joy battery is ALPHA series from amaron which had got good life. Now a days due to demand for low cost batteries Amaron is supplying BETA series and also all companies which has shit performance. Moreover it denotes the quality of my JOY electricals which has kept the battery good for five years. For information my extreme runs twin horns from pulsars and it blows loud and clear with this battery.

Same here as i feel angry on Hero for stopping production. And also difficulty in finding spares makes me more angry.

But it is not the quality of the battery but battery that i was laying stress. Previously those ALPHA series batteries used to give no complains but due to customer demand for cheap batteries the beta series battery came which is giving a lot of complains.

I heard from a dealer friend that everready is coming with litium polymer batteries... a little different from mobile batteries but same tech and will be smaller too like the size of a 2.5 a battery but will pack 9 amps!
He also said thet it will be quite expensive but high quality and maintenance free and will have a long warranty status.
Also it will come with a battery level indicator that can be fit in any bike and willntell you about charging discharging status.
                  Lets hope this comes soon

Now i understand clearly bro. I think i will switch to taller gearing since i ride on highways mostly. The current condition of the drive chain and sprockets are fine. May be i shall change to taller gearing when the current drive chain wears out!

                      Yes you can
Your engine will be more relaxed wrt revs.
Try to source a smaller rear sproket.

There are two model of CD 100 and splendor carb. One is pollution model or Y2k model and other is pre y2k model. The pre y2k model CD 100 had 42 size slow jet and 82 size main jet and needle was also different being thinner. Can't recall the size. The pre y2k model splendor had also 42 size slow jet but 102 main jet and the needle was slightly thicket than cd 100.The y2k model CD 100 had 38 size slow jet and 98 size main jet with thicker needle than older model. The y2k model splendor had 38 size slow jet and 105 size main jet with c00H size needle jet. Also the pollution model has bigger carb than pre y2k model. All the models are available and you just need to say the bike and pre or after y2k and they will give the carb. If any other information then contact me.

Today i got my Spledor's rear brake shoes changed at the near by service center. It was squealing badly. As per my records, it lasted 8200 kms (approx).

The invoice state these were changed:

                                DAMPER RR WHEEL
                                SHOE COMP.BRAKE

Experts, please clarify the following points:
                                1. Is 8000 kms the life of rear brake shoes for a Splendor under normal usage conditions?
                                2. Every time brake shoes need change, does the damper also need to be changed?
                                3. Is there any other non-OE brand brakes i can buy which will give better brake life?

                                Thanks much in advance!
