Have tried it on my ZMA, there was a minor oil leak from the base of SAI pipe connected at the head, I believe this was due to it being welded shut.

Tuning becomes hassle free, other than that nothing much except for a couple of pops here and there.

      Hi xbhp friends.
Hopes you remember me. Today I went for a 140+ km ride. A week after cleaning and tuning my Carburetor with helps from ranjithp. Bike now clocked 257 km for 300 rs petrol . still more fuel left. The ride was at a 60-65 kmph speed and about 67 km non-stop running . expressing my gratitude to ranjithp, pinaki ji and sibun sir.

      • How to remove head gasket cover?

Bros, please guide me to remove the cylinder head cover of HH Splendor bike, if you can please add pictures too. I removed 4 10mm bolts on top of it, and 1 long 10mm nut to remove timing chain cover and another bolt fixed to next part of engine, but the cover is still not removing. Is there any other bolt to be removed?

          friend,
which is the model of your bike?
If it is before 2000 model for removing cylinder head from engine, you have to remove

          1. Two 8mm bolt connected to carburator
          2. Four 10mm nuts on cylinder head.
          3. One 10mm bolt which connect to cylinder
          4. One 10mm bolt on spark plug side which connected to timing chain sproket cover.
          5. Two 8mm timing chain sproket bolt

if it is after 2000 model
you require to remove extra two, 8mm bolt under the cylinderhead ,which connect secondary air injuction tube and cylinder head.
while removing head ensure the timing marks are in correct .it will help you while installing the cylinder head .

if the cover does not come out from head ,tap slightly on it, by using wooden handle of hammer or using mallet.
you can also do the same thing to remove the cylinder head from engine if it is not coming out.

thank you so much bro. I had to change the gasket there, its 1995 model. I removed and changed gaskets cleaned and replaced them, and luckily no abnormal sounds from engine till now And i have a little query too. Petrol is just free flowing through the overflow pipe of carb when starting the bike and bike is also missing like not getting enough petrol. Can this be solved by changing the Float?

First check the overflow screw under the carburator.Loose screw it and re tight it(don't give over pressure if give thread will strip).
If you not clean your carburator,Clean all jets and float needle and its seat .Also inspect the float needle(valve) for tear and wear,if it damage, change it. Also clean your airfilter. If the float needle is worn it does not seat properly. And result is overflow. After installing retune the carb. For your missing problem may be due to bad float or bad igneetion current or bad carb tuning. Also check your spark plug ,if the spark plug is damaged change it.

Yesterday my CD dawn has strage problem. It run for 55000km no major part replace including clutch till date.
I travelled from distance of 11 km. Bike was fine. When try to kick after 1 hr time, kick was slipping & bike does not start.
Earlier i never seen kick slipping hence clutch is OK. I just take it on main stand and after 2-3 try it started.

After that i started & run bike for atleast 5-6 times everyting is fine as usual.

What has happened. I feel one of valve was open or something stuck in between & hence no pressure was building ?

                Can experts advise on this

                  sir,

first inspect your clutch cable for proper free play and also check cable is good.if the cable if tight or no free play then same clutch slipping and kicker feels free with no pressure(like kicker kicking with applying clutch).

This kilometer is average end of the clutch plate ,and it also cause to the problem. So first check above. Also in this kilometers the bike require an major service. which include the extra work other than general service.Which include clutch repair ,cylinder head cleaning and timing chain replacement(if worn).which makes your bike like new.

                    Dear Ranjith,

Thanks for reply clutch cable is good & play is also appropriate.

Can I do it repairs as you suggested myself ? and what parts are needed ? cost of spares & labour if wish to do at good mechanic ?

Any specific make recomended like DID timing chain etc.?

                        Sir,
it require a some special tools
Like magnato puller, clutch holder.clutch special tool etc. If you have them then you can do it your self. Other wise go to a good mech.
For timing chain, if no noise or no loose then replacement is not require .

If other parts of clutch are good then you require replacing the clutch disk only.
While opening head the valves and other parts are good you only require a lapping ,valve seal replacement. Also replace head packing kit and o-rings.

Timing chain have two option replacing entire kit with orginal and. Replacing to other brand timing chain with oe guides.

Other good brands are diamond or did.

I cannot tell about cost. It varies from place to place and mech to mech
Ifeel ,if you are doing all jobs at a time
                        Cost is arround 2000

Hi, my 97 cd100 is again causing problems even after the rebuild. It returns a mileage of just 50, the bike is still smoking at first start of day. The silencer is apparently choked, it's run approx 1200 Kim's after rebuilding the engine, I also noticed the carb leaking, it's o rings are not available here. Has cd100 spares ceased by hero motocorp? The ride quality is not smooth. It's Piston is in a very tight clearance so will idle only on a higher rpm. Can anyone tell me the air screw setting for cd100? I always have struggled to set the carb. I have now set the air screw to 1 turn from fully tight position however the bike when throttled quick dies. It's become a hell here, I don't trust any mechanics here. Can anyone help me?

I guess you are dealing with multiple problems at once . Which on an old bike can be very frustrating to locate . Check all things one by one .
Carb leaking alone can explain the low fuel mileage . My Splendor's air-screw is around 2 turns out from tight . Check condition of the rubber manifold connecting carb to air-filter ( old rubber cracks and leaks in free air ) . Can newer model parts like from HF-Dawn etc fit ? Post photos so that we get to know all what you are trying with this bike
