    Hi guys.
Few weeks ago I changed bike's plug cap with Hero OE. But again it got corroded(greenish coating on inside screw). So I decided to get a better plug cap. As I had already read in this thread that Hero's plug cap has 5k ohm resistor in it whereas Pulsar's plug cap has 1k ohm and members are using pulsar plug cap without any problems. So I changed plug cap to pulsar's and used rubber sealing boots from an aftermarket plug cap. Throttle response got a bit better. Covered 500kms with this setup(Pulsar plug cap+NGK CR6HSA) and no problems at all.

Also today after clocking 2000+ kms on Hero oil replaced it with Veedol Takeoff 4t Premium 10w30 (Cost Rs.240/- for 900ml can). First time using any other oil than stock. Gearshifts are buttery smooth now. Way better than before. As it was my first DIY oil change, I took extra care of tightening the drain bolt. First fully tightened with fingers then using ring spanner, gave it a slight jerk by holding the spanner with thumb and index finger. No oil leaks till now. Just covered 10kms post oil change. Will update its condition after 1-1.5k kms.

Nice pics jeswin. Serviced it yourself? Why did you change the lockable fuel petcock back to OE? I also have a lockable fuel petcock, thinking to replace it with OE.

          Thank you.

Yes, I serviced the bike myself. Water washed in service station, changed the engine oil (veedol 10w 30), adjusted the chain and lubed it, adjusted the clutch free play to 3mm, waxed with formula 1 wax.

During the last water wash, those service guys broke the lockable fuel tap. So, it was replaced with a new one.

Hello eveyone, need help regarding headlight. Passion Pro .. 5ah battery, 120w alternator. I enquired about coil rewinding in my area but no luck. So is it okay to use 55/60w bulb as it is. I have removed the 5w position lamp.
Also, the osram silverstar bulb has good reviews here, it is also told to remove the black coating on tip of the bulb. How to do that?

            ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

And also .. How to check if the osram silverstar bulb is genuine or not ?

Next will be blocking my SAI temporarily and will watch for any changes
Nice mod. Did you look for catcon less exhaust if it was available? I am also eager to know what will happen if we block the SAI since newer models (Passion pro, splendor pro/+ etc) are coming without SAI. Keep us updated.

I accidentally deleted the post. So re submitting it. Yes i did searched for silencer without catcon, wanted to retain OE looks as cat less silencer is chrome and mine is black powder coated. My bike is 2014 model not 2004, it was a typo. Regarding SAI delete, i will first block the vacuum rubber pipe from intake manifold, lets see will the SAi vave wll work or not after that. By the way any one usng CR6HGP of NGK ?

My splendor pro emits white smoke when started even after a hours gap. Sticky valves? Bike was in standstill for a long period before i purchased it. Odo reading is 5k kms. BTW splendor has fuel screw in carburetor, right?

If the smoke is only after starting the bike and doesn't persist after few minutes of ride, it could be due to leaking valve oil seals.
But 5k kms is too early for any kind of issues for a Splendor's engine.

Usually it happens when engine is hot, vanishes after a few seconds. The bike was not used for a year, after that i bought it.dint changed oil.will a oil change resolve prob?. What's the size of pilot jet in 2014 splendor pro?

I am not sure on the jet sizes.
The first thing you should've done after buying a used bike is changing the engine oil.
Try changing the oil as a first step.

Will change oil today itself, 10w30 will do? May be an engine flush too?

                              Engine flush is not required.

Did an oil change, bought valvoline 10w30 mineral for 200 rs. Poured 700ml. Feels smoother.
