      Change tail bulb,meter console and inside head light small bulb(if any)to LED.it will give more head light illumination.Go for good quality bulb.

        friends,
        Now a days i am facing a small problem on my bike.This problem is solved by the help of sibun sir.
        He helps me to identify the problem and provide the solution to me.Thanks a lot sir
        My problem was an irritating noise from engine.So many times I did tappet adjustments,timing chain replacement but no change in noise.
        After I contact our sibun sir he said first ensure the oil reach on head properly and replay to him. After inspection I communicate with sibun sir and confirmed the oil is properly reach on head.He tell it because My bike's head is already opened my mech before,and mech may use the gasket sealant.If he use the gasket sealant more then it will cause to block the path and oil reaching on head will reduce.
        Then he confirmed the rocker arm is worn.

        On sunday I opened the head my own. I set the timing mark and remove the head from bike then remove the rocker using 13's bolt.I have no valve spring compressor so I use 12 mm t spanner to remove and install the cotters on valve.
        After it i contact sibun sir he provide the instructions to inspect the valve and valve guide.After this, made a list for purchasing parts.The list is, rocker arm,tappet screw,valve,oilseal,packing kit and o-rings.
        Then tuesday i purchased the parts from authorized parts dealer and started to work on it. First cleaned head and piston top .And I lapped the valves and check to leak as in sibun sir's post.
        After it I started to assembling.After completion of work I start the bike the sound become good, and bike become smooth.Click image for larger version

        • Bike electricals Full DC conversion

          Hi, i have super splendor self start model, with 5 AH battery, i converted my bike to full DC using pulsar UG4 RR. I did not rewind the coil. My issue is at idle rpm, the current is only 0.5 ampere, as i increase the throttle, the current pumped by the RR goes around 5 amps .so sometime i face low battery problem in high traffic situation . My question is how can i get a current of at least 4 amp in idle engine rpm.

            Hi everyone,

            My CD100 is leaking oil near the magneto area, and this has happened after getting the whole engine rebuilt by a very competent mech. What has surprised me more is the fact that oil happen to leak only when engine has run for a good 5km run and not while stored. I recently gave the bike a whole wash and removed all the grime under the chassis so as to check where the leak is. I was quick to notice drops of oil leaking and dripping onto the foot rest bar underneath it. I then found out that it was from the magneto area and removed the cover to see that oil was actually leaking from the holes where one of the cover bolts go in. I also did remove the magneto rotor some months ago to check if i could remove the set up and give it for re-winding and recharging. Could it be some loose screw there that may have triggered the leak. Can the experts please look at the pics and direct me appropriately. Lastly im hugely disappointed in mechanics here, as they demand a huge amount and end up doing a shoddy job which is robbery, instead i have decided to DIY this no matter how complex it may get.

              Akkiben ji,
              From your description I feel(only my feeling) the leaking is from counter shaft oil seal.

              For pointing out the leak just remove the magneto cover and frond sprocket.Then put the bike in idling on 4th gear for 15 minute, also apply throttle in some interwell. Then you can easily point out the oil leak.

                Hello friends,
                Please tell symptoms of running lean apart from spark plug. My bike is not holding idle with headlight on. Within 10-15 secs of idling with headlight on, rpm gradually decreases and then engine stalls (this is when I stop the bike after coming from a ride). Also please tell the lowest speed in which your bike pulls in 4th gear. I am noticing knocking when moving in 4th gear at speed 20-25.
                My spark plug is always discoloured i.e. half portion of porcelain is brown and half is white.

                  Thanks Ranjithhp for the quick reply. Yes,I will certainly try that out to ascertain the leak but I need clarity on two things which you have mentioned. What do you mean by the countershaft? And is it a huge task to swap the countershaft oil seal? I'm asking these because I'm not well versed with 4 strokes DIY.

                    I mean ,the shaft of frond sprocket.I feel it's oil seal can be access from outside. Do not swap oil seal it will cause to damage the oil seal.

                    The symptoms of lean mix are ,low power,hesitation,clean plug,engine move to stalling(bad idling) ,starting trouble and you feel a little improvement in mileage .These are i found from my experiments.
                    I feel, with out knocking the bike can run above 30 on 4th gear.
                    How much turn out the air screw now?
                    From description I feel your bike running a bit lean.

                      Alright, im willing to replace the countershaft oil seal myself if it is leaking, however I now need to know the process of installing the new oil seal. Can it be done also from the outside or do i have to open up the engine? Im not going to entrust this to the same mechanic or any other, so i need to know exactly how its done to avoid messing things up. Is it common for the oil seal to go bad, that too after a complete engine rebuild?, im baffled. I paid 15k for rebuilding the engine(excluding parts cost) and that too entrusted to a reputed mechanic, and this kind of a shoddy work is what i get in return. The only reason why i didnt venture doing it myself was because of it being a 4-stroke which i feel is generally more complex when compared to 2-strokes.

                        Thank you ranjith ji. Actually I am at 1 turn from full closed. Still hiccups at low rpms sometimes. And regarding plug I dont know what is wrong with it. Everytime I half brown+half white plug. These cold starts are troubling me alot. I never had troubles with starting the engine. It always started in one click of starter no matter how cold the weather is but the problem comes when giving throttle. As soon as I try to give throttle engine tends to die.

                        Btw on hero website from new Passion Pro (2015 model) it says: "Better cold starting ability". Does anyone knows whats the technical difference in new model so that it has better cold starting ability? One difference I have seen between old and new that new model does not have SAI tube to the engine. Does SAI affects the engine in any way? Please tell.

                          I donot Know about Sai tube.
                          I have a doubt you have a air leak on intake manifold.Do a thing just change your carb insulator it has only rs 30 and check there is any leak on the the tube connected to intake manifold from egr valve.The air leak will cause to make the bike running in lean.

                              oil seal can be access from outside .I does not do this job but i show it from a mech .He just pull out it by using little flat screw driver and just push new seal.

                                No break up, he was my friend's trusted mechanic who claims to be the number one mech in whole of Bengaluru and told me stories of how he rebuilt rds rx , shaolins and scooters. I being a greenhorn gave it to him for rebuild.
